Why Spiritual and Emotional intelligence will be required for a Knowledge Organization: A model for visualization and controlling the flow of intelligence within solution organization

Before proceeding further, I just want to mention that Spiritual, social and emotional intelligence are not the core concepts defined by the western psychologist, I found its roots is in the Indian literature, during my research on the same topics, some of the references are given below, which are taken from great book of psychology ever written, known as srimad bhagavad gita. For emotional intelligence the tresses are found in Chapter 2, verse 54, 55, 56. 
When your intellect, fed up with the bewildering doctrines and their interpretations settles in the steady and unwavering wisdom (emotional intelligence  stithapragna), then you attain yoga. 
O Kehsava, describe the person who has attained steady wisdom and introspection? How does he behave? (Verse 2/55) 
He whose mind is untroubled by sorrows, and for pleasure he has no loggings, beyond passion, and fear and anger, he is in the stage of unwavering mind. (Verse 2/56). 
For social and spiritual intelligence, path is defined in chapter 13, verse 7, 8, 9 and in Chapter 2 verse 72, of the same literature (srimad bhagavad gita).

IQ, EI and SI 
Measure of IQ is based on certain basic and largely inherited spatial, numerical and linguistic abilities, but because it was the only measurable intelligence indicator available in the early 50’s, it was taken as a mark of person’s full intelligence. 
EI is an intelligence associated with how well one react to and understand other people and situations within which he / she encountered. It is also associated with our ability to understand and manage our emotions of fear, anger, aggression or resentment. 
Meaning of being spiritual 
The spiritual in human beings makes us ask why we are doing, what we are doing and makes us seek some fundamentally better way of doing it. It makes us our lives and enterprise to make the difference. 
SI is the intelligence with which, we can access our deepest meanings, values, purposes and highest motivation. 
Key steps for achieving Spiritual intelligence 
Step 1 
Awareness: We become aware that, what we are? , Is everything is going right personally or professionally? , i.e. capability to accessing himself or herself. 
Step2 
Meaning: One has to explore the bigger picture, to make keys that might open the space one has confine in. 
Step3 
Evolution: We try the keys, fit them in the lock and turn 
Step4 
Being centered: we open the door inward and enable, what is on the other side to access us. 
Step5 
Vision: We allow the light from the new “bigger picture” to flood is so we can see. 
Step6

Projection: We project our new level to self in to the new territory we can see a head. 
Step7 
Mission: We act within the new territory and are now aware and conscious of what we are doing within a getter territory. 
It is a feature of SQ individuals that they return again and again on the same idea(s) on the same issues and see more and more each time. 
Important steps of EQ 
The main steps for developing better EQ are self – awareness, self-control and empathy, for completeness here is the brief description about them 
Step 1 
Self –awareness 
 Solicit feedback from one’s manager, employees, and peers about his / her strengths and weaknesses. 
 Using 360-degree ratings and other performance feedback as an opportunity to learn more about how others view about him / her. 
 Spend time in personal reflection about one’s strengths and weaknesses. 
 Keep visible reminders of one’s strengths and weaknesses so that he / she can check in and adjust his / her behavior before taking important actions. 
 List circumstances in which one think he / she have experienced doubt in the workplace. 
Step2 
Self-Control 
 If one is reserved, practice expressing a positive emotion, such as enthusiasm or support, in a situation in which he / she would normally hold back? If he / she is usually outgoing, practice holding back a negative statement until he have taken time to get over the immediate reaction. 
 Trying out on a new behavior related to emotional control in the meetings. If he / she normally hold back expression, express himself / herself. If he normally just come out with it, hold himself back. 
 Practice breathing techniques when feeling stress. 
 Mentally rehearse staying calm in a crisis.

 Given his / her personality, think about ways in which he / she could authentically express positive emotions. 
Step 3 
Empathy 
 Try to put himself in the other person’s shoes. Can he understand his/ her point of view even if he don’t agree with it? 
 Try to anticipate the emotional reaction of people in a team meeting or in another work situation. 
 When someone says something from which a individual is disagree with, active listen his or her statement. Do so in a nonjudgmental way. Notice the reaction that this precipitates. 
 When listening to someone, asking that person to clarify the feelings behind his / her statement, not just the facts. 
 Come up with some suggestions to improve service to his internal customers and ask them if they think individual suggestions would be useful. 
Try to determine a person’s reaction to a change before it is announced.

Definition of definite integration: If  f (x)dx  F(x) , i.e. F(x) be an integral 
of F(x) , then F(b) - F(a) is called the definite integral of F(x) between the limits a 
and b and in symbol it is written as ( )

Here we integrate EQ and SQ within proper limits as these are the variables and changed 
if proper methodology and process are applied for the dynamic change process for 
improvement , but IQ of a person is almost remain same throughout of life ( roughly) of 
a subject ( Person). 
Definition of some important terms used in the upcoming equations 
Sample Team: Sample group of persons, considering their experience with both 
computer science issue as well as application domain issue for the project at hand.

Complexity Factors: Number of source instructions or the number of function points, 
needed to develop the features in a usable product. 
Process Orientation: This refers to the process used to produce end product and in 
particular its effectiveness in helping sample team to avoid non-value adding activities. 
Toolset: Software tools a team used for the development / support / Maintenance. 
Overall Effort: Reduction in effort generally result in reduction in schedule estimate, to 
simplify this one can assume that cost include both overall effort and time , in the term of 
maintenance and support projects it will be thought of in the terms of reduction of 
number of BTT’s ( problem tickets in general).

F = Final calculated intelligence of Team / Group 
Equation (4) gives us final calculated intelligence of a particular team or group, this may me extended for the overall organization wide.

Why Spiritual and Emotional intelligence will be required for a Knowledge Organization: A model for visualization and controlling the flow of intelligence within solution organization By- Dr. Patanjali Kashyap Before proceeding further, I just want to mention that Spiritual, social and emotional intelligence are not the core concepts defined by the western psychologist, I found its roots is in the Indian literature, during my research on the same topics, some of the references are given below, which are taken from great book of psychology ever written, known as srimad bhagavad gita. For emotional intelligence the tresses are found in Chapter 2, verse 54, 55, 56. When your intellect, fed up with the bewildering doctrines and their interpretations settles in the steady and unwavering wisdom (emotional intelligence  stithapragna), then you attain yoga. O Kehsava, describe the person who has attained steady wisdom and introspection? How does he behave? (Verse 2/55) He whose mind is untroubled by sorrows, and for pleasure he has no loggings, beyond passion, and fear and anger, he is in the stage of unwavering mind. (Verse 2/56). For social and spiritual intelligence, path is defined in chapter 13, verse 7, 8, 9 and in Chapter 2 verse 72, of the same literature (srimad bhagavad gita).
  • 2. 750 Bhagawad Gita - A Book of Science, Management & Psychology IQ, EI and SI Measure of IQ is based on certain basic and largely inherited spatial, numerical and linguistic abilities, but because it was the only measurable intelligence indicator available in the early 50’s, it was taken as a mark of person’s full intelligence. EI is an intelligence associated with how well one react to and understand other people and situations within which he / she encountered. It is also associated with our ability to understand and manage our emotions of fear, anger, aggression or resentment. Meaning of being spiritual The spiritual in human beings makes us ask why we are doing, what we are doing and makes us seek some fundamentally better way of doing it. It makes us our lives and enterprise to make the difference. SI is the intelligence with which, we can access our deepest meanings, values, purposes and highest motivation. Key steps for achieving Spiritual intelligence Step 1 Awareness: We become aware that, what we are? , Is everything is going right personally or professionally? , i.e. capability to accessing himself or herself. Step2 Meaning: One has to explore the bigger picture, to make keys that might open the space one has confine in. Step3 Evolution: We try the keys, fit them in the lock and turn Step4 Being centered: we open the door inward and enable, what is on the other side to access us. Step5 Vision: We allow the light from the new “bigger picture” to flood is so we can see. Step6
  • 3. Annexure - 1 751 Projection: We project our new level to self in to the new territory we can see a head. Step7 Mission: We act within the new territory and are now aware and conscious of what we are doing within a getter territory. It is a feature of SQ individuals that they return again and again on the same idea(s) on the same issues and see more and more each time. Important steps of EQ The main steps for developing better EQ are self – awareness, self-control and empathy, for completeness here is the brief description about them Step 1 Self –awareness  Solicit feedback from one’s manager, employees, and peers about his / her strengths and weaknesses.  Using 360-degree ratings and other performance feedback as an opportunity to learn more about how others view about him / her.  Spend time in personal reflection about one’s strengths and weaknesses.  Keep visible reminders of one’s strengths and weaknesses so that he / she can check in and adjust his / her behavior before taking important actions.  List circumstances in which one think he / she have experienced doubt in the workplace. Step2 Self-Control  If one is reserved, practice expressing a positive emotion, such as enthusiasm or support, in a situation in which he / she would normally hold back? If he / she is usually outgoing, practice holding back a negative statement until he have taken time to get over the immediate reaction.  Trying out on a new behavior related to emotional control in the meetings. If he / she normally hold back expression, express himself / herself. If he normally just come out with it, hold himself back.  Practice breathing techniques when feeling stress.  Mentally rehearse staying calm in a crisis.

Step 3 Empathy  Try to put himself in the other person’s shoes. Can he understand his/ her point of view even if he don’t agree with it?  Try to anticipate the emotional reaction of people in a team meeting or in another work situation.  When someone says something from which a individual is disagree with, active listen his or her statement. Do so in a nonjudgmental way. Notice the reaction that this precipitates.  When listening to someone, asking that person to clarify the feelings behind his / her statement, not just the facts.  Come up with some suggestions to improve service to his internal customers and ask them if they think individual suggestions would be useful. Try to determine a person’s reaction to a change before it is announced. Applied Emotional intelligence in computer science / Information technology in context to indentify various emotions and IT mapping Personality Type in IT Compulsion Emotion IT Strengths IT Weaknesses Growth Direction One (Perfectionist) to follow the highest principles, to be “perfect” Anger programming, quality assurance, testing, auditing, technical support, telecommunication strategic planning, evaluation of system alternatives, group consensus, dealing with ambiguity to Seven - relax the need to perform perfectly, have fun Two (Helper) to help others, with expectation Pride system requirements determination, prototyping, help desk, user training isolated work, data modeling, systems programming to Four- focus on your own emotional needs freeing yourself from need for admiration by those you are helping Three (Status Seeker) to promote and maintain one’s image of success Deceit team leader, IT manager, CIO, high-profile technical specialist detailed “grunt work” with a low profile to Six - focus on working out of genuine loyalty rather than to maintain an image Four to be always Envy multimedia, website auditing, to One - look

Annexure - 1 753 (Artist) unique and different; to avoid the mundane design, visual system development, user manual production maintenance programming, prolonged, procedural programming outside, to high standards rather than mostly within yourself Five (Knowledge Seeker) to seek increasingly more knowledge, mostly for its own sake Greed strategic planning, high-level process and data modeling, high-level telecommunications design, research and development, business process re-engineering people management, user interaction, routine and detailed work to Eight - step outside your own mind to commit knowledge to powerful action Six (Loyalist) to seek security in loyalty and obedience to external parties Fear programming, auditing, data modeling, lower level design, testing dealing with ambiguous situations, accepting new paradigms, conflicting goals to Nine - don’t let fear drive you, don’t make goals so absolute- everything is not “a big deal”; seek peace Seven (Fun Seeker) to have fun, in whatever situation Gluttony system initiation, particularly e-commerce systems for competitive advantage, management, embracing change, user interaction, visual design procedural programming, lower-level modeling, auditing, work with prolonged isolation to Five - seriously learn a few things in-depth, even though it may not always be fun Eight (Power Person) to be invulnerable, powerful, in control Lust management, CIO, champion of change, ERP consulting procedural programming, low-level modeling, auditing to Two - use power not to be in control but to help others genuinely Nine (Peace Maker) to avoid conflict, to seek harmony at all cost Sloth team leader, JAD leader, programming, system maintenance technical support, work with tight deadlines to Three - instead of compromising results for the sake of peace, work for successful results Holistic picture of various intelligence in form of words IQ EQ SQ Reactive Proactive Coactive Dependent Independent Interdependent
  • 6. 754 Bhagawad Gita - A Book of Science, Management & Psychology Devolve Resolved Evolve Possess Process Cocess Detract Retract contract Depress Impress Express Division Revision Vision Expire Respire Inspire Reflective Selective collective Absolve Resolve Solve Monological Dialogical Translogical or Trilogical Observations IQ is the intelligence that seeks to understand the what EQ is the intelligence that seeks to understand the How SQ is the intelligence that seeks to understand the Why Mathematical basics Definition of definite integration: If  f (x)dx  F(x) , i.e. F(x) be an integral of F(x) , then F(b) - F(a) is called the definite integral of F(x) between the limits a and b and in symbol it is written as ( ) b a  f x dx .Thus if  f (x)dx  F(x) then by definition  f (x)dx  F(x) = F(b) - F(a) . Where a is called the lower limit and b is called upper limit. Here we integrate EQ and SQ within proper limits as these are the variables and changed if proper methodology and process are applied for the dynamic change process for improvement , but IQ of a person is almost remain same throughout of life ( roughly) of a subject ( Person). Definition of some important terms used in the upcoming equations Sample Team: Sample group of persons, considering their experience with both computer science issue as well as application domain issue for the project at hand.
  • 7. Annexure - 1 755 Complexity Factors: Number of source instructions or the number of function points, needed to develop the features in a usable product. Process Orientation: This refers to the process used to produce end product and in particular its effectiveness in helping sample team to avoid non-value adding activities. Toolset: Software tools a team used for the development / support / Maintenance. Overall Effort: Reduction in effort generally result in reduction in schedule estimate, to simplify this one can assume that cost include both overall effort and time , in the term of maintenance and support projects it will be thought of in the terms of reduction of number of BTT’s ( problem tickets in general). Productivity = Proficient teams + great automations + improved Development / support / maintenance process +reduced complexity Calculation of overall effort Overall Effort = (Sample Team) * (Toolset) * (Complexity Factors) (Process Orientation) Calculation for the intelligence of a group I = IQ --------------------- (1) The sign for IQ will always be + Ve E = FE IE  EQ dx + FP IP  EQ dx ------------ (2) If the value of E comes –Ve means reduction in effort and increase in productivity, In case of + signs the reveres result will be expected. S = FE IE  SQ dx + FP IP  SQ dx -------------- (3) If the value of S comes –Ve means reduction in effort and increase in productivity, In case of + signs the reveres result will be expected. If after summing E and S value comes –Ve, the take modulus of that (it gives always + value) and sum it up with I , else go ahead with I , and give more attention to the EQ and SQ implementation process.
  • 8. 756 Bhagawad Gita - A Book of Science, Management & Psychology Summing the equation 1, 2 and 3 (in case of –Ve value) we get F = I + |E| + |S| -------------------------- (4) IE= Initial Effort (Before measures to take to change the effort Through SQ or EQ, values are taken from DART) FE= Final Effort (After measures to take to change the effort Through SQ or EQ, values are taken from effort tracking system) IP = Initial Productivity (Before measures to take to change the productivity Through SQ or EQ, Incidence counts are taken from Maximo) FP = Final Productivity (After measures to take to change the productivity Through SQ or EQ, Incidence counts are taken from Maximo) IQ = Intelligence Quotient I = Calculated liner intelligence E = Calculated emotional intelligence S = Calculated spiritual intelligence F = Final calculated intelligence of Team / Group Equation (4) gives us final calculated intelligence of a particular team or group, this may me extended for the overall organization wide.
