A. Periode Pengusulan Pancasila
BPUPKI merupakan cikal bakal terbentuknya dasar negara Indonesia yang melakukan sidang
pertamanya pada 29 Mei – 1 Juni 1945 dengan membahas perumusan dasar negara Indonesia.
Pada sidang di tanggal 1 Juni 1945, Ir. Soekarno menyampaikan lima butir gagasan dasar negara
yaitu:
1. Nasionalisme atau Kebangsaan Indonesia
2. Pri Kemanusiaan
3. Mufakat atau Demokrasi
4. Kesejahteraan Sosial
5. Ketuhanan yang berkebudayaan.
Soekarno memberi nama ke-5 butir gagasan tersebut dengan “Pancasila” yang artinya lima dasar.
sidang BPUPKI lainnya juga masih membahas mengenai dasar negara Indonesia yang dilanjutkan
dalam sidang-sidang Panitia Persiapan Kemerdekaan Indonesia (PPKI) yang dibentuk pada tanggal
7 Agustus 1945.
