  1. 1. INDUSTRIAL INTERNSHIP Amazon Web Services : AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  2. 2. What is Cloud Computing? Cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of compute power, database storage, applications, and other IT resources through a cloud services platform with pay-as-you-go pricing. You can provision exactly the right type and size of computing resources you need, You can access as many resources as you need, almost instantly, Simple way to access servers, storage, databases and a set of application services. INTRODUCTION
  3. 3. Pay rent for the data centre(infrastructure) even if you do not use it completely. Pay for power supply, cooling and maintenance of the infrastructure. Addition & replacing of hardwares take plenty of time. Scaling is limited as infrastructure is limited. Need to hire a team to monitor the infrastructures 24/7. Difficult to avoid natural calamities. PROBLEM WITH TRADITIONAL APPROACH
  4. 4. AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF CERTIFICATION
  5. 5. • Define the AWS Cloud. • Explain the AWS pricing philosophy. • Identify the global infrastructure components of AWS. • Describe security and compliance measures of the AWS Cloud including AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM). • Create an AWS Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC). • Demonstrate when to use Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), AWS Lambda and AWS Elastic Beanstalk.
  6. 6. • Differentiate between Amazon S3, Amazon EBS, Amazon EFS and Amazon S3 Glacier. • Explain AWS Cloud architectural principles. • Explore key concepts related to Elastic Load Balancing (ELB), Amazon CloudWatch, and Auto Scaling.
  7. 7. Allows user to deploy their applications in various regions globally with a few clicks. It is a worthwhile service as you just have to pay for the service you are using without any long- term commitments. Easy to manage services as you don’t need to spend money on maintaining data centres. Allows companies and startups to use the already known operating systems, programming models, and databases. Offers hybrid capabilities. Provides the facility to easily add or remove capacity. It will cost you way cheaper than other private/dedicated servers. MOTIVATION Amazon Web Services Benefits
  8. 8. DESCRIPTION OF STUDY
  9. 9. Week 1 Module1: Cloud economics and billing The purpose of this module is to introduce you to the business advantages of moving to the cloud. Week 2 Module2: AWS global Infrastructure It provides an overview of the AWS global infrastructure Week 3 Module3: AWS cloud security This module provides an introduction to the AWS approach to security.
  10. 10. Week 4 Module 4: Networking and content Delivery The purpose of this module is to introduce the fundamental of AWS networking and content delivery services Week 5 Module 5: Compute This module provides an introduction to many of the compute services offered by AWS. Week 6 Module 6: Storage The module provides an overview of storages services which are based on four different storage technologies Week 7: Module 7: Databases This module introduces the four of the most commonly used AWS database services
  11. 11. Cloud economics and billing: The purpose of this module is to introduce to the business advantages of moving to the cloud. It describes how customers can use AWS Organizations to manage their costs describes. It also describes Billing and the components of the AWS Billing dashboard AWS global Infrastructure: In Section 1, it introduces to the major parts of the AWS Global Infrastructure including Regions, Availability Zones, the network infrastructure, and Points of Presence. In Section 2, you are shown a listing of all the AWS service categories WEEK 1 & 2
  12. 12. Cloud Security : In Section 1, it introduces to the AWS shared responsibility model, which specifies which responsibilities belong to the customer and which responsibilities belong to AWS. Section 2 introduces to the key concepts of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) including users, groups, policies, and roles. Networking and content Delivery : Section 1 discusses networking concepts that will be referenced throughout the rest of the module: network, subnet, IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and Classless Inter Domain Routing (CIDR) notation. Section 2 provides an overview of the key terminology and features of Amazon VPC, which you must be familiar with when you design and build your own virtual private clouds (VPCs). WEEK 3 & 4
  13. 13. Compute : It introduces to the key concepts of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), including Amazon Machine Images (AMIs), instance types, network settings, user data scripts, storage options, security groups, key pairs, instance lifecycle phases, Elastic IP addresses, instance metadata, and the benefits of using Amazon CloudWatch for monitoring. Storage : The module provides an overview of storages services which are based on four different storage technologies provides you with an overview of the functionality of Amazon Elastic Block Storeand a summary of common use cases. It also introduces the concept of block versus object storage, and how to interact with Amazon EBS through the AWS Management Console WEEK 5 & 6
  14. 14. Databases : It provides an overview of the Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) It describes the difference between a managed and unmanaged service, and provides an overview of how to provide a highly available Amazon RDS implementation. In Section 2, an overview of the Amazon DynamoDB services is provided. The section also describes how DynamoDB uses data partitioning to address scenarios that call for high data volumes and the ability to scale out on demand WEEK 7

  18. 18. CERTIFICATE EARNED
  19. 19. • It made AWS and the importance of the AWS Cloud more clear to me. • It helped me to recognise and describe the shared responsibility paradigm used by AWS. • It helped to explain security best practises. • Gave clear understanding about the pricing, economics, and billing procedures for AWS Cloud. • It described and explained how the main AWS services, such as compute, network, databases, and storage, fit into the market. • Provided the ability to identify AWS services for typical use cases. CONCLUSION
