  1. 1. Children’s Programs June 2019 Drag Queen Storytime (all ages!) Join us for storytime and musical fun for all fabulous children and their caregivers. This family-friendly program will showcase stories and songs that explore and celebrate diversity and inclusion. Children of all ages and their caregivers are welcome. No registration required. Thursday June 6th, 4-5 pm Central Library - Storytime Nook ®Tales to Tails (9-12) Come read to the animals at Pickering Animal Services, learn about their unique stories and create handmade toys for them to enjoy long after your visit! Tuesday June 18th, 4:30-6 pm Program takes place at 1688 Highway 7 Brougham, ON L0H 1AO ®Planting a Vegetable Garden (4-7) Come help make the library garden a community garden by planting seeds. We will talk about, plant and water our new garden. Dress for mess! Thursday June 27th, 7:30-9 pm Moxie’s Pickering *Canned Wine will probably not be available. ®Pawprints People & Pets Education Series - Sit, Stay, Listen (M) *registration opened April 16th Is your dog becoming a teenager? Are you overwhelmed? More education is always a good idea. The Citizen Canine Seminar aims to shed light on many of the issues that surround the raising of a proper Canine Citizen. We will cover stress signals, use of a tether, environmental clues, barking, attention seeking, problem avoidance, power of play and one of the biggest issues, leash reactivity. If your dog is vocal or lunges out towards other dogs or stimuli such as bikes and roller blades, this will give you some insight. Presented by Gillian Ridgeway, you will be entertained and educated about staying on track with your canine pal. She is well known for her tell-it-like-it- is style and has been a key note speaker at Trainer & Veterinary Conventions across Ontario. Her experience is second to none. Learn about controlling exposure through aperture and shutter speeds, and learn about the various other settings of your camera. Special emphasis will be placed on DSLR cameras. By using online web development software, creating and customizing your own photography blog is as easy as ever! Please bring pictures on a USB if needed!
