4. Proactivity Defined:
As human being we are responsible for our own lives.
Our behaviour is a function of our decisions, not our
conditions. We can subordinate feelings to values. We
have the initiative and the responsibility to make thinks
happen.
5. 0 Reactive people are driven by feelings,
circumstances, conditions, the
environment.
0 Proactive people are driven by carefully
considered, selected and internalised
values
6.
7. Taking Initiative
0 Taking initiative does not means being pushy,
obnoxious or aggressive. It does mean recognizing
our responsibility to make thing happen.
12. 0 Proactive people focus their efforts in the circle of
Influence. They work on the things they can do
something about. The nature of the energy is
positive, enlarging and magnifying, causing their
circle of influence to increase.
0 Reactive people, on the other hand, focus their
efforts in the Circle Of Concern. They focus on the
weakness of other people, the problem in the
environment, and circumstances over which they
have no control.
13. The “Haves’s” and
the “Be’s”0 The circle of concern is filled with the have’s
“I will be happy when I have my own house paid off “
“ If only I had a boss who wasn’t such a dictator…”
“If I had my degree…”
The circle of Influence filled with Be’s
Be wise
I can be more patient
Be loving
14. Conclusion :
• Changes starts from within, and highly effective
people make the decision to improve their lives
through the things that they can influence rather
than by simply reacting external forces.
• Be a model, not a critic, be part of the solution.
