2. There are times we may feel disconnected from the world. Our actions can seem to be of no major consequences. We may feel as if we exist in our own vacuum.
3. The truth is . . . . . . Our simplest thought or deed – the decisions we make each day and how we see and relate to the world - can be incredibly significant and have a profound impact on the lives of those around us, as well as the world at large.
4. The earth, and everything on it, is bound by an invisible connection between humans, animals, plants, the air, the water, and the soil. Insignificant actions on your part, whether positive or negative, can have an impact on people and environments that seem entirely separate from your personal realm of existence.
5. Staying conscious of the inter-connection between all things can help you think of your choices and your life in terms of the broader effect you may be creating.

Thinkingof buying a stool: The material it is made was once part of a tree The tree was part of a forest A person was paid to fell the tree Another person was paid to cut the wood Yet another was paid to build the stool Their income may have had a positive effect on their families Just as the loss of the tree may have had a negative impact on the forest or the animals that made it their home

An encouraging word to children: A child discovers he loves experimenting Another discovers he loves building things One studies and becomes a scientist The other studies and becomes an engineer The scientist creates a safe and healthy process to purify water for drinking and sanitation The engineer builds an inexpensive system to transport water to far reaching places Millions of lives changed
14. Writing a poem to express oneself: A stranger, reading it online Thousands of miles away, feels less alone Because there is someone else out there Who feels exactly the way he or she does
18. What you say or do can reverberate through the lives of people you may never meet. Recognizing you are inter-connected to all things and understanding your power to affect the world can be the first steps on the road to living more consciously.
