Our dear sister grace came to know the Lord Jesus in her teens. I believe those must be some of her happiest moments in life when she found the purpose of her life in Jesus. And for those of us who knew her, her family members, her brethren from church, friends from her life, we would agree that she has a passion for life, a passion for her Savior.
In 2000, Grace began her battle with cancer for 10 years. I am sure that in those years, she would have thought of what are the important things she wanted in her life, what she wanted to do, which lives she wanted to step into. I am also sure that she had thought of death, but moreso, I know she has thought of eternity and eternal life beyond the grave. Her faith in her Savior and His promises has not wavered. Even till the end, she holds fast to the promises of the Word of God. During the last few weeks before she was admitted, she was resting downstairs here on the Sofa and yesterday when I was here helping to cleanup, I was touched to see that on the living room table, right on top is her bible, which is her comfort, her strength. Let’s look at a few promises from the bible, promises that our sister has cling too.
Jesus closes His prayer with a great, heartfelt expression of His desire that we may be with Him in glory, that all who believe in His name, from the beginning of Pentecost until the end of time, may be with Him in His glory. What a magnificent basis for our hope of heaven! And yet heaven is heaven only because we will be with Christ. This is the hope of every believer, that one day we will be with Him. As Paul said, We ... would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8-9). And in many places Scripture brings that hope before us. The joy of the Christian is that in heaven we behold the glory of Jesus, the face of Jesus, the manifestation of all the glory that is in Him.Rom 8:38 因 为 我 深 信 无 论 是 生，都 不 能 叫 我 们 与 神 的 爱 隔 绝 。 这 爱 是 在 我 们 的 主 基 督 里 的 。
Grace is always hardworking, we see even till now the renovations are still ongoing…For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 因为他等待那座有根基的城，就是 神所设计所建造的。Here indeed we groan, and long to put on our heavenly dwelling, so that by putting it on we may not be found naked. For while we are still in this tent, we sigh with anxiety; not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. (2 Corinthians 5:1-4 RSV)
Like a seed sown in summer, it lies dormant in the winter but it does not perish, when spring comes, the plant comes alive.然 而 靠 着 我 们 的 主 ， 在 这 一 切 的 事 上 ， 已 经 得 胜 有 馀 了 。
They ever were and always will be dear to Him. His saints! They were the ones on whom His love was set before the earth was formed or the heavens made. These are they for whose sakes He left His Home on high and whom He bought with His precious blood, cheerfully laying down His life for them. These are they whose names are borne on our great High Priest’s breast and engraven on the palms of His hands. They are His Father’s love-gift to Him, His children, members of His body; therefore, everything that concerns them is precious in His sight. The Lord loves His people so intensely that the very hairs of their heads are numbered: the angels are sent forth to minister unto them; and because their persons are precious unto the Lord so also are their deaths.
