Associate Merchant– New Albany, Ohio
Facilitated cross functional teams’ collaboration, developed/reported valuable selling conclusions to key decision makers,
and leveraged vendor relationships to deliver measurable margin improvements. Promoted from Assistant to Associate
Merchant. Served as Intern mentor and interviewing coach to successfully assist in recruiting multiple new hires. Managed
and trained two direct reports to achieve promotions within the first year.
Designed cost improvement initiatives on the polos and henleys team to beat Fall 2011 average unit cost target by
$0.05 (~1% of total), delivered all Spring 2012 merchandise at -7% to LY cost, and positioned department to beat Fall
2012 target by additional $0.04 (despite cotton cost pressures with prices spiking 246% to all-time highs from April
2010 to April 2011).
Played key role in streamlining/standardizing reporting by utilizing business Intelligence data analytics software
(Abercrombie.B.I.) to automatically distribute weekly reports to all cross functional teams regarding upcoming week’s
critical business decisions (derived information from merchant software). Led training initiative to teach merchants
how to best leverage the ABI software in their own categories.
Strategized, delivered, and executed product style tests to pinpoint emerging fashion trends backed by statistical
analysis and data driven findings that revealed volume opportunities. Leveraged strong vendor relationships to
