GIBS Business School is one stop for the overall development of young minds through a scientifically designed
curriculum with add-on training and workshops delivered by the GFS (GIBS Finishing School) and IRE
(Innovation Research and Entrepreneurship) School. GIBS Business School’s program structure incorporates
creative student-centric learning with hands-on and experience-based pedagogy for the continuous
assessment of the course. Students at GIBS Business School start their learning journey with an apt ice-breaking
session and orientation program and are gradually introduced to various dimensions of management aspects

published by Competition Success Review (CSR), one of

As we all know, Yoga is a calming exercise for the body and mind. In today's hectic world, it serves as a
much-needed therapy. Yoga offers several advantages for both physical and mental health. This old Indian ritual
is beneficial as it helps to preserve the overall well-being of a person. Its importance was much observed during
the pandemic when people were on an edge and there were restrictions on people's movements. It is true that
yoga not only promotes strength and resilience but also calmness in one's body and soul.
On June 21st, at GIBS, Ms. Kavitha, a yoga trainer, led a yoga session in honour of International Yoga Day.
Students, professors, and staff members all took part in it. Students were particularly pleased to be a part of this
fantastic event as a GIB'ian as it was a step forward in the right direction to support the health of the
administration and students.

CULTURAL EVENTS & CELEBRATIONS
GIBS always cares for the health of the students, staff and faculty members. To ensure the good health of the
GIBS family, the college frequently conducts health check-ups, and they are provided with appropriate medical
assistance, a doctor is always available on call. In case students need to buy medicines, several pharmacies are
located nearby our campus. Also, we have an active first-aid facility.
For the wellness of the student GIBS college organized a one-day free eye check-up for the students and faculty
in association with Narayana Nethralaya, on 2nd June, 2022. The CSR Society hosted a one-day free eye
check-up camp called "Better Eye for Better Life" at GIBS Business School on 2nd June, 2022, for BBA students
as well as faculty members. Under the direction of Dr. Monika, all the safety precautions were advised to be
strictly followed during the camp. The check-up was done by the optometrist’s medical team. In the camp, the
students were examined for common eye problems like near and far vision, internal eye problems like eye
dryness, and eye fatigue caused due to prolonged screen time, stress, lack of sleep, etc.

Independence Day, in India, is celebrated annually on August 15.
Independence Day marks the end of British rule in 1947 and the
establishment of a free and independent Indian nation. The 75th
Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August, 2022 with zeal
and patriotism. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the
flag by Mr. Ritesh Goyal and Mr. Antarpreet Singh. It was followed
by a patriotic solo song, group dance, and also dance which
reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters

THE RUKHSAT – 2K22
Ganesh Chaturthi, also called Vinayaka Chaturthi, is celebrated to mark the birth of the elephant-headed deity
Ganesha, the god of prosperity and wisdom. Janmashtami is a joyous festival celebrated to mark the birth
anniversary of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The festivals of Krishna Janmashtami and
Ganesh Chaturthi were celebrated with pomp and joy on 30th August 2022. There was a prayerful invocation,
followed by dance performances, Pot-breaking and Ganesh Visarjan.

Teachers' Day is celebrated every year on the 5th of September, which also marks the birth anniversary of
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was an Indian philosopher and the second President of India. At GIBS,
Teachers’ Day was celebrated on 5th September 2022 with lots of enthusiasm and fervor to remember and
honour the ‘GURUS’ who are the backbone of the academic excellence of the college. The teaching and
non-teaching staff were part of the celebrations which included cake-cutting and felicitation.
TEACHERS DAY
Rukhsat is the college farewell that will be given to the passing out batch of
BBA. This farewell was done in a way that all the students of BBA were
treated as kings and queens of the particular batch. The event is celebrated
to send them to higher studies or for a job with the blessings of our faculty.
This year Rukhsat 2K22 (Farewell party) was organized for the BBA Batch
2019-22 students on 29th August, 2022. The event included entertaining
games, dances, and great memories of the GIBS family that were shared doing the celebration.

Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated as the day to remember the birth of the
Father of the Nation - Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The college paid
its tributes to Bapu on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, which was
celebrated on 1st October, 2022. The event had a skit and dance
performance by the students of 1st year BBA

Navarathri, meaning 'nine nights', is one of the most popular and widely
celebrated Hindu festivals in many parts of the country. To mark the
conclusion of the Navarathri, Dussehra festivities were celebrated with
the traditional dances of Garba and Dandiya on 8th October 2022. The
event was made more colourful as students of ethnic flaunted their
highly energetic Garba and Dandiya moves.

Diwali/Deepavali is a festival of lights celebrated all over the country. It is
a colourful festival celebrated with the lighting of lamps and bursting
firecrackers. The GIBS family celebrated this beautiful festival on 21st
October, 2022 with pomp and enthusiasm. The event included the
traditional lighting of the lamp and bursting of colourful fireworks.
GIBS Finishing School is a dedicated wing to assist BBA students with start-ups, Placements, and internships.
GIBS believe that “Opportunities are never given, they are
taken.” With this philosophy in mind, Finishing School
strives to actively grab every opportunity available rather
than passively waiting for it to come around. GIBS has
created a unique world-class finishing school, to work with
students who come from varied backgrounds. After
completing the Finishing School curriculum, every
student will receive a certificate, which is known as a
Certificate in Personal Mastery Program (CPMP). GIBS
Finishing School as a core program is a unique offering
introduced by GIBS. The GFS program covers the overall personality i.e., physical, intellectual, emotional, and
human-value aspects of being an effective manager, and empowers the students to fulfill their professional
vision. The pedagogy exercised is based on the “Knowing 20 + Doing 80 = Learning 100” concept. In short, the
curriculum leverages experiential learning to deliver the promised outcomes of the program.

The GFS program would be conducted in every trimester and will be a 2-credit course every trimester.
Trainers will conduct a pre-course assessment and the end-term evaluation for each semester. Continuous
feedback will be given to each student and the same will be recorded.
GIBS IRE Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship) school is a completed action learning school. Every
Friday is dedicated to the IRE school which comprises an Innovation Lab, Research Lab, and Entrepreneurship
Lab. IRE school trains and Equips 12 BBA students on Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship through
activities, workshops, expert sessions, and many more. The evaluation will be on innovative products/ concepts
and real-time research/Business plans developed by the student. The GIBS Finishing School (GFS), and
Innovation, Research Entrepreneurship (IRE) was formally introduced for the BBA students on 11th
November, 2022. The launch had talks by the Dean and the GFS trainers which enlightened the students on the
importance of IRE Finishing Schools in professional careers.
Karnataka Rajyotsava, is a festival that commemorates
the state formation day of state Karnataka. The festival
displaying the unity and culture of the Kannadigas was
celebrated on the campus on 17th November,2022 with
a splash of patriotic music, dance, and play by the
students. There was a motivational speech by Mr. Rajesh
L.Y, circle Inspector, Karnataka State Police.

Every year, the GIBS family celebrates Parichay to extend a warm welcome to the fresher’s batch of BBA
students. “Parichay 2K22 – Aagaaz '', a vibrant Freshers’ Party was organized on 23rd November, 2022 to
welcome the new BBA batch of 2022-25. It was a vibrant event that had dance performances, singing,
beatboxing, rap and many more. Pranshu Kinger and Sandhya L were the winners of the Mr. Fresher and Miss.

It is said “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. Creating and maintaining clean surroundings is highly a need of the
hour. Swachata Abhiyan, an initiative under the CSR society took place on 30th November 2022 in collaboration
with Hoovinahole Prathistana. The students undertook cleaning the surroundings in the vicinity of the campus.
The students volunteered and contributed to the grand success of the event.

MDP ON “IS MOONLIGHTING THE NEW MOONWALKING?”
Post-pandemic, we are witnessing a lot of flutter and
restlessness in the arena of human resources. Great
Resignation, Quiet Quitting, Mass Layoffs, and Moonlighting
have been some of the trending hashtags of the year 2022. The
GIBS Management Development Programs (MDPs) cover an
array of contemporary and futuristic management topics
which are relevant to Corporates, Academia, and Management
Students. GIBS Business School organized a Management
Development Program (MDP) on IS MOONLIGHTING THE NEW
MOONWALKING on Nov 30, 2022. The participants in the
program were 445 across India both academician and corporate

and volunteering on 4th December, 2022. They had a great experience and exposure to understanding the
culture and legacy of the engineering and technology giant. GIBS students got a great experience from the
opportunity given by Bosh.

The E-Summit'23 was held on 4th December,2022 by the E cell of IIT
Bombay to encourage and celebrate entrepreneurs and rethink India's
start-up ecosystem. GIBS BBA first-year students (Omar, Pranshu,
Shubham, Amal J, and Harris) participated and pitched their startup
ideas there. A few of the events conducted by the E-Summit are the
Investor Conclave, Idea verse, 2 Minute 2 Pitch, Investor Speed Dating,
Chat with Entrepreneurs and Start-up Expo. GIBS students had the
opportunity to network with various businessmen and investors who
shared their perspectives on various topics and how they view particular
circumstances in our nation's expanding economy.
At GIBS, joining a society is one of the finest ways to make friends, pick up new skills, and gain confidence. For
all types of students, GIBS offers a number of societies. Through these societies, students can develop their skills,
network, and knowledge, which will make them more adaptable. 17 The student’s experience at GIBS is
corporate-like thanks to the societies there. They conduct business, but on a lower scale. Societies are the ideal
venues for students who have never worked in a business environment and want to experience what it’s like.
They will get knowledge in event promotion, money management, operating maintenance, and most
significantly, managing people. It gives students a ton of incredible opportunities to network with other
students, faculty, and leaders in the field. The finest locations to display their hidden abilities or skills or to
discover new ones are by participating in them. Students are the ones that drive societies. Some significant
societies at GIBS enable students to serve as executive members and regularly display their talents by giving
back to society. The executive committee of each society will choose and elect the junior students in the first
trimester. Additionally, one student may join several societies. There will be a chairperson, president, secretary,
and three to four executive members in every society.

The society's launch for the BBA students was held on 14th
December 2022. The coordinators of the various societies
introduced and presented the list of activities to be
conducted under their societies.

Entrepreneurship Mela '' was held on 19th December 2022 by GIBS Business School in
Bangalore with the objective of practicing entrepreneurship skills in PGDM students.
In a single place, there are so many different products sold like fruit shakes, noodles,
dosa, Panner Tikka, mocktails, pickles, paw bhaji, and accessories that were prepared
and sold by students at GIBS campus. GIBS students used different marketing
strategies in order to make profits.
Physical Education is an integral part of the total
education system. It helps in the attainment of the
ultimate aim of education i.e. the achievement of holistic
development. Games and Sports play a vital role in the
student's life. A student should study hard to be
successful in competitive examinations. But, he/she
should also play games and sports to enjoy the health
and vigor of life. Along with bookish learning, a student
should spend his time on games and sports also. On 26th
December 2022, GIBS organized ‘a sports day’ to the BBA
students, both indoor games (chess, table tennis and
carroms) and outdoor games (volley ball and throw ball)
in the college itself.

GIBS Business School organized a trip on 27th
December 2022 (Tuesday) to the Pyramid Valley
Meditation Centre, Bangalore, for BBA students
and faculty. It was a fantastic event that took place
in a relaxing setting. The primary objectives of such
a trip for students were to increase self-worth, raise
confidence and self-esteem, and improve memory
and concentration. Even to improve relationships

Christmas is the festival of joy that marks the birth of Jesus Christ. The students and staff bid a befitting farewell
to 2022 and welcomed the year 2023 by organizing various fun-filled activities on 30th December, 2022, dance
sessions and many other activities. The Christmas and New Celebrations took place at the rooftop cafeteria of
the campus which included the singing of carols, distribution of chocolates, and high tea.

Republic Day is celebrated on the 26th January every year to
mark the day on which our constitution came into effect. It is also
the day in which our country became truly democratic and
republic. The 74th Republic Day celebrations began with the
hoisting of the flag by the Managing Director, followed by the
singing of the national anthem. Also, as part of the CSR initiative,
blankets were distributed to provide warmth and comfort to the
underprivileged in the community
160th Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, which is marked
as National Youth Day was celebrated in GIBS Business School
on 17th January 2023. The celebrations commenced with the
garlanding of Swami ji's portrait by a group of dignitaries and
students. Students of V semester introduced the Chief Guest of
the day, Sri Santosh Kumar Chander, Founder president of
noble thoughts society. He has narrated the life story of Swami
Vivekananda, and explained the interesting and important
turning points of Swami Vivekananda life in India and abroad.
Also, he mentioned the contributions of Swamy Vivekananda to
our great nation India and its younger generation. Really his talk
on Swamy Vivekananda has triggered the young minds of GIBS
towards the social service. At last the speaker provided books for the students of GIBS Business school.

A session on “Gender sensitization” was held on 22nd October
2022. By Ms. Bhargabi Baruah, LLB, LLM. The speaker started
the session with a short Japanese story about a boy named
Hokaidu. As quoted by ma'am, the moral of the story was “Turn
your weakness into strengths and adversities into
opportunities”. The speaker also spoke about the difference
between sex and gender, and transgenders. She also gave the
students an insight into the Indian constitution, its provisions,
and its various acts. During the session every 15 minutes, resource person discussed new topics and kept the
session very interesting by narrating many stories and cases of the past along with videos.
Ms. Shikha Nag, GIBS Finishing School Faculty, Founder Director at
Indian Academy of Public Speaking, Author, and TEDx Speaker
conducted an amazing session on ‘How entrepreneurs can use Design
Thinking?’ on November 18th, as part of the IRE Talk Series. The session
was quite interesting and helped the participants to understand the
process and importance of design thinking for a successful
entrepreneurial journey.

Fantastic IRE talk was delivered by Ms. Reenaa Verma - Mrs. India - IAB 2019,
Faculty at GIBS Finishing School, Certified Image Consultant, Certified
NABET Trainer, IMPA Certified professional, President of The Gabbys
Toastmasters Club, ISO of Inner Wheel Club of Bangalore Blossoms to our
line-up of speakers at the GIBS IRE Talks Series on “Personal Branding
Impression Management” at GIBS Business School, Bangalore on 9th
December, 2022. The session was very thought-provoking for everyone. The
session was well applauded by the participants.
A session on ‘Treating Family Finance as a Business’ was conducted as a part
of the IRE Talk Series by Mr. Chinmay Ananda – financial educator, author,
and investor on 16th December 2022. The session helped the participants on
how one can manage finance at a personal level and how the budget to be
planned and executed for the family.
Mr. Kiran Bindu, Principal (Mellen Capital) conducted a session on ‘Financial
Markets in 2023’ on 27th December, 2022 during the IRE Talk Series. In this session,
he gave an overview of the financial outlook for 2023 as well as growth and
projections of financial markets. He explained how to invest in the financial
market for a long-term return, with an example of mid-cap and large-cap shares.
It was a very informative session. He also emphasized everyone to open a DEMAT
account for trading.
A wonderful session on ‘Enterprise Blockchain Value Proposition’ was conducted
on 5th January 2023, by Mr. Kiran Babu C V – Data Science trainer and Research
Faculty at GIBS. He explained the Benefits of blockchain that have the attribute to
provide KYC, security, anonymity, and data integrity without any third-party
organization while controlling transactions. In this session, he covered the
importance of blockchain in the enterprise, business, and three categories of the
value blockchain. The session was very informative.
On 17th January 2023, Dr. Rashmi Devanath, a visiting faculty conducted an IRE Talk
on ‘Cultural Dexterity in Leading Innovation’. The components of cultural Dexterity,
using cultural Dexterity how to develop competencies, changes in mindset, and
behavior, all these topics were covered by the resource person. The session was very
informative and useful.

Ms. Paulami Niyogi - Life Coach, Motivational Speaker, Founder MD at Guide to Goal
conducted a session on ‘Mindfulness and Productivity’ on 27th January, 2023. She
explained about three principles, four elements, factors, seven pillars, and benefits of
mindfulness. How one can do the work mindfully and increase productivity was
explained in a simple way. The session was very useful.
On 27th July, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Mr. Ajit Kaikin, Director of Buoyancee
Growth Corporate Training, conducted a JOL session for the entire teaching
community on Empowering students’ excellence”. The session started with a welcome
note by Dr. Lakshmi R. B. The training session aided the teaching staff in
comprehending the methods that improve classroom management and the role that
instructors can play as facilitators of productive learning. The session was much
appreciated by all the faculty
Dr. Pavan Soni, an evangelist for innovation, had another engaging FDP to the
GIBS teaching community on Best Teaching Practices on 22nd August, 2022. The
finest teaching strategies for encouraging student participation and improving
classroom effectiveness were discussed in an interactive session. The trainer
highlighted how professors may assist students in achieving their learning
objectives and assisted the staff in understanding the learning interventions that
can improve classroom instruction. The session also demonstrated how excellent
teaching may assist in assessing students' needs and enabling them to determine
which classroom tactics may be beneficial.
There was a session on “Experiential Learning” by Mr. Bharat Gopalan, Director
of Bumblebee on 21st September 2022 for the GIBS teaching fraternity. The
session was all about discussions on •How we learn/ we make people learn –
four ways •Blind spots to skill mastery – four stages •Flow- Optimal Challenge
zone •Experiential Learning- Four steps •Discovering our Learning Styles The
trainer helped the staff to understand that when we learn from our experience
based on the conclusions we draw from our experience, which can be a new
insight triggering new action. All the faculty enjoyed the session.

A fantastic session was held as a part of the GIBS Joy of Learning program. It was
only for the GIBS Team. On 18th October, 2022. Mr.Vasudevan Murthy, CEO Director
of Principals Consultant India, engaged the teaching fraternity on Industry 4.0 -
Revisiting Industry-Academia partnership. The session was very engaging and
helped the faculty to understand contemporary management practices.
On 15th December, 2022, Dr. Uma Sreedhar, Professor of business
management at Alliance University took a session on Adaptability and
Accountability at GIBS Business School under ‘Joy of Learning’. The resource
person was introduced by Prof. Girish Babu M. Dr. Uma started the session with
a small icebreaker game. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all faculty members.
She then gave various examples of adaptability and shared her experiences
related to adaptability. All the faculty members enthusiastically participated
and enjoyed the session.
On 18th January, 2023, Dr. Nitin Barekare, Vice President, HR- Omega healthcare,
took a session on “Breakthrough leadership and organizational learning” at our
institute. The resource person of the day was introduced by Prof. Girish. Dr. Nitin
started the session by giving a description of the leaders of today and leadership
for tomorrow. He spoke about the various factors of motivation and demotivation.
The session was concluded by giving a description of the millennial mindset and
the benefits of mindfulness. All faculty members actively participated and found it
insightful. These sessions have been extremely helpful to all the faculty members
and were interesting too at the same time. Knowledge opens doors to a beautiful world and brings light to life.

GIBS introduced and incorporated the research series in the month of November 2022. The purpose of the
research series is to gain research knowledge and to incorporate the same for publishing research papers.
During the research series session, hands-on training is provided to all the faculty members.
On 2nd November, 2022, Dr. Muralidhara Anandamurthy - Head, JMP Academic -
India, gave a superb session on Statistical Data Analysis for faculty at GIBS
Business School under ‘Research series’. The resource person explained about the
software called JMP-SAS for statistical data analysis for research. The hands-on
training was given to all the faculties to know the statistical tools called factor
analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA etc,. All the faculty members actively participated
in this session and enjoyed it.

There was a session delivered by Dr. Chitra Devi S, Asst. Dean – BBA on one of the
most discussed topics “NET - ZERO PLAN – An Overview”. The session was delivered on
13th December 2022. The session helped all the teaching fraternity to understand the
imbalance in the current ecology and going forward with the same scenario the world
would face a lot of challenges. This informative session also helped the participants
with the measures taken by the Indian government to subsidize the release of
chemical effluents into the environment.
There was a session delivered by Dr. Lakshmi R B, Asst. Prof on “EMPLOYEE WELFARE
FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED IN THE SERVICE SECTOR”. on 10th January 2023. The session
helped all the participants to understand the various welfare facilities provided to
Differently abled and how it helps to improve their performance at the workplace.

On 16th November, 2022, Dr. Aparna R Hawaldar, Associate of the Institute of
Management Accountants of India and a faculty at Christ Deemed to be University
gave a hands-on training session on qualitative research using the DEDOOSE at GIBS
Business School under ‘Joy of Learning’. The session was conducted for the faculty of
both UG and PG. The resource person of the day was introduced by Dr. S Chitradevi,
Assistant Dean - department of management. Dr. Aparna started the session with an
explanation of qualitative research. She used examples of qualitative research like
one-on-one interviews, conducting in-depth interviews, focus groups, ethnographic research, and case study
research. All the faculty members were asked to install the DEDOOSE app, which is useful in qualitative
research. Dr. Aparna shared the material to work on the spot and also cleared all the doubts. All the faculty
members actively participated in this session and enjoyed it.

Dr. Kavita Mathad, Dean and CGO, was Invited as a resource person for the India Gateway Program for the
participants from Western Michigan University, USA on the theme “Sustainability Initiatives in India”. The
Program was organized by the Office of International Affairs, CHRIST University, Main Campus, Bangalore.

NEP. The students of GIBS are continuously trained and nurtured towards enhancing
their skills and talents across various disciplines. They have tasted success and have
achieved great heights in all their endeavors, be it academics, cultural, sports or even
co-curricular activities.
Ms. Hemadri Tyagi (Batch 2020-2023) participated in the Human Resource event and
secured the winner position during the Inter-College Management Fest ‘AAROHAN 2022
organized by BNM Institute of Technology, Bangalore on 8th July 2022
Mr. S V V Kireet (Batch 2020-2023) possesses leadership qualities and is known for his
involvement in various events at the college. He secured 3rd in IV semester and has been
the winner in ‘UDDYAMAMITRA’ held during the state level Intercollege Fest SAGARA
TARANGA-22 organized by DSBA college.
Mr. Sivaarunachalam K J (Batch 2020-2023) is an athlete, disciplined, punctual and a
perfectionist. He was awarded with Rs. 10,000 and won the trophy for GIBS in AAROHAN,
2022 at BNMIT college. He is a long-distance cyclist who holds the record for a 101.6 km
non-stop BMR. Coming to his academic achievements, he has been ranked 2nd position
in 1st, 2nd and 4th semester and 3rd position in the 3rd semester.
Ms. U Sreelekha, (Batch 2020-2023) is a hard-working student and has been awarded for
her academic 34 achievement as she secured the 1st position in the Bangalore University
examinations consecutively for four semesters.
