Press Note on 39th Annual Day Celebrations
National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual
Disabilities (Formerly National Institute for the Mentally
Handicapped) established in the year 1984 is an Autonomous Body under the
administrative control of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities
(Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India which
is dedicated to provide quality services to Persons with Intellectual Disabilities in the
National interest.
NIEPID regional center Kolkata endeavors to excel in building capacities to
empower Persons with Intellectual Disabilities It access the state of the art
rehabilitation intervention viz., educational, therapeutic, vocational, employment,
leisure and social activities, sports, cultural programmes and full participation.
RC Kolkata proudly celebrated the 39th annual day at Rabindra Bhavan ,
Baranagar Muncipality , Kolkata. This event meticulously planned by the Officer
Incharge , Staff and the Student trainees and showcased this years activities to the
parents and guest followed by ceremonial function . The ceremonial function was
presided by Shri. T.Mugesh , Officer Incharge , RC , NIEPID and the chief guest the
event was Shri.Tapas Roy , Deputy Chief Whip to Legislative of West Bengal
Government . The Chief Guest and other guests lauded the efforts of the RC ,Kolkaata
NIEPID Activities. The show involved most of the students of the school in a
spectacular performance enriched with rich music, costume, dance, and mime.
Overall a joyous feast served to the spectators.
The Press is encouraged to highlight Annual Day activities to promote
awareness and activities of the organization.
