Augmented Reality (AR) is a means to enhance or augment your real-life surroundings through the use of a
device's camera, gyroscope and GPS.
Augmented Reality adds additional content to a real world view, We ‘augment’ a camera view with 3D
assets , animations, video and interactive content.
AR is about being ‘informative’. It gives additional information when scanned; be it text, movie or
animation. It empowers you and your customers. It enables new ways of thinking, seeing, interacting,
engaging and communicating with your customers and your customers with you.

Kudan is proud to have been the augmented reality provider for unit9′s production of Captain Morgan’s the Captain’s Conquest’
iOS and Android application – Diageo’s biggest game to date.
Solution :
The ‘Scope’ allows you to unlock rewards within ‘the Captain’s Conquest’ by pointing your camera towards a Captain Morgan
product. These rewards can be sold or traded within the game!
You are in a pub with your friends, leaning against the bar and giving your drinks order. Over the barman’s shoulder you see a
Captain Morgan’s bottle on the back-bar. “Y’arr!”, you growl, as you point your camera at the bottle and it delivers you an in-game
reward. The beauty of this concept is that markers for the game may be found in your everyday life; this helps to interlace the
gaming experience with reality, and associates seeking out the product with the fun of a game.
Unit9 had this concept in mind when it developed the game. The aim is to combine real-world activities and currencies with a
game-world, by making these things valuable within the game.

Kudan partnered with Gyro to develop an iOS and Android application on behalf of the BBC, with the goal of showcasing the new
BBC World’s Newsroom in all its glory to the media industry.
A pop-up DM piece was sent to media representatives across the world and once scanned with the ‘’Engage More’’ app. The
users were immersed in a 360 degree panoramic. By exploring the image, they discovered the entrance to the new building with
links to an introductory video.

Over what was the UK’s busiest online shopping weekend ever, eBay Social Shopping — the UK’s first interactive, socially powered shopping
experience — landed in London’s Covent Garden.
Harnessing the influencing power of social media, eBay Social Shopping brought together product recommendations from social networks
including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with eBay’s own unrivalled search data, to provide a live pulse of what the nations really wanted
this Christmas.
Kudan developed an enterprise app for the event that allowed visitors the ability to discover the results of the UK’s most desirable toys this
Christmas, by utilizing Kudan’s technology the empty freight container was brought to life with a selection of magical AR experiences.

Kudan recently developed a mobile racing game for iOS and Android devices that required users to scan 'track markers' on
restaurant trays to activate the experience.
The game drives a highly interactive 'in-restaurant' brand engagement phenomenon with players crowding round tables and
interacting with the racing game creating great brand affinity.
As with all Kudan applications, all interactions are traceable and users compete globally by entering their details, building an
excellent marketing database for the client to engage with following the gaming experience.

Mobile based SLAM technology scans the scene, identifies the ground plane and
places a vehicle in real time allowing the user to explore detail and share the
video/image of their dream car on their driveway.

Using SLAM and vision recognition in perfect harmony consumers
are now able to accurately measure the 3D space and view scaled
furniture in situ.

AR DJ
Kudan Labs, the creative development wing of mobile technology company Kudan, has launched
its latest innovation: AR DJ - the Augmented Reality app that delivers a new kind of customer
engagement.
AR DJ has been programmed to recognise objects, like cereal boxes, and then play a beat or
melody prescribed to it. The user can then change the volume and speed of the sounds and add
effects to mix their very own music track just by moving boxes.
Whilst Kudan has built AR DJ for you to try out today, they believe AR should be integrated within
genuine business solutions; solutions that allow brands to own and retain the customer
experience.
