MCPTT AS – eMBMS Support for Group Calls
• MCPTT AS has a logic to decide when to apply Multicast DL
• Once decided, MCPTT AS trigers the mechanism in BM-SC and
informs the involved MCPTT clients to connect to the Multicast
bearer
• MCPTT AS sends the audio flow to the BM-SC via RTP/UDP,
controling protocol is Diameter (3GPP 29.468, 23.468, 23.246,
26.346)
• All the involved MCPTT clients receive the broadcasted RTP flow
• The feature implementation in the MCPTT application is dependent
on the availability of the feature on the smartphone‘s chipset.
