Shiro the new beginning
1. Shiro- The New Beginning
S ince the un-likeable childhood of a mere 14 year old, the time had always
been in pain disgrace and agony to the helpless villagers of downtown London.
In this time, children got abandoned on the streets waiting to be re-united with
the family they’ve always dreamed of being around. Half built either houses with
no roofs or doors because the person couldn’t afford to finish the house. The
beggars on the sidewalk pestering people to lend them at least a few coins to
stop them from their endless days of fasting.
And the cause to all this suffering was right now sitting in the finest velvet,
watching a few clumsy jesters and drinking out of a goblet en-crusted with the
finest jewels specially ordered from India. And you might have guessed it, it was
indeed the king. He who couldn’t even lift a finger to help his fellow citizens.
Was chosen by a group of royal dukes from the minister of the grand council.
But right now, you must be thinking: “Who Would Ever Want To Put This Lazy
Old Hag in Place of a Loyal King?”
Long ago when the king was young and full of energy he used to be the naughty
one around the house. The king back then was called Bruno. Bruno liked to be
the center of attention, and to get noticed in the weirdest way possible. So every
guest the stepped into the house walked out with a clear mind of : Bruno?
Bruno! Bruno. Bruno!?! See where I’m getting at?
Well when I say Guest I have to remember to say, Bruno’s father was an
important man (one of the king’s subject’s) And because his father was working
his feet off to repay the debts off, he wasn’t there to witness or see almost well
maybe all of Bruno’s milestones. So from then on Bruno learned to do things
independently. This led to a lot of aggression and hatred. CONCLUSION: Sent to
his room without any supper. But did Bruno care? NO not one bit! In fact, he
felt it quite pleasing to be all alone in his room. During these times Bruno
thought. ‘Oh’ how he thought, there was no stopping him. He thought about all
the birds, bees, flowers, and the bees. He thought of every nook and cranny
that took interest in him. And this led to a lot of questions. His mother’s
response: ‘Bruno Stop You Know Your Father Works Let Him Work In Peace For
Once’ or ‘Bruno Go To Your Room I’ll Deal With You Later’. And that was that.
But did that stop Bruno: No! he just carried on doing what he did best.
Back then intelligence was life if you didn’t know something you were
considered dumb. And that was exactly the type of philosophy that Bruno’s
mother followed.
Okay now that we’ve got a blurred picture of Bruno’s life why don’t we go over
to the present?
2. ‘Bruno it’s just not safe’
‘B-b-but’ stammered Bruno
He knew that his status was a pea drop compared to his mother. But the again
he wasn’t going to give in that easily.. ‘Mum this is my only chance.’ ‘Only
chance for what?’ his mother replied. ‘Maybe If You Ever Listened To Me I
Would Have Some Friends By Now’. After his shrill reply the house turned into
a deadly silence. Only an echo showed any evidence that he had screamed in
the first place. Bruno had been over this before, he was wise enough to know
the routine. He’d seen his Mother’s surprised face many times in the previous
years. But this time he had noticed she wasn’t going to say anything back to
him. He quietly stormed up to his room, quietly muttering to himself, making
careful response his Mother wouldn’t hear him.
As he nervously sat on top of his (what felt like) 100 year old bed. He was still
think of the punishments that awaited him. And too add to all this misery there
was that old creaky bed he was sitting on. It seemed to know every time he
moved , thought, or even the air he inhaled in. To be more exact it gave out a
menacing squeal, which to his bad luck just made his heart beat faster than
ever.
He was sweating more then a 10 hour working framer in the mideast Texas. As
everything started to sum up, he realized the room was now dead quiet. Quiet
enough to hear his Mother’s footsteps, padding against the linen floor. The very
darkness that he once feared seemed to be calling out for him, and for one very
strange reason he wanted to come. Hey but then again when you’re about to be
place in a horrible situation like Bruno’s then why wouldn’t you?
As the footsteps seemed to be coming closer and louder each time, Bruno sat
quite still in a very awkward position. He was about to move and hide when
suddenly the door swung open and flung itself onto the side. Everything in the
room shook, rattled and nearly broke. Even the collection of Chinese dolls
specially made for Bruno’s birthday, were now officially chipped. So much for
destruction proof. Right now Bruno had better things to worry about. This that
were going to happen 30 seconds into the future.
‘O God We Have Got To Get That Window Fixed Anytime Soon’. Instead of the
normal spanking that Bruno usually received, he felt his mother’s warm had on
his shaking shoulder. He could smell his mother’s new lavender fragrance. He
didn’t give one bit if he was allergic to lavender or any find of flower for that
matter all he wanted to do was turn around and give his mother a great big
hug. But the last thing he had expected was his mother to turn around and give
him a hug. His heart just kept beating faster. One with confusion and two with
anger. He didn’t know where it came from. It seemed to have popped out from
nowhere. But he did know one thing and that was with that anger he felt like he
could do anything, anything but turn around and harm his mother. For some
reason his mind wanted him to but his heart wasn’t accepting it.
3. He found that the more he struggled the more his Mother pulled him closer.
After an eternity of endless struggling and ending up with endless failure he
admitted his defeat. ‘Look Bruno I understand that you’re different and find it
hard to fit in.’ Why was she going over the things he already knew? Was this
some kind of crazy scheme for some kind of crazy idea? What exactly was she
keeping from him? Was there something she was trying to reveal? These and a
million more question buzzed inside of his head. Acting like angry bees that
wouldn’t give in without a fight, or in this case answers. ‘I can tell you’re scared’
his Mother continued. ‘But I want you to understand that I won’t give you any
kind of punishment. I want us to carry on like nothing like this ever happened.
But right now I was wondering if you would go down to the market and get me
some apples, I forgot to get them. The O’Malley’s are coming for dinner tonight I
wanted to make some lovely apple crumble.’ ‘What!?!?’ Bruno thought. All that
confusion, all that anger… For a few words and a boring ride down to the
market. Hey but then again anything was better then what his Mother would
have been like if her mood had changed.
As he thought about it the ride would do him some good. He got onto his bike
and rode to the outskirts of town. He felt and heard the bustle of the market.
The aroma of foods all neatly lined up with mini toothpicks. Just waiting to be
picked up. Most of them were for free samples.

‘The king can’t do the job he used to do, we had to face the facts and admit he’s
getting old’. ‘But we’ll have to find another one, we also have to remember that
his family generation stopped right here 3 years ago.’
The head leaders of the loyal grand castle were deep in thought and discussion
of the old king and his un-lucky curse of falling ill. The reason for this mishap
was a curse set on by an evil witch many many years ago. Back then it was set
on a queen and because of this generation stopper all the women in the royal
family have died because of it. That is why now if this old king dies they will
have to choose someone at same level and been respected in his part of region
to become London’s new and improved king…

The sun was setting and the last minute preparations were being set for the
guest’s arrival. Just as Bruno was about to stride up to his room his mother
grabbed him by the shoulder and handed him a very decent looking tux. ‘These
people do business with your father I don’t like them that much either but
please be on your best behavior, if you don’t do it for me please think of your
father. He’s worked very hard to make this deal with them.’ Bruno reluctantly
took the tux and sped up the stairs to his room. In nearly a flash he was back
with the Suit on looking professional and his hair was neatly parted in the
middle held together by some un-noticeable wax. His mother greeted him down
the stairs. ‘You look lovely’. She quietly whispered in his ear. She turned
4. around and faced the guests. ‘Meet my son Bruno.’ Bruno nodded his head
slightly. ‘Well hello Bruno I’m Fleur-Elise but you can just call me Ella.’ Brunno
noticed that she moved as if she had something to hide under her legs. As he
peered closer he noticed that her feet weren’t exactly touching the ground but
her long velvet dress covered all that. With sheer surprise he walked quietly
behind his mother trying to hide the emotions on his face. ‘I am so glad you
could make it, I wasn’t expecting such a lovely couple’ his mum grimaced as
Bruno’s dad said this. ‘Thank-you so much for inviting us we really appreciate
it’ replied the couple. ‘Please take a seat’. As the maids and cooks were placing
the dishes on the table the conversation got awkward and there was nothing left
to say.
