2. Which social group my magazine
represents?
In my magazine the social group it represent is
“urban”. Urban music is the most pervasive
and influential genre in popular
music, topping charts around the world. This
social group is represented through images (of
models).
3. How would you define them?
“Urban” kids define themselves by listening
to, mainly, Hip-Hop music, listening to artists
such as: Kanye West, Notorious B.I.G., 50
Cent, Game etc. They would wear the clothes
their favourite Hip-Hop artists would
wear, such as: baggy designer jeans (below
your waist), designer clothing (Gucci
etc.), loads of jewellery (rings, watches, chains
etc.), big designer sunglasses etc.
4. How my magazine represents them?
Front Cover
‘Vibe’ is a very urban orientated magazine as usher is a very popular urban, Hip
Hop artist. My magazine represents the ‘urban’ group as my model is wearing
very urban clothing (designer clothing), wearing a baseball cap which also a lot
of Hip Hop artists wear and is also wearing a big, expensive watch to further
represent the ‘urban’ culture, also this is synonymous with the Vibe magazine as
Usher is seen wearing designer clothing and big expensive jewellery such as: a
big ring and a big watch. Also drug culture is very attached to the urban group
therefore the title of my magazine (The chronic) is very suited to the urban social
groups.

background to match the ‘urban’ area, also the font I have used for the quotation, title
is a graffiti font which further represents the ‘urban’ social group. The ‘urban’ social
group is further represented by urban clothing (hoodie, sneakers etc.) this is general
wear for a typical ‘urban’ kid when he is with his friends.
