•the use of social media platforms and websites to
promote a product or service
Advantages
• Low Cost
• Cheaper than traditional marketing
• Big Audience
• Potentially reach millions of people
• Fast
• Instant results
• Interaction
• Direct communication with customers
• Brand Loyalty
• Regular interaction builds relationship
Disadvantages
• Time-consuming
• Keeping things updated and researching
• Long time on ROI
• Takes time to earn a return on investment
• Risk of negative publicity
• Internet trolls can slander your business
• Loss of control
• Negative reviews can go viral
• Dilutes brand voice
• Lack of cohesion from multiple posters can confuse audience
The Past vs The Future
• In the past, people had to go to the store to get what they need. Now,
the internet has changed the way people shop.
• Marketing used to reach people via newspapers and billboards.
• Now, businesses can market to their potential customers while they’re
on Facebook or Instagram refreshing their timelines.
The Past
• Brick and Mortar businesses need to find ways to expand their
business online as well or else they will go out of business.
• For example, you used
to be able to go to the
shoe store and find your
size. Now you have to
order your size online
and maybe even
order them again if you
get the wrong size.
The Future
• The internet has made life a lot easier for people to get what they
need shipped right to their door.
• It also helps recruit people for jobs much easier and faster than in
person.
• For example, Amazon already
has drone delivery.

Conclusion
• So to my conclusion as time goes by, we've seen how social media has
overthrown the market. Back in the days people would use to go out
to buy everything they need. I would say is bad for older businesses
that doesn't use social media, but great for encouraging growth for up
coming businesses. in the future i believe everyone will be using the
internet. In the future most businesses will be using social media like
Amazon and would have completely changed the way we purchase
goods from back then. Social media is good for companies, because it
open all the eyes across the world to see its product just by using the
internet.
