A logical thinker happened to go to a village
to have his hair cut. The village had only two
barbers, each with his own shop. The logical
thinker glanced into one shop and saw that it
was extremely untidy. The barber also needed
a shave. His clothes were unkempt. His hair
was badly cut. The other shop was extremely
neat. The barber was freshly shaved and
spotlessly dressed, his hair neatly trimmed.
The logical thinker returned to the first shop
for his hair cut. Why ?

Martha has to get her two babies, Sara
and Robert as well as the family cat,
out to the car. Because Martha has a
broken arm, she can carry only one
baby or the cat at a time.
Unfortunately, neither child can be
left alone with cat. How does she get
everyone to the car in as few trips as

of a piece of loose-leaf paper is folded
once making two layer. It is folded
again, making four layers. If you were
to continue to fold it once upon itself
fifty times, how thick is fifty folded
paper.
