Onions and garlic contain properties that are helpful for fighting colds, lowering blood pressure, acting as a heart tonic, purifying blood, relieving coughs, thinning blood, killing bacteria, and more. Disinfecting Wounds
Chopped, diced, or squeezed for its juice, the onion disinfects
wounds. Mix the onion with apple cider vinegar and apply to the
wound.
Hot Potatoes and Onion,
Inhalation
For congestion, particularly

steam of boiled potatoes and

2. Onions
Onions are very good for the entire body. Onions and Garlic
have similar qualities that are extremely helpful in many
situations.
Listed below are some ways that they benefit the system:-
HOW MUCH TO USE
Half a raw onion a day can boost your good HDL blood cholesterol by
an average of 30 percent.
A tablespoon of cooked onions will lower the clotting tendency of the
blood thus reducing the chance of stroke.
A half a cup of onions raw or cooked can clean your blood, thus keep-
ing the blood in great shape.
Two ounces of onion juice per day will lower your blood pressure.
Anti-asthmatic Onion
Onions, from the family as garlic, possess anti-asthmatic properties.
The onion’s action in relieving asthma is due to its ability to inhibit the
production of compounds which cause the bronchial muscle to spasm
along with its ability to relax the bronchial muscle. Place a bowl of slice
or chopped onions by your bed. Breathing the fumes of the onion will
help open up and purify the sinuses.

Cut up two raw onions and let them soak for 24 hours in one quart of
distilled water. Strain, and teaspoon the juice to the child throughout
the day. A little water may be added to dilute the taste. Honey maybe
added if necessary to make taste palatable. (This should be used with
and enema, made from equal parts of plantain and catnip, and black
walnut in the
proper dose.
Cough Syrup
To make a cough
syrup stir one pint
of chopped onion
in one-half cup of honey and add 1/2 tsp. Cayenne. Keep the mixture
warm by placing in hot water or a warm place. Take 1tsp.
As needed.
Bladder Infection
Take the juice of 3 onion, 3 radishes,
and 5 lemons, mix and take 1 tsp. 5
times daily,
Dry Eyes
For congested or dry
eyes, peel and chop
onions, so that tear
duct opens.
Boils
Boil onion until soft, or if raw, mash to a pulp, and
add vegetable oil to keep them from hardening,
Spread this mixture on a cloth and apply to the
boil. This is also stimulating to sluggish or slow
sores.
Influenza
Take two chopped garlic bulbs and three
chopped onions bulbs and place in a blender and
blend with a small amount of water. Add 3 Tbsp.
of olive oil to this mixture.
Give 1 Tbsp. as needed.
Gout
Make a raw
onion poultice
or grating the
onion and put
it over the
affected area.
Leave it on all
night.
Fingernails & Toenails
Brittle finger or toenails can be improved by
rubbing in the juice of an onion several times a
day. You may cut an onion and rub the juice di-
rectly on the nails or juice the onion and use the
juice throughout the day.
