Pediatric Intensive Care Unit: Critical Care ICU Travel Nurse
- Provide compassionate and family centered care for patients (aged 1+ days to 25 years),
who are recovering from surgery or life-threatening acute illnesses.
- Education for patient transfers and discharges from ICU. Ensure effective
communication with multidiscipline care team to maintain patient safety for transfers
and discharges.
- Experience caring for patients presenting with acute respiratory failure, septic shock,
metabolic diseases, severe asthma, seizures, DKA, intubated patients requiring
pressure-controlled ventilation (CPAP, BiPAP), fresh tracheotomies, vasoactive drip
titration, patients status post neurological, plastic, and orthopedic surgery, oncology,
and chronically ill tracheostomy and gastrostomy dependent patients.
- Experience in patient care in the NICU, Pediatric Cardiac ICU & Step Down, and
Pediatric Medical Surgical units.
Johns Hopkins Children’s Center; Baltimore, MD Mar 2013- Feb 2016
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit: Nurse Clinician 1M
- Provide compassionate and family centered care for patients (aged 1+ days to 25 years),
who are recovering from surgery or life-threatening acute illnesses.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to make sound and timely clinical decisions. Ensure
patient safety at all times and effectively communicate the need for care escalation and
pharmacologic intervention when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team to provide evidence
based patient care. Coordinate care for assigned patients to promote the achievement of
clinical outcomes.
- Mentor and precept new nurses during their orientation and first year. Member of the
Precepting and Navigator committees focused on orienting new nurses to the PICU as
well as helping new nurses transition comfortably and safely into their new roles in the
first year.
- Trained for trauma and rapid response teams for Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified.

infection and septic shock, metabolic diseases, severe asthma, seizures, cardiac arrest,
trauma, burns, IVC drains and Codman ICP monitors, CVVHD, intubated patients
requiring pressure-controlled ventilation (CPAP, BiPAP), high frequency oscillatory
ventilation, and/or nitric oxide, fresh tracheotomies, vasoactive drip titration, patients
status post neurological, plastic, and orthopedic surgery, oncology, and chronically ill
tracheostomy and gastrostomy dependent patients.
