7. FREQUENT QUESTIONS
1. What is Frequency?
Frequency is the software resource to create your own data runs within the results for the
market. It is a very ‘User Friendly’ resource.
There are two versions of Frequency available – a desktop version and a mobile / tablet
version. The desktop version is the FULL version whereas the mobile version provides a
general All People 10+ statistic.
2. How do I access Frequency?
Frequency does not require installation, it is a web based resource. You simply need to
speak to your Media Federation of Australia contact to arrange your access.
3. What does Frequency Provide?
Frequency provides regional survey statistics including: Station Listened to Most, Cume
Reach (00’s), Unduplicated Cume, Cume Reach %, Exclusive Audience and Session or
Daypart Statistics. The major difference in the Regional Surveys from Metro Surveys is
‘Station Listened to Most’.
Currently we cannot run a Reach and Frequency or Single Source data with this resource.
Please see the below explanations to help understand the regional statistics:
Station Listened to Most
Listening is recorded by the respondent as the one radio station most listened to during
the week, that is – weekday Breakfast, Morning, Afternoons, Dive, Nights, Weekends
and Workplace. This statistic demonstrates the strength of the station when it comes to
engagement and loyalty, these people are the core listeners. This statistic is recorded as
a percent.
Cume Reach (00’s)
The Cumulative reach listening is recoded by the respondent as ‘other stations listened
to for at least 8 minutes in the past 7 days’. It is the total number of different people who
listen to a session or station.
Cume Reach %
This is the Cumulative reach as a percentage of the total market potential.
Unduplicated Cume
The unduplicated cume reach for two or more stations within a particular period of time.
Listeners may tune into either HIT FM or TRIPLE M or both, but they are only counted
once.
Exclusive Audience
The Exclusive Reach of a particular station / network with a particular period of time.
Listeners ONLY listen to that selected station, they do not tune into any other radio
station during this period of time.
4. Can I add Demographics?
If the demographic you are after is not listed in Frequency, you can create it yourself in
‘NEW GLOBAL DEMO’ in the Demographics Tab or contact your provider to have it made
for you.
