The Challenge: Happiness Quest
This sheet is required. Complete the prompts in the spaces provided below.

Step 1: Pick Three Happiness Quests from the list below;

Perform two random acts of kindness for a stranger (ideas).
Happiness journal: At the end of two separate days, write down three
things that went well each day (a total of 6 things).
Write and send a positive email/message praising someone in your social
network.

Take the Character Strengths Survey (here) and identify your top three
strengths. Provide an example of how you currently use each strength in
your life.

Engage in a new activity to boost your mood (meditate, exercise, listen to
music, etc) for one hour of your day (time can be split up into chunks
throughout the day). Do this two times in one week.

Spend quality time with a loved one (technology free!) for one hour and
enjoy each other’s company.
Gratitude Visit: Select one important person from your past who has
made a major positive difference in your life. Visit them and reminisce
together about the concrete events that make this person so important to
you.
Select an activity in which you have the potential to experience “flow” as
described by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Based on Dr. C’s criteria,
implement two strategies that can help you get into the state of flow.
Step 2: After completing each quest, answer the following questions about your
experience.
1. Describe your experience with each quest in at least a paragraph. Be sure to

I put both questions together because I decided to answer it all in one
3. Quest 1:
I kind of haven’t been taking my nieces out as much as I said I would, but I took
both of my nieces and their dog ( Sophia 5 Madelyne 2 and the dog Fancy) to the
park yesterday. When we got to the park there was four other children there,
didn’t seem like the two adults they came with were paying half attention to them.
As I played with my nieces and Fancy the other kids were very intrigued. They
kept running up to me asking if I would pick her up so they could pet her. She
was running around crazy, so I only did a couple of times. Other than that they
were all playing together chasing Fancy around smiling and laughing.
When Sophia sits in the house she has bad temper tantrums and attitude
problems. If I tell her something 7 out of 10 she won’t listen. When she was at the
park having fun enjoying herself she was nice and listened to everything I said.
Giving us a closer relationship. I know she felt love and that made her happy. I
was so happy inside I couldn’t stop smiling, because I could see it on all of their
faces how much fun they were all having. I love to see children smile and laugh,
because they get to see more than we do. Their imagination is really strong, so
you never know why they have that smile on their face.
Quest 2:
For these last couple of nights I have been listening to positive affirmations.
While I am doing this assignment I am still listening to another. There is papers
all over the walls in my room with my thoughts, my goals, my dreams, my ideas,
and positive affirmations written down. Actually going on Youtube and listening to
positive affirmations make me feel happiness inside especially when I close my
eyes and relax, it is a meditation for me. It feels like I am absorbing happiness,
makes me appreciate what I have now presently. Sounds like a reminder of all
that I have ( and I am not talking about materials ), how I got it, and who helped
4. me get to that point. So many people have helped me grow into the person I am
today and they don’t even know it. Makes me want to show how much I
appreciate everyone around me. From the negative to the positive, from hearing
it to it being memorable words in my head that stay on my conscious through out
they day. Gives me a peace in mind.
This helps me focus on all my school work when I am doing it and keeps me
motivated on what I am here to do. When I am doing my music it helps me talk
about something I know some one can learn something from. From music, to
poems, to what I wear when I am taking model photos. It makes me think twice
about everything I do, before I even do it all.
Quest 3:
LOVE
You value close relations with others, in particular those in which sharing and
caring are reciprocated.
Great example for this today, me and my sisters husband ( Samuel ) got into an
argument. Every one was having a misunderstanding. It wasn’t really what I was
saying, more so how I was saying it, yelling. They left home and I came back in
my room to work on this assignment. A couple hours later I heard my mom
talking to some one, so I opened my door and asked if she was talking to me.
She told me she was speaking to Samuel and he is down in the wreck room. I
went down there and apologized how I spoke to him and told him why I spoke to
him the way I did. He apologized and we told each other what was
misunderstood. He told me “ I don’t hold grudges you know that. “ Which I did
know. I knew we would get over it, but it is only in my character to speak upon it.
That is my sisters husband and he has blessed me with two beautiful nieces and
a gorgeous nephew that I get to see everyday. Apologizing through a text
doesn’t cut it for me ( which I didn‘t because he came here before my phone was
5. charged to send a text ), so I am happy he left something here and had to come
back. I could have just let everything go and not say anything to him and we
would still be cool, but I prefer not to make awkward moments and its only
natural to me. Most people would call it being the bigger person coming to him
first, but I say it is love…
SPIRITUALITY
You have strong and coherent beliefs about the higher purpose and meaning of
the universe. You know where you fit in the larger scheme. Your beliefs shape
your actions and are a source to comfort you.
I chose this to be in my top three because it tells allot about my personality since
we are all taking classes online. I could give you so many details in examples on
this, but I am going to try not to make it too long. I believe and live by the
Universal Law, I know that what you put in will come back to you. Karma, which
can be good or bad. I am a good person with a good soul, It didn’t take allot of
time to learn that. I have always been spiritual since before I even knew or had a
definition of the word “ spiritual “, but when I woke up from the coma ( 2013 ) I
was in for month I felt like I was only resting. Like I went some where and learned
why I was so gifted, like I then knew what to do with my talents and how to do it.
Some times I think if it would have been somebody else they wouldn’t have
made it this far. Every one that at least said one prayer for me helped save my
life. One positive energy being exhaled into the universe with the rest and me
always following the universal law ( which I didn’t know I was already doing
before the crash ) created good karma for me, so I got a second chance. “ This is
your second chance. Here is your booklet of resources. Do it right this time and
do not break the law “ is the message I got.
Everything that I love to do is constantly coming my way, because my lifestyle is
what I believe in and you can be any where you want to be and have anything in
your hands as long as you believe. All the energy I send out I receive back
6. frequently and I am proud of myself. People say I am crazy, and others
understand, and say I have allot of knowledge. People say I am weird, but I am
normal… This world isn’t a problem to be solved it is a journey that we walk
through. When you see the real beauty of everything we are surrounded by your
outlook on everything will change dramatically. I am a piece of this Universe and
I will do my job working hard, hardly working. Enjoying my pay, my happiness
and the love I receive everyday.
Spiritually Divine
HONEST
You are an honest person, not only by speaking the truth but living your life in a
genuine and authentic way. You are down to earth and with out pretense; you
are a “ real “ person.
This is one of the smartest strengths I have because it is beneficial to everything
that I do. Relationships, my education, my family, and to the World. I could go on
for every about this like any other strength I have, but I have a specific one.
If you are not honest with everything you do you will tell lie after lie after lie after
lie. Some people even start believing their own lies and that’s pretty sad.

“ This assignment was slightly frustrating to me because at some points I felt like I
am being asked the same questions in differently. It all goes hand in hand,
obviously. I am going to figure this out by myself right now. I guess it just goes along
with taking the time to break everything down piece by piece… “
Not every student would tell you how they were frustrated and what made them
frustrated. I was honest with you because I know that is the best way you or any one
else will understand my work. When ever I having a feeling it doesn’t matter the
subject or circumstance, I always say how I feel inside. I feel like holding things in
7. end building up and could lead to negativity. It just makes everything difficult. Being
honest is way more than just staying truthful with everything. To be honest you have
to be confident and bold in your words. You can’t care or be offended by the
consequence you may receive or what people might say or think about you. Maybe
that is part of the reason why people say I am crazy. I have no filter on my inner
thoughts or imagination, so when ever anything pops it is thrown out. Everything
starts on the inside and that’s where all my honesty comes from.
Anything new that I learn is always helpful to my life. Personally this
survery gave me a reminder of who I am and why I do what I do. Embracing
everything that I am blessed with from my personality to being able to
attend Full Sail with such bright people. I have new intellectual stuff to talk
about when it comes to my music and this keeps me motivated personally
and educationally.
Step 3: Create a Plan
How can continuing to practice these activities contribute to your overall

experience lasting well-being using your happiness quests as inspiration.
Element Your Plan to Implement
1. Positive
Emotion
I will take my nieces to the park the park three or
four times a week. I am pretty sure Sophia will listen
more. I don’t believe she will think of anything bad
because she is continuously playing having fun,
remaining happy. It brings me joy when I see kids
smiling, laughing. Exploring earth experiencing and
learning new things.
8. 2. Engagement I will continue writing everything down personally with a
pen and piece of paper, working out consistently. This
will help because when ever I am writing or working out it
seems like times freezes like I can work for ever. I get so
focused on the situation. When I am writing some times I
don’t even know how I cam up with what I am writing in
the moment, but it always comes out the right way. Some
times I write better than I can even talk.
3. Positive
Relationships
All the characters the results of the survey gave me
basically described allot of my personality. Listening to
positive, motivational, and inspiring videos always keep
me in tune with my spirituality. Consistently showing love,
being honest, and remaining spiritual will keep me at a
peace of mind. Where I can understand, bond, building
happy and healthy relationships.
4. Meaning I will continue listening to positive affirmations,
because it trains my mind with the meaning of why I do
what I do. Reminds me that what I do has a greater
purpose than just being different talents that I have. I am
Art I am Love, from writing a poem to singing, painting,
dancing, rapping, acting, modeling, teaching and or
listening I am always telling a story. These are more than
just my blessings, I am a blessing to this world.
