Navsahyadri Distributes X–Culture Certificates
The process of getting international exposure to cross-cultural requirements coupled
with latest learning skills requisite for getting industry-ready is paramount in today’s
world for the B-School students. This has been necessitated because of shrinkage in
geographical limits.Besides, this need of international exposure has also become
important due to the industry getting new dimensions on its scale and innovativeness on
various fronts. Typical operations of industry in the new world order are either
converging into new nomenclatures or getting new titles and ingredients into them. It will
be far more difficult to absorb the orthodoxically churned out students from B-Schools
and stay competitive as well. Getting hands-on experiments with requisite skills though
using the basic fundaments or principles of management would be highly desirable.
Thus any B-School that provides such platform to the management students will
become a hot-cake learning centre – location immaterial.
North Carolina University, USA launched its project-based learning program named X-
Culture in 2010 by permitting the students across the globe to participate in it. Students,
during the course of these projects are allotted with live projects from the industry from
different countries. They are distributed in small teams of 6-8 participants wherein each
one of them hails from different country and background. These projects are then
concurrently evaluated by the team of experts from the industry and academia to ensure
result-oriented output at the end of 10-12 weeks of rigorous inputs. To be part of this
International program and project-based learning, 58 MBA students from Navsahyadri
Group of Institutes, Faculty of Management – MBA, Pune took active part in the same.
And 30 of them having completed and submitted their projects have been awarded with
the International Certificates.Thus a matter of great pride for our MBA students. These
X-culture certificates were given away by Dr. K S Charak, Director of the institute.
Course Design
There is quality training and competitions among participants in X- culture.Every
semester, thousands of students and professionals from over 40 countries take part in
the X-Culture competition. For several months, they work together on business projects
presented by corporate partners
The students work in international teams with peers from around the world.
They solve real-life problems presented by real-life companies.
 In the process, they learn about other countries and cultures, learn how to
collaborate online and work as a team.
 They compete, collaborate, learn the challenges and best practices of international
business consulting
 Weekly report and progress are verified and even evaluated by group members
 Group members used various means of communications to communicate effectively
such as skype, whatsapp individually as well as in conference.
 Time zones and language though a barrier but effectively overridden by using
various means of communication.
 There is theoretical Training of4 weeks which consist the following contents.
o Cross-cultural communication.
o Problem solving in teams.
o Team leadership.
o Online collaboration tools.
o The art of writing winning business proposals.
o Plagiarism and academic referencing.
o The basics of International Business.
 There is practical training of8 weeks which consist the following contents.
o The trainees are placed in international teams.
o 6 people per team, each in a different country.
o Real companies present real international business challenges.
o Real time zones, real cultural differences.
o All communication areonline and in English.
o Live webinars with the client CEOs.
 There are Post-Project Reflection of 4 weeks
o Trainees present their work at an online teleconference.
o Trainees receive X-Culture International Business Certificates and
Recommendation letters.
o Best students are invited to the X-Culture Symposium.

X culture certification

  • 1. Navsahyadri Distributes X–Culture Certificates The process of getting international exposure to cross-cultural requirements coupled with latest learning skills requisite for getting industry-ready is paramount in today’s world for the B-School students. This has been necessitated because of shrinkage in geographical limits.Besides, this need of international exposure has also become important due to the industry getting new dimensions on its scale and innovativeness on various fronts. Typical operations of industry in the new world order are either converging into new nomenclatures or getting new titles and ingredients into them. It will be far more difficult to absorb the orthodoxically churned out students from B-Schools and stay competitive as well. Getting hands-on experiments with requisite skills though using the basic fundaments or principles of management would be highly desirable. Thus any B-School that provides such platform to the management students will become a hot-cake learning centre – location immaterial. North Carolina University, USA launched its project-based learning program named X- Culture in 2010 by permitting the students across the globe to participate in it. Students, during the course of these projects are allotted with live projects from the industry from different countries. They are distributed in small teams of 6-8 participants wherein each one of them hails from different country and background. These projects are then concurrently evaluated by the team of experts from the industry and academia to ensure result-oriented output at the end of 10-12 weeks of rigorous inputs. To be part of this International program and project-based learning, 58 MBA students from Navsahyadri Group of Institutes, Faculty of Management – MBA, Pune took active part in the same. And 30 of them having completed and submitted their projects have been awarded with the International Certificates.Thus a matter of great pride for our MBA students. These X-culture certificates were given away by Dr. K S Charak, Director of the institute.

Course Design There is quality training and competitions among participants in X- culture.Every semester, thousands of students and professionals from over 40 countries take part in the X-Culture competition. For several months, they work together on business projects presented by corporate partners The students work in international teams with peers from around the world. They solve real-life problems presented by real-life companies.  In the process, they learn about other countries and cultures, learn how to collaborate online and work as a team.  They compete, collaborate, learn the challenges and best practices of international business consulting  Weekly report and progress are verified and even evaluated by group members  Group members used various means of communications to communicate effectively such as skype, whatsapp individually as well as in conference.  Time zones and language though a barrier but effectively overridden by using various means of communication.  There is theoretical Training of4 weeks which consist the following contents. o Cross-cultural communication. o Problem solving in teams. o Team leadership. o Online collaboration tools. o The art of writing winning business proposals. o Plagiarism and academic referencing. o The basics of International Business.  There is practical training of8 weeks which consist the following contents. o The trainees are placed in international teams. o 6 people per team, each in a different country. o Real companies present real international business challenges. o Real time zones, real cultural differences. o All communication areonline and in English. o Live webinars with the client CEOs.  There are Post-Project Reflection of 4 weeks o Trainees present their work at an online teleconference. o Trainees receive X-Culture International Business Certificates and Recommendation letters. o Best students are invited to the X-Culture Symposium.
