Based in Halifax but provide services across Canada
Focused primarily in health care (public, private and non-profit sectors) but have also worked in education, early childhood development, criminal justice, community development organizations, environmental policy, etc.
- H&CS has a higher rate of injury than other sectors traditionally thought of as “dangerous” (e.g., mining, fishing, etc.)
Multi-stakeholder collaboration: WCB, government, industry safety association, organized labour, large and small employers, workers
Phase 1 Research: environmental scan & jurisdictional review – stats/data on injury rates/types, some of the current challenges/barriers to addressing injuries/causes of injuries, ID best and promising practices
Phase 1 Consultations: wide consultation within sectors of interest to identify barriers, potential solutions, needed supports
Phase 1 Analysis: use of consultation and research findings to inform priorities for Action – identification of 5 WGs
Phase 2 Research: WGs to review info from consultations and research and ID recommended actions
Phase 2 Consultations: validation of draft Action Plan with stakeholders
