Welcome to AS&T
AS&T are specialists in the recruitment & training industry,
providing a trustworthy and reliable service to many companies
throughout Yorkshire and the Humber region. AS&T have
recently started supplying staff to the Newcastle and
Manchester areas and we hope to increase on these regions
throughout 2014.
AS&T specialise in multiple recruitment sectors such as Driving
& Logistics, Industrial & Commercial, Skilled & Unskilled
Production, Engineering & Manufacturing, Energy & Utilities,
Property & Construction, and finally Environmental & Recycling.
AS&T operate a 24/7 out of hours telephone service and an
email booking line ensuring every position is addressed and
completed in a timely fashion.

Whatever you need
AS&T provide experienced drivers throughout the Yorkshire
and Humber region who are capable of driving vehicles from
Heavy Goods to Vans. We are more than happy to cover short
notice, adhoc placements, but like most agents we do prefer to
offer our drivers longevity of employment which in turn builds
a stronger work force dedicated to serving your customers
correctly and without error.
We provide our client with copies of both parts of the driver’s
license before the contract commences and our drivers are
fully aware of Tacho-graph procedures.

VettingProcedures

Quality assured
Any driving candidates who show interest in applying for a position
within AS&T firstly have a number of in depth vetting procedures
to complete prior to employment with any of our clients.
Initial pre-screening:
Stage 1: 	 Age (required for insurance reasons).
	 Class of vehicle he/she is eligible to drive.
	 The type of driving work preferred.
	 Points, disqualifications & bans (if any).
	 Regional experience.
	 Hours of work preferred.
Stage 2: 	Current and up to date CV via email.
	 Copies of all parts of licence and Digital Tacho-graph card.
	A recent utility bill with corresponding address to
driving licence.
	 Copy of birth certificate.

Stage 3: 	 1-1 in depth interview.
	 In house Tacho-graph test.
	 In house numeracy and literacy test.
	 Check all original identification.
	Explain the current roles and identify which role would
best be suited.
Stage 4: 	Gain two working references detailing no less than
five years previous experience with a similar industry.
Stage 5: 	To ensure our driver database is current and correct
all employees must without fail produce original copies
of all parts of licence every 3 months. This is closely
monitored by our Resource staff.
	 (AST can implement any further vetting procedures upon request)
Insurance
Peace of mind
AST offer Driver Negligence Cover up to £10,000 to our
clients should the worst happen and all of our drivers are now
covered with the Digital Tacho-graph.
To add to our service we also have the facility to DBS check our
drivers if so required.

Service Level Agreements (optional)
In conjunction with each client, AST create a bespoke,
sustainable service level agreement, clearly defining account
parameters, which will include Account Management, Agency
Performance, Account Billing and Operational Guidelines/Driver.
Each of these areas have processes in place that are agreed
up front and to which AST agree to strictly abide by to fulfil
its obligation to the relevant client.

Key Performance Indicators (optional)
AST work closely with each and every client to ensure
their needs have been discussed and fully understood, their
requirements have been implemented correctly and finally our
performance will be monitored weekly to ensure the contract
runs smoothly and without fault.

Back up plan
Due to AST’s current client requirements, the AST resource
staff are constantly recruiting new drivers throughout the year.
Many of our existing clients work on an adhoc basis, booking
drivers daily.
To fulfil our existing clients requests, AST have many drivers
who are inducted at various clients, opening up a relief
pool. This ensures that all additional bookings resulting from
absence, sickness, etc are all completed.
The main supply of drivers will remain static. If AST recruited
and inducted 3 extra relief drivers this should cover most
eventualities within Warburtons.
