4. Rather than going up the mountain we followed this canyon.
Creed, my 14-year-old brother
5. As well as a
beautiful stream
Much of the trail followed a historic
canal built in the 1800’s
6. She needs an
occasional break
just like the rest
of us
Cant forget out dog. That’s Kuma (Japanese word
meaning: Bear) our sixth month old Blue Heeler Dingo
9. The views of Zion are spectacular and well
worth the hike: you cant see these rock
formations from the freeway.
10. New Harmony Trail is an enjoyable hike, and as strenuous
as you'd like it to be (you can choose to stay in the canyon,
or climb up any number of ridges). The weather was very
nice although you don't get much shade, since few trees
have leaves left on them. And be sure to bring a pair of
well worn hiking shoes, the left over soot and ash from the
fire will easily ruin any pair of shoes.
