What is FIND?
4. FINDTHEPROBLEM
The phrase “at-risk youth” is used to
define adolescents who are less likely to
transition successfully into adulthood, and
achieve economic self-sufficiency. Various
socioeconomic factors can contribute to
this challenge:
•Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE)
•Low-income status
•New-American status
•Minority status
•Gender
•Limited access to resources
In addition, marginalized youth face
significant barriers to employment related
to the lack of diversity in the technology
field. This deficiency of exposure, in a
growing sector of the economy, increases
their risk of becoming trapped in cycles of
intergenerational poverty.

15. FIND has been well received by the Utah community; Young adults across the Wasatch
Front and rural areas; parents; businesses; local government, and foundations. To serve
Utah’s youth at full capacity, FIND is gearing up to demonstrate its impact to current and
potential supporters.
In January 2017, FIND will launch its pilot cohort.
15 young adults will be hired for a condensed, six month program. Providing the opportunity
to adjust curriculum as needed, align outcomes, and begin developing data to show the
impact of the FIND program.
There are still a few milestones that need to be reached. Your support will not only help 15
local youth, it will move FIND’s closer to its goal of serving young adults all across Utah,
including rural areas, and young adults involved in the juvenile justice system.
