2. BACKGROUND
VR and AR startups have been established by Indonesians for
some time now. Applications have ranged from comercial on-site
to purely experimental. Some businesses have even began using
VR regularly to promote products at on-site point-of-sales. VR/AR-
themed workshops have become rather numerous. But just how
far has VR/AR progressed in the Indonesian market?
Survey conducted by DailySocial.id in cooperation with JakPat
mobile survey platform, to a sample of 1013 respondents drawn
among Indonesian smartphone users from throughout all of
Indonesia.
6. Most respondents do not recognize Indonesian VR/AR company
names, with more than half of respondents (61.14%) claiming
they’ve never heard of any of the Indonesian VR/AR companies
surveyed.
Of the VR/AR companies surveyed, none are recognized by more
than 16% of respondents.
This would also suggest that most respondents have little
experience using commercial VR/AR applications & products in
Indonesia.
