Federal Decree No. 1 to ‘Establish and
Maintain the National Qualifications
Authority’
 A committee was formed in Sptember,
2010 to run NQA and to facilitate the
implementation of the tasks entrusted to it
in coordination with the concerned parties.
 The NQA Board of Directors was formed
on 04/12/2011 under the chairmanship of
the Minister of Labour and membership of
the governmental sectors and industries
concerned

to enhance economic and social
development.
 To develop and implement the
Qualifications Framework for the Emirates
to meet the requirements of the social and
economic development.
 Promote education learning outcomes link
with the labor market.
 Develop policies to recognize prior learning
and past experience.
 Evaluate institutions and education
programs and vocational training.
 Develop qualifications standards.
 Facilitate the transfer of individuals between
different education and training pathways.
 Promote life-long learning.
