   Well, thanks for coming. I know I have seen you here at
    Church. I have been coming here for about 10 years, and
    have two children that go to school here and I have been
    an usher often at services. And tell me a little bit about
    yourself.
   Oh, there is not much to tell. We live here and come here
    because it is really the closest church and we wanted our
    kids to have some religious up-bringing

  • 17.  Listen 80% of the time.  Ask open ended questions  Find out what or who in their past influenced them, their family and networks  Follow up on his/her answers  Find out about their motivation, what “makes them tick”  When you feel like speaking, ask yourself: is what I have to say really necessary?  Oh, yeah, don’t forget to listen

I have been coming here for about 10 years, and have two children that go to school here and I have been an usher often at services. And tell me a little bit about yourself.  Oh, there is not much to tell. We live here and come here because it is really the closest church and we wanted our kids to have some religious up-bringing Options for follow up?

Why?  How did you feel the meeting went? Did they talk openly? Did you listen about 80% of the time and talk about 20% of the time?
