As technical supervisors we sometimes find ourselves asking questions such as:
‘Why am I unable to develop my employees?’
‘Why do people not understand the simple tasks I assign?’, and
‘Why am I unable to handle my employees’ problems?’
Use these 3 strategies to become an EFFECTIVE SUPERVISOR
1. C.O.A.C.H. 
Believe in an individual and then take action to help that person be at his or her very best!
•Conviction –Driven 
Never compromise your beliefs
•Overlearning 
Practice until it’s perfect
•Audible –Ready 
Know when to change
•Consistency 
Respond predictably to performance
•Honesty –Based: 
Walk your talk
2. COMMUNICATE 
Equip yourself with the right tools to communicate and within no time you can have an effective team of individuals proud of the work they do for you!
Associate 
Establish trust and camaraderie with your employees
Engage 
Make employees feel they are part of the process
Recognize 
Recognizing employees for their hard work shows that you value their contributions to the organization
Motivate 
Encourage employees, make them feel comfortable in that environment and they will perform better
3. CONFLICT MANAGEMENT 
Conflict management skills are an essential to improve company operations and workflow
Problem Solving 
Seek to build your problem solving skills
Facilitate 
Establish a dialogue and negotiate
Optimistic Approach 
Build a positive relationship
Ultimately these steps will create a positive learning climate and further enhanceyour organizational performance!
