profile with the number of publications & citations, and search results correctly.

FROM THE CROWD?
• ORCID (Open Researcher & Contributor ID) is
a persistent, unique identifier that you can
use throughout your academic career.
• More than 3 .0 million researchers have
registered for an iD that helps distinguish them
from others, and correctly link their academic
work and contributions.
• Science, PLOS, IEEE, and other distinguished
international journals are starting to mandate
ORCID when you submit your manuscripts.
• This session will give you a quick
understanding on what ORCID is, how it is
being used, and why.

• ORCID member organizations can facilitate and receive electronic
permissions from researchers so that they can help manage their
ORCID records. For example:
• Universities can assert their researcher’s affiliation
• Publishers can add review contributions for their reviewers
