This document summarizes the chosen location for a horror film - a pine wood area within Canford Heath Nature Reserve that creates a natural half-bowl setting, isolating characters from backgrounds. The location provides various shooting angles and is far from roads to avoid noise interference. The forest environment fits horror film conventions set by other titles like The Forest and The Blair Witch Project. Experimental night shoots found that a series of lights can sufficiently illuminate characters.

A short presentation stating and explaining the chosen
location of my horror film.

2. Where?
My chosen location is part of the Canford Heath Nature Reserve.
There is an area of pine wood with a hill somewhat creating a
half-bowl shape. This creates an ideal setting as the audience will
not try to see what is in the background.
There are many different angles
available to give the appropriate
shots. This area is far enough away
from the road that the sound of cars
shouldn’t be an issue.

3. Others?
This sort of environment fits with the settings of other films.
Therefore, it follows the appropriate codes and conventions and
so is consistent with the industry.

4. At Night?
This was some experimentation with different light positions to
see how is the best way to illuminate it. With a series of different
lights, I think that I will be able to sufficiently show the characters.
