Flux, the original GitOps project, began its development in a small London office back in 2017 with the goal to bring continuous delivery (CD) to developers, platform and cluster operators working with Kubernetes. About a year ago data streams team at Wix has released to open-source its Kafka client SDK wrapper called Greyhound. Greyhound offers rich functionality like message processing parallelisation and batching, various fault tolerant retry policies and much more. This talk will show how the team designed Greyhound with a layered architecture to allow both public and private parts and also different levels of flexible configuration. How it automatically syncs only relevant code from private repo to public one and also how it securely accepts public PRs back to the private repo. This year, Geko has been invited by Dataops Barcelona 2019 to participate as a speaker in one of the several sessions available this year. Because Geko is a specialized company in CI/CD and Devops, the session offered by Geko was dedicated to Gitops and Jenkins X. In this session we talked about the importance of Gitops, IaC and how Jenkins X can help us with the CD part with a Kubernetes cluster. With Jankins X we can deploy an entire Kubernetes cluster just executing one command. Jenkins X helps us to start to develop and deploy our applications in Kubernetes in an easy way and without any strong knowledge about Docker and Kubernetes. But not only that, with Jenkins X we can define any kind of complex CI/CD pipeline in order to boost our application deployment and reliability.

Agility and heterogeneity, however, jeopardize data exchanges because representations may build on varying ontologies and data consumers may not rely on the semantic correctness of their queries in the context of semantically heterogeneous, evolving data spaces. Graph data spaces are one example of a powerful model for representing and querying data whose semantics may change over time. To assert and enforce conditions on individual graph data spaces, shape languages (e.g SHACL) have been developed. We investigate the question of how querying and programming can be guarded by reasoning over SHACL constraints in a distributed setting and we sketch a picture of how a future landscape based on semantically heterogeneous data spaces might look like.
