INTRODUCTION
As it began... Our common work started more
then two years ago when we found each other
on the portal eTwinning. However, if you want
to find the origin of this project, you should go
far in the past. The idea of the project was by
Neslihan KÖROĞLU from Turkish Elâzığ and
Ana-Maria ROTARU from Romanian Bacau,
who attended to an in-service-training in
Madrid that focused on teaching and learning
strategies using games and drama. When the
idea was stemmed from this experience,
Neslihan contacted teachers from Croatia, the
Czech Republic, Greece and Italy, so the
collaborative group was collected. Our
common aim was to start the project based on
creative writing and drama. Before we started
to fill a form for our National Agency, we had
tried to persuade our surroundings (teachers,
headmasters, students, parents) about the
meaning and sense of an international project
like this. Our school, Gymnázium bratří Čapků a
První české soukromé střední odborné učiliště
s.r.o., as a relatively young educational
institution without experiences with the international projects had the main priority and interest in
the partnership with other European schools. As teachers, we believe it’s necessary to develop our
students’ creative abilities and intercultural dialogue. Besides, the project based on the activities
creative writing and drama has a potential to improve the student’s communication skills.
Our form was approved and all schools from the group were involved in the multilateral
Comenius project called LET’S MEET UNDER THE SPOTS.
Finally, this short booklet is the last product and result of previous years of the project
collaboration in the view of students and teachers of our school. This booklet can be seen not only
as the leaflet of the educational activities, but as well as a storyteller of the great story of the
friendship. In each country of the project schools, we met friendy and warm welcome. Thank you to
all of them, we will never forget the experiences with you. We would like to thank to our National
Agency which allowed to our school to participate on the project.

Gymnázium bratří Čapků a PČSSOU
s.r.o. is a little private secondary
school of two departments –
classical grammar school
(Gymnázium bratří Čapků) and
vocational school (První české
soukromé střední odborné učiliště).
The building of school is situated in
the capitol of the Czech Republic in
Prague. The aim of Gymnázium
bratří Čapků is to educate students in the humanity subjects (with an emphasis on learning history
of literature and social sciences – psychology, sociology, philosophy and cultural anthropology) and
art (design, painting, aesthetic, history of art…) and get them ready to studying at University. The
duration of education is 4 years. In every year-class we have only one class, so there are suitable
conditions for an individual approach for all students. It means approximately 60 students are
educated in the department of grammar school and approximately 130 students in department of
vocational school (classical crafts – joiner, confectioner, hairdresser, of business subjects). Today
we have 25 teachers for the whole school.
School activities and regular or annual projects: Comenius Project, Club of Drama and
Theatre, “Public Reading of the Čapek’s Works“(Čapkovské čtení - all-day 24 hours of reading and
theatre) and occasional activities (projects in collaborative with authorities in the security of human
laws etc.)
Ekonomska i turistička škola, Daruvar
Gundulićeva 14, Daruvar
Ekonomska i turistička Daruvar is a medium-
sized vocational school attended by students
of different abilities. The aim of the school is
to get involved in the lifelong learning
programme. The school gives young people
an opportunity to get a degree in various
fields (economy, hotel and catering industry)
with a special emphasis on learning foreign languages. It is a high school in a little town with
approximately 400 pupils who attend hotel and catering industry and economy departments. About
40 teachers work there.

The Liceum of Vonitsa is settled in a small town of Western Greece.
Our town is agricultural and far from big cities, so our children are
socially excluded from culture events and they have no opportunity
to contact with other peers in a creative basis and under a program in
a European level. Our school has joint environmental programs and
has experience in programs, but never in a European basis. The
Comenius program will give them the opportunity and the motive to
practice their English, to learn a lot about other countries and their
culture. Moreover, they will make friends to other countries and
that will gives them the chance to visit or study to one of them, not
to mention the sense of European citizenship that is not so vivid in remote and agricultural areas.

public institution whose aim is to train possible teachers of
future. The school is in the center of the East Anatolia and
offers accommodation facilities for students who are
economically disadvantaged. It has laboratories furnished with
latest equipment and a big sports hall. The duration of
education is 4 years. It is known as one of the biggest and
notable schools in the region as it
requires an academic exam to enroll.
Also, teachers of our school have to pass
an exam for their academic ability. Currently, 420
students are being educated and 40 teachers are
employed.
As it is categorized as Anatolian High School, the main
aim of our institution is to teach foreign languages
effectively. We have departments at every stage which
specialize in English as a second language. The staff consists of young and enthusiastic teachers and
management who can live up to expectations of modern teaching methods. The project team
involves teachers who are experienced enough in projects and most of them have attended in-
service-training courses in various countries.

Let’s meet under the Spots is an educational project based on creative writings and drama. Project
activities were focused on fairy tales (first year) and folk tales (second year) as they provide a common
ground with their similarities and differences in terms of their plots, themes, characters and images.
Students should read the fairy tales and folk stories of each partner country and made new text
combining elements, characters and plots of the chosen fairy tales. The next step was acting this newly-
created text out as a short play. All performances were recorded and uploaded to the website.

2) As we created a new text and performance of the fairy tales (2011 – 2012)
It really wasn’t easy task to choose only one fairy tale of Bohemian origin.
Finally, after long discussions and votes, we decided to choose well-known
fairy tale Zlatovláska (Goldilocks). The original Czech text was translated by
the group of students who could very soon recieve translated texts of fairy
tales from the other partner schools. This exchange was arranged at the end
of October 2011.

Preface
We use the comparative analysis according to
specific features of the literary genre of
European folk fairy tale. We are inspired with
the methodology of Vladimir Propp (The
morphology of fairy tales) and literary
genology. It is typical for Czech scientists and
students to work with Structuralism.
The main points of our analysis are: main
characters and relations among them; magical
creatures and their function; magical artefacts;
imagines of setting (country, interiors);
imagines of Good and Evil; composition of the
narrative; main motives and symbols.
1 Structural analysis of fairy tales
1.1 Romanian fairy tale (The Red Emperor)
The topics are heroic acts of brave
Greucean and his victory over evil Ogres.
The main characters are: the Red Emperor,
Ogres, Faur, Greucean and his brother. Heroes
are Faur, Greucean, who has one brother.
Greucean is brave, smart, purposeful, but his
(anonymous) brother is stupid, impulsive and
lazy. Faur is wise, smart smith, and he can do
miracles. The Orges are the evil beings, making
chaos.
The magical creatures are Faur and the
Orges (they stole the sun and the moon) and
Raven who brought Water to Greucean. The
magical objects used in narration are: the iron
statue in the forge, scarves with tears, and
knife.
The main settings are the Green forest,
The tower, Pear tree, Magic garden, and
Crossroads where heroes decide what to do.
The collision is typical – the contrast
between Good and Evil - between: Smith,
Greucean and his brother, Raven – and bad
Ogres.
1.2 Croatian fairy tale (The Fisherman and his
Wife)
The main characters is Palunko , a
fisherman, who is not content with his
monotonous life and wishes to be rich. His
wife, who is never named in the story, is a
poor, strong girl that eventually makes Palunko
happy by showing him what’s truly important in
life.
Magical characters are King of the Seas who
lives there with beautiful mermaids, and Zora,
who is an underwater goddess, also mentioned
as The Virgin of Dawn. Palunko’s wife speaks
with animals, birds.
The first magical object is a big mill-wheel
that helps Palunko to get to the King of the Seas.
Palunko’s wife plays pipes that have the ability to
summon animals which help on her way to find
Palunko and their son, and handkerchief that
transforms into a sail that helps them get to the
seaside.
The story is mostly set at sea. The good is
shown in the wife. Because of her general
graciousness, she is helped by the magical
creatures. The evil is represented by Palunko’s
greed for material things that only leads him to
sadness and loss.
The narration skips entire months and
years to show that nothing vital to the story has
been happening, that things didn't change.
1.3 Turkish fairy tale (Stone and Patience)
The aim of this story is that the good
overcomes evil.
The main heroes are Shahzadah (prince of the
land), and beautiful girl and the ugly female slave.
The magical bird which refers the magical creature
and this one helps to beautiful girl to find her love.
In the fairy tale there will come kind of exchange
between beautiful girl and the female slave.
In the story the magical artefact is the
stone of patience which the fake female slave
(beautiful girl) wanted from Shahzadah to bring
from Jemen.
The setting of fairy tale is rich in Orient.
The good creature is beautiful girl and bad one is
her female slave.
1.4 Greek (fable) The rabbit and the Turtle
It is not a fairy tale, but fable – the genre
with different origin, composition, and function.
We have to use different methodology. We cannot
compare it with other texts in our Comenius
project.
Characters in this fable are: the Rabbit,
who is a bit cocky and pretentious, and the Turtle,
who is a smart (wise) and self-confident. What can
we learn from this fable? The moral advise that we
shouldn’t judge others just for being what they are.

3 Conclusion
Our humble analysis brings these results: The common features of the fairy tales are victory
of good among evil. Except the Romanian one, there is the motif of LOVE between hero and heroine.
It is typical that too good heroes love themselves and somebody evil tries to destroy their relation. In
one case (Croatian story) the hero is bad, but he is saved with good characters of wife who loved
him. The magical creatures (especially animals) and artefacts are used in all of them. The Czech and
Turkish one is set to aristocratic setting; the Croatian (most original of our samples!) one to the
element of the water (sea). The Croatian is similar to traditional Slavonic fairy tales from Bohemia,
Slovakia, and Russia. All of heroes have to absolve some journey – Jiřík, Greucean, Shahzadah, and
Palunko´s wife as the act of initiation. Jiřík (Czech hero) and Palunko´s Wife (Croatian hero)
understand to animals because of the same reason: they help, they have good hearts, and so they
are helped.
The specific features are the motif of stolen Sun and Moon by Ogres (Romanian), the symbol
of stone of patience (Turkish), the fate of Palunko´s wife who is anonymous (Croatian) and motif of
living and dead water (Czech).
We think that it is possible to use the function of Greek ancient fable I fairy tales because many
of them try to give some moral message: it is better to be patient and humble (Shahzadah, Palunko´s
Wife, Turtle) than proud.

New created fairy tale
BREAKING OF DESTINY Italian partner
school has left the
Comenius Project.
All students involved in the project started to read, translate and create new text very
thoroughly. The texts of stories were divided into larger parts which were assigned to
the groups of 2-3 students. Next step was a creation of evaluation form of elements of
all six stories. This process of project work lasted four months

A NEW FAIRY TALE CREATED AND PERFOMED BY CZECH STUDENTS:
“BRAKING OF THE DESTINY”
Once upon a time, in one kingdom, seven mountains, seven seas and
seven rivers, there was a king who had four children: three sons and, the
youngest one, a daughter.
The oldest son was very brave knight and his name was Gerceanu. The
middle son was Shahzadah and he was very clever. And the youngest´s
name was Jiřík, and he was humble and he liked hard working. Their little
sister was called Zlatovlaska, because her hair was shining like a sun and
flame. She was a fairy lady: as gentle as the first spring blossom, as fragile
as the snowdrop, as kind as the saint. Her eyes were blue as the evening sky
with first star, and when she smiled, it was like morning dew was clinging
on the leaves of roses.
Everybody must love her: father, brothers, and all the kingdom. If here poor mother lived, she
would love her too…But she died in the night when her
lovely lady was born.
In this night, three Fade Sisters visited her. The first
said the prophecy: “You will be as beautiful as your mother,
but you will suffer, because she is dying now because of
your birth.” The second said: “You will be so kind and brave
as your father, but you will suffer in solitude as he will from
this night because his beloved wife is dying.” And the third
one said: “When you are 17 years old, the prophecy will be
fulfilled.
But if you cross the widest sea, put the sun on sky
and turn the dead man into live, you will break your
destination. Here are three gifts: the stone, the hankerchief, and the knife. They will help
you, if you use them well and for good things.”
The children grew up and the old king got older
and older. He started to think: who of his three sons will
be the king after him? Gerceanu, Shahzadah, or Jiřík? All
of them would be good rules…

Finally, the 18th birthday of Zlatovlaska came. She really grew up into the most beautiful and
fairest maid in thewhole world! Big party with ball was prepared, great tournament with riders
and noblemen on horses, and great men from neighbourhood were invited. Who knows,
Zlatovlaska is a girl for a wedding, maybe she will find her husband on
the ball.
The midnight came, and the clock bell began to chime. Suddenly, during
the fireworks, in big thunderstorm
the ogres appeared!
“You have not invited us to the
birthday ball,” one of them cried.
“You have not thought we
could be husbands for your
daughter,” the other screamed. “So you will lose your daughter,
and nobody can deliver her, hahahae!” the third shouted, grasped Zlatovlaska into his ugly huge
paws and they vanished with her in the cloud of sulphur and stink.
The heart of old king was broken. He fell on his knees and began to pray: “Oh help me,
oh God, and give me an advice and the power hot to deliver my poor beloved child!” And he
remembered the prophecy of Faid Sisters. “Sons! My sons! Where are you?”
“Here we are, our father,” three sons said as one man. “What do you want us to do?”
“Listen, sons: who delivers Zlatovlaska, he will be the king.”
Of course every of the princes wanted to rule, who does not?
“I will find my sister,” promised the brave Gerceanu.
“I will find my dear sister,” claimed the clever Shahzahad.
“I will find her and save her, my dear daddy,” humble Jiřík whispered with tears in his
eyes. They packed their haversacks, saddle their horses and set out to find their sister.
Meanwhile, Zlatovlaska was prisoned by ogres. Their giant mother
wanted her to marry on of their sons, but she refused. She cut her
golden hair as the sign of sorrow, the stars in her eyes died out,
her smiled got frozen and she stopped talking with anybody. She
was only sitting in black stone tower and watching into dark with
her blind eyes…
Three princes reach the crossroad. They threw their knives
into the earth and promised to each other: “Let us meet one year
later under this signpost. If somebody of us is not here and there is
the rust on his knife, it will be the sigh of his death.” The kissed

Gerceanu, the brave one, rode his black horse on the right side. He travelled through
deep valleys and high mountains, and everywhere he asked people, if they saw ogres or if they
heard
about Zlatovlaska. But nobody gave him an advice. Many days
later, he met the Turtle by the seashore. “You are searching for
something, I think, aren´t you?” The Turtle asked him slowly,
with wisdom in her old eyes. “Yes, I am, Lady Turtle,” Gerceanu
agreed with a flash of hope in his eyes. “I wish to find my sister
Zlatovlaska, but evil Ogres have kidnapped her and I do not know
where.” – “Well, prince, I can
help you, if you help me,” the Turtle winked. “Oh really? How?” The Brave prince shouted. “Do
you see the island on the skyline?
There are my eggs, and evil mermaids wanted them to eat! If you swim over the sea to the island,
manage to look after my eggs for three days until little turtles are born, I will tell you how to
break the power of ogres.” Gerceanu smiled: “So easy task? Look after my horse, and I am back
in three days!” And he sprang into the water and bravely swam to the island.
It was easy for him because he was strong, well
training. But mermaids came to the shore where he was
looking after the eggs: “Come with us, handsome and brave
hero, come with us! You will be the king of the whole sea!”
And Gerceanu fall in love with the princess of the
mermaids…
Meanwile Zlatovlaska was feeling she is slowly dying…
The middle way was chosen by Shahzadah, the clever prince. He
also travelled through valleys, mountains, deserts and plains, but
nobody told him anything about Ogres or Zlatovlaska. When he
began to be despaired, he met the Hare by the snow plain. “What
are you looking for here?”, asked him the Hare. “How do you know
that I am looking for something, Mr Hare?” Shahzadah wondered.
“I know many things which were, which are, and which could
happen, dear clever prince,” the Hare winked, “if you help me, I will help you to find and save
Zlatovlaska.” Shahzadah kissed him: “O dear Mr Hare, I am able to do everything to save my
dear sister!” – “Do you see the end of the snow plain on the skyline? There are my little hares,
and the eagle wants to eat them. If you manage to cross the field and give the evil the riddle

which he could not answer, I will help you to destroy ogres and take Zlatovlaska home.”
Shahzadah did not hesitate, let his brown horse by the shire of the plain and carefully went
through the field. He managed to find hare´s babies and outmanoeuvre the eagle, but when he
wanted to go back, beautiful she-eagles flied to him, changed into fairy maids and promised him:
“If you come with us, you will rule to the clouds!” And Shahzadah fall in love with the princess
of the eagles…
Meanwile Zlatovlaska was feeling she is slowly dying…
Jiřík choose the left way on the crossroad. He thought about himself that he is
not so brave and so clever like his brothers are, but he did not like anybody
more than his sister, neither himself! He remembered the prophecy of Fate
Sisters, and he was hoping that it is possible to break the course; in spite of he
did not know how. He rode his dapple-grey horse, through the valleys, through
the mountains, through the rivers and plains, through the deserts, forests and
snow plains, and everywhere he could
he helped the people, but nobody
helped him how to find Zlatovlaska.
After many days, he came to the meadow by the
sea, where the old fisherman with his family lived.
But he was not only the fisherman: he was the wise
man and prophet. “What are you searching for,
Jiřík?” He asked, throwing the fishing rod into the
water. “You know my name?” Jiřík was upset. “I
know many things,” the fisherman was smiling. “If
you help me, I will help
you, how to find and deliver your sister. Look: there is the black castle on the mountains behind
the skyline. You cannot see it well because ogres have stolen the sky, they have thought it will
make your sister alive.” – “She is dead?” Jiřík began to cry. “Not yet, but she is going to, the birds
have told us,” the fisherman sighed.
“Oh how can I save her? Please, I beg you, help
me, Mr Fisherman!” – “There is only one way how to
save her, and you cannot be alone. With my son Palunko
you can manage it. Listen: cross the sea, and you will find
ravens on the shore. They promised me the living water,
but they do not want to bring me it. If you reach the
water of life, I will borrow you my own and beloved son
Palunko. He is the fisherman of people: he knows how to
reach the truth, the justice, and the real freedom of the
heart.” Jiřík kissed fisherman´s hands, let him his horse and swam over the sea to the shore when

alive, but she is dying soon! You can save her, but you will die…”
–“It does not matter to me!” Jiřík jumped. “Only if she will live!” “Our children, little
ravens, are dying because of hunger, give them your flash. We will bring the living water to old
Fisherman, and he will send his son Palunko to save Zlatovlaska. Do not be afraid, your pain will
help her.
You are the living stone of patience of her gift, you are the handkerchief for her tears and
blooding heart, and you are the knife who will kill the evil and who will be the instrument of
patience, brave, wisdom and true love.” – “Please tell my sister how much I love her,” Jiřík
whispered, and uncovered his chest.
The little ravens flew to him and ate his heart. Full of power of life, the raven´s family
brought the water of life to Fisherman´s family. Fisherman splattered with the water the grave of
his wife, and she rose up as she was only sleeping. Palunko, the fisherman´s son, sat on raven´s
back, and flew into the black castle, to the chamber of Zlatovlaska.
“The kiss of your brother Jiřík who sacrificed himself to save
you,” Polunko said kissing her. – “What has happened with me?”
Zlatovlaska whispered and the stars returned back into her eyes. “You
are so fairy and I love you,” Polunko told her gently. “We can defeat evil
Ogres together. May the sacrifice of your brother is not vain.”
Zlatovlaska threw out the veil of her cut golden hair, and it was like the
morning has broken.
“Let the see go back to the sky, to the glory of God!” she claimed
and began to dance, full of joy, power, hope and love. She began to smile
and the morning dew fall on the flowers like a blessing. And the sun really was put back on the
sky!
“Love! True love! Help!” The ogres screamed dying below the power of
Zlatovlaska and Palunko. The ravens pecked their eyes off and the castle
was being fallen into ruines. The ravens brought Palunko and
Zlatovlaska to the Fisherman cottage, put them on Jiřík´s dapple-grey
horse, and sent them home. One year was over, and Gerceanu, the king
if the sea, and Shahzadah, the king of the air, remembered the meeting
on the crossroad. They realized that Jiřík´s knife was rusted-through.
They brought home their wife, the Princess of Mermaids and Princess of
Eagles, but with a feeling of blame that they have not found their sister. But Palunko and
Zlatovlaska got married: the curse was broken because of Jiřík’s sacrifice and Zlatovlaska’s faith
and Palunko´s courage. “My father, I have not found your daughter, but I have found a wife for
me,” Gerceanu said, bowing his head. “My father, I have not found Zlatovlaska, but I have found
a wife for me too,” Shahzadah said, also bowing his head.
“My father, Jiřík had to die to save me, and he found me the husband,” Zlatovlaska said,
kissing father´s hands and pouring them with tears.
“May his soul find his peace,” the old king cried. “Bless you all: you, Gerceanu, and your
wife, honourable princess of Mermaids, you, Shahzadah, and your wife, princess of the Eagles.
And bless you, Palunko, the new king after me and the husband of Zlatovlaska.”
The old king died in peace. Palunko with Zlatovlaska were clever, and good rulers and
they lived happily ever after.

ROMANIA: Life is a Journey
First meeting of students and teachers involved in project was held in
Turkish city Elâzığ since 15th
to 19th
November 2011. For all groups from
five countries (Turkey, Croatia, Romania, Greece and the Czech Republic)
it was great experience and opportunity to see each other first time “face
to face”.
Our group was consisted of two teachers (Bohuslav Rejzl, Andrea
Limberská) and three students (Rebeka Maxová, Ivana Jiráčková and
Nicol Jašková).
First meeting of students and teachers involved in project
Long way from Prague to our friends in Elâzığ…
Our all-day flight via Istanbul was little bit
exhausting, however all of us were looking
forward to seeing our new friends so much, so
we enjoyed this journey.

– 19th
November 2011
Elâzığ
After our arrival to Elâzığ, students were accommodated by host families of students from local
school. An official programme started on Monday morning.
Once Neslihan Köroglu, English teacher in local school, said…’’ Ahmet Kabakli Anadolu Ogretmen
Lisesi is an institution whose aim is to train possible teachers of the future.” And we all can agree.
During our visit this school, we found out the staff consists of young and very enthusiastic
teachers with experiences in international projects. The school is very well equipped –new
laboratories, big sports hall, own accommodation facilities etc.
Kde domov
můj?
When we finished our seeing of classrooms and the other rooms and school facilities,
students prepared their PPT presentations focused on the characterization of native lands,
towns or cities. By this occasion, Rebeka Maxová, one of participating Czech students, was
singing Czech National Anthem .
Next day we spent by
traveling and sightseeing. In
the morning, we came to
Sivrice – mountain centre
situated on the northwest
bank of sea Hazar Gölü.
There we visited a protected
workshop very interesting
and peaceful place with fine
painting corner. Someone of
us tried various painting
techniques. 
After this pleasure experience,
we moved to Harput, which is
the oldest historical part of
Elazig. This visit included
sightseeing of the old mosque
and the traditional household of
one of local building.
This day was really rich on nice
cultural experiences and
impressions.
On Friday, our friends from Turkish
school arranged very long, but nice trip
as well to Keban. Keban is a town
situated near the reservoir and the dam
of local large lake. We could only admire
this beautiful part of world for its
incredible high mountains, large valleys
and huge lake.
Programme of meeting in Elâzığ was finished by farewell party of teachers in Ottoman
restaurant. Students had to say goodbye to their friends and leave very hospitable Turkish
families. All Saturday we spent in Elazig city seeing, gifts buying, making photos etc.
When we were traveling back to Prague, we had a couple of hours for sightseeing in Istanbul.
Gorgeous place, beautiful Turkish pearl full of interesting historical places!
Second project meeting
was held in Prague since
6th
to 10th
February 2011.
As you know from
previous pages, the
students participating in
project have already
created the translations
of national fairy tales and
new texts combining
elements, characters and
plots of chosen fairy
tales. These texts will be
used as the screenplays
of planned theatre plays.
The official opening of this weekly event was realized
at our school which became a Babylonian tower for a
while; in every corner, there was possible to hear
English, Turkish, Greek, Romanian, Croatian and Czech
language. 
After introduction of all participants in musical hall of
school, Czech students prepared the educational
presentation focused on the topic of general
description of the Czech fairy tales.

Prague
The rest of this week was filled by the sightseeing, trips and one more meeting of
coordinators for agreement and planning next activities in the project schedule.
However, all current outdoor activities were limited by weather conditions; one of the
coldest weeks of year found us, so try to imagine walking and city seeing when the
temperature is – 20°C…
Here is a couple of pictures of our common trip to Kutná Hora. By this occasion,
we visited Church of St. Barbara, Museum of Czech Silver, Gallery in Jesuit
College, Vlach Court and Kostnice.
A meeting of coordinators in one of classrooms
Next day, after sightseeing in Prague, some volunteers of the project groups visited
Art Studio Malování a kreslení o. s. to create a collection of common pictures. The
main reason of this activity was make students to try several drawing techniques
usefull by the creation of the masques and stage properities for the coming theatre
performance.
The farewell party with the handing of certificates of attendance was planned on the last
common evening of the meeting in Prague.
April 2012
Vonitsa
Vonitsa is picturesque little town
situated 20 km northeast from well-
known resort Lefkada. Third project
meeting was held here, in local school
Geniko Lykeio Vonitsas. Our school
was represented by the group of five
students (Sofie Krusová, Nikola Šedivá,
Barbora Koubová, Michael Hůlka and
Jiří Švic) and two teachers (Bohuslav
Rejzl and Vendula Zajíčková.
An official programme started on 24th
April, but due to transport conditions
we arranged our flight “Praha –
Athens” on 22th April. So we could
spend one day in Athens by
sightseeing.
The way from Athens to Vonitsa
Prague - Athens
The official meeting was started by students’ presentations referring about the
cities and countries of origin. Short breaks between the outputs were filled by
the numbers of traditional dances a songs arranged by Greek students. What a
pleasure gig.
One of disseminations of the meeting
in Greece was written in English by
one of participating students – Jiří Švic
(the article published in a students’
magazine Kečap)
How did we spend following
days? Due to a lot of
interesting places in the
surroundings, we made trips
to places of interest, which
were taken within the topic
of our project. First we
visited a memorial of Lord
Byron in Messolongi, so-
called Hiera Polis, which is
known from the beginning of
19th
century thanks to Greek
independence war. Beside
this, we saw very impressive
amphitheatre in Iniades and
the ruins of amazing agora
with gate in Palairos.

As we created a new text and drama of the new folk tales
Before we started working on the new task
with a new topic, we should learn a meaning
of the category of FOLK TALE. The result of
our research is presented in our ppt

During the process of our decision, there was necessary to take in consideration the
factors like cultural context, characters and possibility of the dramatization. From the
huge range of the Bohemian folk tales, we chose well-known folk tale called Dívčí válka
(Maidens’ War).

The task is already known – to create a mosaic as result of the five folk tales from five countries. 
Although the folk tales
are in the narrative
structure different in the
comparison with fairy
tales, the method of our
work was kept in the
similar way like in the
case of the fairy tales.
The texts were divided
into larger parts for the
groups of students to
read and translate.
When they were
finished, the texts were
exchanged to study the
rest of materials in
native language.
Besides, all groups
should suggest the own
version of new mosaic
text using the elements
from the evaluation
form. As a great
advantage we find the
opening of the seminar
focused to Comenius
activities. Our work
became more effective.
And here is a medley of photos of

CHARACTERS
Athena: Greek virgin goddess of wisdom and justful war
Artemis: Greek virgin goddess of hunting
Ctirad: young Bohemian hero fighting against disloyal women
Delu: Turkish hero who is not afraid of Azrael
Dracula: prudent Romanian duke
Jože: Croatian giant with the bad experience with people
Vlasta: proud Bohemian maiden, fighting against men
Poseidon: Greek god of sea

SYNOPSIS
Dracula, who was cruelly ruling his country, wanted to marry the Goddess
Athena, so he came to Greece. Athena neither wanted nor could merry Dracula.
The Goddess Artemis was on Athena’s side and she besided to her huntress. She
asked Vlasta and her girls for help. Dracula asked Delu Dumrul for help, who
was even really far away known for his strength, and Ctirad, Vlasta’s enemy.
They also asked the Great Jože for help, but he refused and went to cultivate his
field on the Doghead hill. During the war, Poseidon gave the army of men horses
for help. Athena thought that the whole conflict was pointless, so she ultimately
planted olive tree seed to the centre of the field to provoke a desire for peace of
the combatants.
SCENE ONE
THE TOP OF OLYMPUS MOUNTAIN
On the top of Olympus there stand gold thrones of the Greece Gods, all
being empty, except Athena’s throne. She sits on her throne, deep in her
thoughts. Suddenly Dracula comes to Olympus, with his gutsy and rapid steps as
a large as rolling water.
Valentýna Horáčková as Athena;
Ondřej Hrdlička as the Count Dracula
Michaela Fojtů as a storyteller
The Goddess, angry that Dracula disturbed
her meditation, rises from her throne.
Athena: How can a mortal like you
believe that he can only compete to marry a
goddess?
Dracula: I’m not a mere mortal; I am the
Count Dracula, wise and powerful monarch,
whose people are the most honest.
Athena (disdainfully): That is so, but only under threat of death.
Dracula: The main thing is that it works.
Athena: Even if you were the wisest of the
wisest, and the most powerful of the most
powerful, I would never married you. Not only
because your cruelty is disgusting me, but I also
have taken an oath that I will never marry any
god or man ever.
Dracula: I don’t care about your oath!
(raising his voice) I am the Count Dracula and
your oath means nothing to me. I am offering you
a marriage, so take it!
Suddenly a Goddess Artemis appears beside Athena.
Artemis: How dare you, you worm! Perhaps you didn’t hear. Athena sworn and
she will obey it! Do you want me to send my huntress on you? (threatening him)
Dracula: I fear nothing and no one! Your huntress will be a breeze for me!
Arteis: (nearly red by anger, screaming at Dracula) As you want, this means
war! My warriors will be not fighting with you alone. Get some fighters and after two
days we will meet at the foot of the Acropolis, where we will crush you.
Dracula: (proudly) Well than, we have a deal!
After he said it, he was quickly walking away. Athena and Artemis are just
staying there alone.
Athena: Did you lose your mind? You don’t have enough hunters to defeat him.
There is no way we can beat them. (Athena was really worried)
Magdaléna Horáčková as Artemis
Kristýna Dvořáčková as Coachman
Artemis: Dear Athena, you are really
wise, but I probably know something that you
don’t. Far away, in the Bohemian lands, there
is a maidens’ war happening right now; a war
between men and women. I think that the
women leader Vlasta could help us. We just
have to convince her.
Athena: But how can you convince her to
join this war, when she has a lot of her own
problems?
Artemis: (smiling and disappearing) Trust
me, let me do it on my own.
SCENE TWO
SOMEWHERE ON THE OLYMPUS
Dracula, indignant because of the rejection, he is leaving and wondering who
should ask him for help. He is coming down to the carriage, which is waiting for him.
Near the carriage, there is a coachman standing by his horses.
Coachman: Where is the bride, sir?
Dracula is still mad, looking at the driver
and sighing
Dracula: There will be no wedding, but a
war instead. It means I have to find some good
warriors.
Coachman: And what about your army sir? You
have hundreds of soldiers and brave warriors. Isn’t
that enough?
Dracula: No! I need something better if I want to fight back for my honour! I
need something special.
Coachman: And what about the brave and courageous hero Delu Dumrul? I
heard he is enormously strong, there is also a rumour about some great Jože. That is
something special. And also a man called Ctirad could help you, he is in war now, but
I am sure he will have enough of time for you.
Dracula was surprised how much the driver knew and he also liked the fighter
that he had been informed about.
Michaela Fojtů as Vlasta
Dracula: How do you know so much? Where did you learn this?
Coachman: You know, always when I’m waiting for you I am reading
newspapers and I always learn something interesting.
Dracula was surprised. He never heard of newspapers and what he just heard
fascinated him.
Dracula: So newspapers you say? And do you know where can I find those men?
Coachman: Oh! Sure thing! Get in the carriage and I will take you to Delu
Dumrul. (Dracula is hopping on carriage and coachman is urging the horses)
Coachman: You know he has this bridge… (drives voice was lost in the distance)
SCENE THREE
NEAR THE FORTRESS DĚVÍN (MAIDENSBERG)
Around the wooden fortress Devin is everything quiet, you can hear almost
nothing but the soft rustle of the wind and the occasional groan of a slowly dying
men. Vlasta, standing with one foot on body of the dead man, is cleaning her sword
from blood and watching how men are escaping on the horizon. Or at least what's left
of them.
Vlasta: Yeah! Another battle won!
Perhaps they will know that they have no
chance against us, and they will finally
give up. I’m tired of fighting all the time
with those same cowards.
Suddenly goddess Artemis appears
beside Vlasta.
Artemis: That’s good to hear, brave
Vlasta.
Vlasta: (surprised, staring on the goddess) Who are you? Živa? Lada? Baba
jaga? Goddess? Fairy? Ghost? And what is good to hear?
Artemis: I’m the virgin goddess Artemis and I want to offer you and your girls a
chance to co-work with my hunter in the fight against one unbearable man. You help
us, and then we will help you with your final battle against men.
Vlasta thought for a moment, looked around the dead bodies and hid her, now
glittering sword back into its sheath.
Yuriy Marina as Delu Dumrul
Magdaléna Hartová as second storyteller
Vlasta: It is true that we have this struggle almost in our pockets, and a little
cheer up somewhere else would help us. I just wanted to know who is the awful man,
and then we will know what we can expect from him.
Artemis: To be honest, I do not know myself. It's a Count Dracula. He thinks
about himself that he is terribly clever and powerful, maybe he is, but I want to show
him that he cannot have everything he wants. I want to cash his army and I need
your help, if you join us.
Vlasta: I crash men to dust. I’d love to help you. Where and when will the fight
be? We can go anytime.
Artemis: Leave traveling on me, nothing is impossible for the goddess of
hunting! (clapping her hands, and with Vlasta and all her girls is disappearing)
SCENE FOUR
THE DELU DUMRUL’S BRIDGE
Above the dry riverbed stands a stone
bridge. At its centre sits a man on a stool,
counting gold in the bag. Suddenly some
decorated carriage is arriving to the bridge.
Count Dracula is hopping of the carriage
and going to the man.
Dracula: (imperiously) Are you Delu
Dumrul?
Delu: Yes I am, and you should give me 33
akchas.
Dracula: (surprised) What?
Delu: You are crossing my bridge, so you
have to give me 33 akchas. Otherwise I will beat
you and I will take 40 akchas.
Dracula: (loughing) I like your attitude. But I'm not going to go across your
bridge. I am coming to ask you, if you join my army in a battle.
Delu: (surprised) Really?
Lukáš Korol as Veli Jože
Dracula: Yes, I have heard that you are a great and strong hero. I think that we
have to fight together.
Delu: I want to go with you, but if I do not guard the bridge, who will be
collecting 33 akchas from everyone who wants to cross the bridge?
Dracula: Oh, do not worry, come with us, after we win, I will give you 3333
akchas!
Delu: 3333! Well, good deal, ok than. I'm with you.
Dracula and Delu Dumrul are shaking their right hands, and together they are
hopping on the carriage.
Dracula: Hey, coachman! Take us to that giant.
(Dracula is doing the order and carriage is slowly moving off)
SCENE FIVE
DOGHEAD HILL
Carriage is driving slowly up the Doghead hill, but the hill doesn´t look like a
dog's head, it looks like a normal hill. Dracula and Delu Dumrul are slowly
leavingthe carriage and walking up the hill. On the hill they are seeing a giant,
working on his field. Dracula is coming to him and shaking with him, so the giant
can hear him.
Dracula: Hey, Giant! Hey, could you
stop working for a while; I would like to
talk with you.
Giant Jože: What do you want me to
do and why are you yelling, I'm not deaf
man!
Dracula: Giant, I would like you to
join me in a fight.
Giant Jože: Why would I fight with you? I do not need to fight against anyone. I
can make it on my own with my field.
Dracula: I'll pay you a lot of gold, Giant.
Giant Jože: I do not want your gold, it’s useless for me, and my name is not
Giant, but Jože, my name is Jože!
Dracula: What about your friends? Those wouldn’t go to war with us?
Jože: No! Fight your own war, little sir, we'll stay here at the Doghead. We are
fed up with human deals. Working for people, fighting for people, dying for people –
do not bother us anymore!
Dracula: Little sir? Small sir? I am Count Dracula, not a small man! As you
want, I just wanted to help you. Do as you think. (Indignantly left) Such a rude man,
if he was in my country he would no longer have his head on his neck.
Dracula rejected by Jože told the coachman to take him to Ctirad. His carriage
is driving towards the Bohemian lands.
SCENE SIX
AROUND THE DĚVÍN FORTRESS
Around the fortress Devin is complete silence. Everywhere are lying bodies of
killed men but they do not groan anymore. Ctirad and his men are looking over the
battlefield in astonishment and wondering what has happened to their rivals.
Suddenly a carriage is coming. Dracula and Delu are hopping of the carriage, coming
to Ctirad, who is staying between them and his men.
Dracula: Are you Ctirad? (looking around)
I have thought that you are fighting in the war.
Ctirad: Me too. But It seems like our
rivals have disappeared.
Dracula: Well, that's wonderful! (rejoicing
and clapping hands happily) So that means
that you can go with us; you will be able follow
us into a battle. Come on! Get on board.
Ctirad: To what? Fight? And why we
should help you? Moreover, I have no idea who
you are.
Dracula: I am Romanian Count Dracula and you will come with me, because I
have said so. So let’s go, time is running out. We have to go to Greece.
Ctirad: Romania? Greece? Where is it? And I still do not think that anything
you have said is a good reason for us to go with you.
Dracula had to think for a moment: he needs Ctirad to join him. Finally, he
decided that he will simply give him money.
Dracula: How about this, if you take your men and join us, I will give you as
much gold, as you weigh with all your armour.
Jiří Švic as Ctirad
Andrea Limberská as 3
rd
storyteller
Ctirad: Well that sounds good, and moreover we have nothing to do since the
maidens and women have gone. (shouting) All right then, let's go to Greece!
Ctirad is hopping on the carriage with Dracula and Delu Dumrul and his men
are running behind them.
SCENE SEVEN
THE FOOT OF THE ACROPOLIS
The time to fight has come. Artemis huntress
with Vlasta and her maidens are staying in full
armour on one side, on the other side is slowly
arriving Dracula's carriage, pulled by donkeys, and
running Ctirad’s men behind it, along with Dracula’s
army.
Athena is watching it all with disgust. Dracula,
Delu Dumrul, and Ctirad are hopping of the carriage
and seizing their weapons. Suddenly Poseidon
appears among the men. He is coming because he
was mad at Athena, because Zeus decided that
Erectheo’s village will be named after her. He is coming to Dracula with the intention
to give him a gift.
Poseidon: Count Dracula, here I am offering you a gift: a horse. So you never
have to ride on a donkey. Perhaps he will serve well in combat. (is giving the Count a
bridle which has beautiful white horse at its end.)
Poseidon is disappearing.
Dracula is getting on a horse and wants to go into battle. On the other side,
while the girls are honing swords and knives, Vlasta is acquainting with the tactics
of the fight.
Athena cannot look how they all are going to this absurd war, and so she is
deciding to stop it. She is coming to the battlefield. When she reaches the middle, she
is trusting a hole in the ground and throwing small seed in it and enveloping it with
soil. Then she is moving away.
Suddenly from out of the ground is growing a little sprout, changing into a
beautiful tall tree with a strong trunk.
Athena: Look! (Nobly crying) this is Olive. I have planted it here to remind you
peace; and that this conflict is totally unnecessary. Look at this tree, and fold your
weapons before someone gets hurt!
Everyone is staring at the tree, its thick trunk and on the leaves, which
beautifully reflect sunlight. Suddenly everybody feels like they do not want to fight
anymore, they want peace. And so they put down their weapons.
Count Dracula is drinking with bliss, sending his soldiers home, giving Ctirad
as much gold as he can carry.
Ctirad with his men are going back to Bohemia in front of fortress Děvín.
Dracula is giving Delu Dumrul promised 3333 akchas and even is adding extra
one. Artemis is going to say farewell to Vlasta.
Artemis: Vlasta, I thank you that you have joined us. As thanks to you, I'll send
one of my huntress, whose name is Šárka, perhaps she will be useful in your war.
Vlasta then with her girls and Šárka is returning back home.
Athena: (powerfully) Goodbye, Dracula!
Dracula: I promise you that I will never return to Greece. Look, I have a
wonderful idea: to look more after my own country, to give everyone order and law.
Thank you for meeting with your prudence.
When all go away, Athena returns to Olympus, sits down on her throne,
continuing with the meditations.

Bacău
After Elazig, Prague and Vonitsa,
all of us could looking forward to
the fourth meeting of schools,
which was held in Romania, by
our friends from Bacău. This
meeting was arranged only for
teachers, because most of
students of local Sports High
School are accommodated in the
dorms and there is no possibility
to host other students. So our
school sent the group of three
teachers and our headmaster –
Alena Ondráková, Bohuslav Rejzl,
Alena Janátová and Jiřina
Šámalová.
In fact, our group started the Romanian mission
already on Saturday 13th
October, when we
arrived to Bucharest Airplane. Due to common
meeting on Monday, we had a time for the tour
in Bucharest. So we found out the city is very
impressive, especially the historical centre.
On Monday, all coming groups (Czech, Croatian
and Greek) were picked up by the Romanian
school bus to take us to Moiecieu, situated in
the beautiful valley, not far from well-known
Bran and Brasov.
We spent two days in this peaceful
edge of the world. During this time,
we had a chance to visit a lot of
interesting places, including the
mysterious castle Bran, which is
known in relation of the story of count
Dracula (Vlad II) or Brasov – cultural
centre of this area.

Our common group of
teachers left Moecieu
on Wednesday, when
we made for the
route to Bacău. As
you can see in the
map, this way was
quite long, but
despite of there was a
very pleasure stop in
Sinaj, where we
visited a castle Peles.
Peles in Sinai
A day after our arrival to Bacau,
where we met very friendly and
warm welcome, we visited our
partner school Liceul cu Program
Sportiv. It is a classical Sports high
school with a great potential of
training and practicing sports like
football, volleyball, handball,
boxing, wrestling, swimming,
diving and judo.
Our common meeting in
Bacau included the tour of city,
visit of a swimming pool, a
conference of coordinators,
creative workshops focused on
folk tales of the participating
countries.
In the end of this very
interesting week, all of
participants received the
certificates of attendance
and we had to say good bye
each other.
15th
– 19th
April 2013
Daruvar
Last meeting, last theatre
performance, one of last events of
our common project… These words
could describe our project meeting
in Croatian Daruvar, which was
held since 15th
to 19th
April 2013.
Our school was represented by
four students (Michaela Fojtů,
Magdaléna Hartová, Lukáš Korol
and Yuriy Marina) and two teachers
(Bohuslav Rejzl and Vendula
Rejzlová).
As for the travelling from Prague to Zagreb, we decided to travel by train. After this
little bit dangerous way due to problems with connections, we arrived to Zagreb
and then to Pulla to follow the rest of our friends from Greece, Romania and
Croatia. Unfortunately, owing the problems with connections, we have missed the
trip on the isle Krk.
The first part of our
common meeting was
based on the round travel
with visit of towns Pulla,
Rovinj and Motovun,
where we could find the
relations to the topic of
our project.
Colloseum in Pula
Seaside in Rovinj
After the trip round Istria, we moved to Daruvar, where is located our partner school –
Ekonomska I turistička škola, where we met very friendly and warm welcome as well as at all
partner schools of this project. The students were accommodated in the host families, the
teachers in one small local hotel.
Next day, all students started rehearsing of the theatre play called “Our future” to
take part on the next day, it means 18th
April 2013. After this, all participants took
part in Daruvar tour, where Croatian students presented the surroundings and
offered information about Daruvar.
After this exploration of Daruvar, we got back to school. A new rehearsal followed.
Daruvar tour, Croatian students as guides
A rehearsal of new theatre play
And here is a place for a few words about this town. Daruvar is a small town situated in the central
part of Croatia. It’s well-known as a recreational centre with the spas. For Czech travelers there is
one interesting fact of the inhabitants, especially of the big Czech minority living here (more than
20% of the population).
As was it already written, the final outcome of our common
project was a collaborative public show, which was performed
at Croatian school in Daruvar. Before the theatre play, we could
see students dancing and singing their traditional songs to
present their countries. New created theatre play “Our future”,
which was written by the students from Croatia, was performed
by the students from all partner schools. INTERNETOV8
ADRESAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
On the fourth day of the
meeting the students
rehearsed again before
the public performance.
The final event of this
meeting and the project at
all was very soon. Besides,
the Croatian school
prepared the workshop
activities focused on the
work in mixed groups of all
five countries.
FIRST PART OF THE PERFORMANCE
Traditional songs and dances of students from all the project schools
Libuše, a character that leads us through
the plot and announces every scene and
what happens in that scene walks onto the
stage. She introduces herself to the
audience and walks to the desk where she
finds a laptop and a glass of juice.
LIBUŠE: Hi people! I'm Libuše. People often
ask me: ''Are you Krok's little girl?'' And I
answer: ''Yes, he's my old man.'' And I've got
this amazing ability (points at laptop): I can
see far in the past, and even further in the
future. And when I see where this world is
going, I feel like giving up on this power.
Considering the things that are happenning
nowadays, this future is approaching us fast.
Have you heard what happened in the Czech
Republic? Here come boys and girls to tell
you about it themselves.
1st SCENE (the Czech Republic) (3 boys and 3
girls walk onto the stage)
BOY No1: What's up babe? What's that
duckface image on your profile picture?
ŠARKA: My profile picture is better than your
girlfriend's. Oh, wait, you don't have a
girlfriend. (giggling)
VLASTA: Anyway, who would want him
lookin' like that? (laughs mockingly)
BOY No2: What are you talkin' about? He
can have any girl he wants. And how many
guys have you had? (asks while looking at
Šarka)
ŠARKA: That's none of your business.
BOY No3: So, none.
(boys are laughing, Šarka is embarrassed
and bows her head)
GIRL No3: Why are you listening to him at
all? We all know he's just a…
VLASTA: (interrupts the girl) …fool. (knocks
the BOY No1 on the head)
ŠARKA: But I like that fool. (flicks her fingers)
BOY No1: Sorry babe, I was just kidding.
You're okay. (touches her shoulder and
winks)
ŠARKA: Hahaha, I can't believe you fell for
that. (claps several times)
(boys and girls are leaving, but only BOY No1
and ŠARKA stay)
BOY No1: So, maybe we could grab a coffee
once?
ŠARKA: Are you asking me out?
BOY No1: Not like a date, just hanging out,
you know.
ŠARKA: Oh, too bad, I thought you like me.
(bows her head)
BOY No1: (speaks like he wants to apologize)
It's not that I don't like you, it's just…
ŠARKA: (interrupts him) Oh please, you're
acting like a girl, I'm just kidding you. Let's
grab a coffee, I'm buyin'. (leaving the stage)
LIBUŠE: (sitting on a chair with a laptop in
her lap) I'm just reading news from Croatia.
The Croatians are celebrating the
Independence day, the day they became a
free, independent nation. Can you imagine
how valuable it is to a person?!
2nd SCENE (Croatia)
(2 veterans meet on the stage, Ilija and Jože.
Ilija is dragging his leg because he got shot in
the leg during war. The scene takes place on
a square in one Croatian city. Not far from
them is a cafe called BALTAZAR)
JOŽE: Ilija, is that you?
ILIJA: Am I seeing who I think am seeing? Are
my eyes deceiving me?
JOŽE: Ilija, my good old friend. I haven't seen
you in years! (they hug)
ILIJA: Where are you going wearing those
army clothes?
JOŽE: I was at church, there was a mass to
celebrate the Independence Day. Where
have you been?
ILIJA: At the Independence Day ceremony.
Do you have some time? Let's go to that cafe
and have something to drink.
JOŽE: I'm not really in for coffee, I'll have
some good wine.
ILIJA: Oh Jože! You haven't changed a bit.
You can’t go without some wine.
(they enter BALTAZAR cafe, sit at the table,
order drinks and coffee and get served)
ILIJA: How's life been treating you? How are
your wife and children?
JOŽE: I'm getting old, my friend…My wife is
fine and the kids are growing up…asking for
more and more. I can't pay for everything
they need with one pension.
ILIJA: We shouldn't be unsatisfied despite
the crisis. My pension feeds me and my wife.
JOŽE: It might be better if I had no problem
with this leg.
ILIJA: You should be glad that you're alive.
Do you remember what it was like when you
got wounded in the war? How I dragged you
to the car…and then through the woods…to
the hospital… You were lucky.
JOŽE: Yes, yes… I remember everything like
it was yesterday. We were ready to give our
lives for freedom.
ILIJA: Well, it's all behind us now. It's nice to
be alive and free. It's good that I ran into
you. Are you farming that land and those
vineyards of yours?
JOŽE: No, my friend. Everything is covered in
weeds. The two of us could redo it and then
we would have wine to drink and to sell.
That's a great idea.
(Ilija's phone rings, he answers it)
ILIJA: Hello! Oh, it’s you? …I'm not at the
doctor's, but at BALTAZAR’s. Guess who I ran
into, you won’t believe this – Jože… Yeah,
yeah… Okay, okay… (speaks to Jože)
Listen, my wife invited you over to have
lunch with us. She has just finished cooking.
(Jože hesitates, but accepts)
Then, let's go. We can discuss the vineyards
in peace, then ask for subvention and roll up
our sleeves…
(they pay for their drinks and leave the stage
talking)
LIBUŠE: (browsing the net) And now let me
see the latest news. What a scandal in
Turkey! (reads) Imagine! One twenty-year-
old man named Delu Dumrul was earning
money by charging the visitors admission to
enter the old town. But "What goes around,
comes around" is not said in vain - the
newspaper said. After discovering the fraud,
an unidentified group of young men beat
him up.
3rd SCENE (TURKEY)
on stage: Delu Dumrul, Azrail, the Dumrul’s
father, mother and a girlfriend
(the walls of the old town can be seen in the
background)
DELU DUMRUL: (looks at the bruise on his
eye in the mirror) Oh mirror, mirror, my eye
is blue-purplish color.
AZRAIL: Well, my friend, I told you not to do
that. You are paid too well for greeting two
or three tourists who come to see the
remains of the old city.
DELU DUMRUL: When they come on a tour
of the old town, then there are two or three
of them. Yesterday when they came to beat
me up, there were six of them.
AZRAIL: You were lucky. But how will you go
to work with that black eye?
DELOS DUMRUL: Don't ask. Don't know.
(Delu Dumrul walks to his father)
DELU DUMRUL: Hey paps, I need a favor.
FATHER: I don't have any money.
DELU DUMRUL: It's not about that.
Tomorrow someone needs to give a tour of
the old town, and I, with this bruise, am not
the prettiest sight.
FATHER: And you think that I can do your
work and mine?
DELU DUMRUL: Don't blame me for asking.
FATHER: I am not, but ask someone else.
(Delu Dumrul goes to his mother)
MOTHER: (gets scared by Delu Dumrul) Dear
Allah, you scare me every time I see you.
(takes a closer look at the bruise)
DELU DUMRUL: Yap, yap, my eye will change
all the rainbow colours till it's gone. I wanted
to ask you something.
MOTHER: I don't have any money.
DELU DUMRUL: It's not about that.
Tomorrow someone has to welcome the
tourists and give them a tour of the old
town, and I can't go with this bruise, I'll scare
them off.
MOTHER: You realize that I have to go to
work tomorrow? DELU DUMRUL:
Interesting. Whenever I want some privacy,
you're home, and when I need a favor,
you're not.
MOTHER: You have a girlfriend, right?
(Delu Dumrul goes to his girlfriend)
DELU DUMRUL: Babe, you're my last hope. If
tomorrow someone doesn't replace me, I'll
lose my job.
GIRLFRIEND: Oh my love, you should've
thought about that sooner.
DELU DUMRUL: So, you won't help me.
GIRLFRIEND: Oh okay, I will. But if I get
beaten too, it'll be your fault.
DELU DUMRUL: Yeeeey! I have the best girl
ever!
(they hug)
GIRLFRIEND: (towards the audience) And
what should I do with him?
(leaves the stage)
DELU DUMRUL: (towards the audience)
However, when this bruise is gone, I should
find a real job.
(leaves the stage)
LIBUŠE: (drinks some juice and browses the
net again) What do we have here? In Bacau
in Romania, the traditional festival is to
begin to celebrate the Day of the city.
Although it has been famous for a long
while, this year will be specially marked with
a wide selection of drinks and food. Mayor
Dracula will open the celebration. So let's
see what it's going to be like.
4th SCENE (Romania)
(takes place on the main square, on the
stage there are: Dracula, a girl, a young man,
2 thieves, 2 police officers and a few
citizens)
(on the opening Dracula first gives a toast)
DRACULA: Listen, folks! I have arranged free
food and drinks for this festival again this
year because our city is rich and you deserve
it. Let's all make a toast to this important
day! Cheers! (everyone raises their glasses
and the party continues)
(There comes a young man with a bicycle
and parks it on the side. He approaches one
girl and they visit the stalls. After that, they
come forward on the stage, closer to the
audience)
YOUNG MAN: Have you ever been on those
wine, cheese and dried food products
tastings? I end up with my stomack full every
year.
GIRL: You mean you walk from a stall to stall
and eat everything that they offer? (laughs)
YOUNG MAN: Let me take a picture of you!
(tries to take a photo of her)
GIRL: No, my hair's a mess! (While they're
talking, a thief comes along and steals the
bike. Two citizens notice that and point at
the thief, whispering something. The young
man also notices that his bike is gone.)
YOUNG MAN: Where's my bicycle? Who
took it?
GIRL: Let's report this to Dracula.
(they complain about the theft to Dracula)
DRACULA: Citizens, listen to me! There's
been a theft, someone stole this young
man's bicycle! Whoever saw anything, may
come here and report it!
(two citizens approach Dracula and tell what
they had seen)
DRACULA: (addresses the officers) Now
bring me that geek who dares to steal before
my very eyes.
(police officers leave and soon come back
with two thieves)
THIEF: I didn't want to steal it. He put me up
to it. He had promised to give me a cell-
phone if I stole that bike and took it to him.
DRACULA: ''The thief is also the one holding
the ladder.'' – the proverb says. Take them
both to jail!
(police officers take them to jail and others
are leaving)
LIBUŠE: (sitting and browsing the net) I’ve
got a mail, I’ve got a message from a friend.
So let's see what it says. "This is a story
about the wisdom of the Greek gods, the skill
and confidence needed to achieve each goal.
Send this email to 20 friends, but do not
interrupt the chain. Send me back If you like
me. "
5th SCENE (Greece)
(coming to the stage: Zeus carries his throne
– the chair and sets it in the middle, Mars,
Aphrodite, Athena, Poseidon and some
other gods...)
ZEUS: People, at the today's session of
Parliament we will finally name that village.
MARS: Well, it's about time.
APHRODITE: And how will we choose the
name?
GODS: (talking to each other) We have no
idea!
ZEUS: Well, here's the idea. Two Gods will
draw on their desks. The one who makes a
better drawing will name the village.
GODS: Good idea. Who's going to draw?
ZEUS: Let it be Athena and Poseidon. They
draw the best, it'll be interesting to watch
them.
(Gods prepar chart paper on two desks. As
they draw, other gods walk and observe.
Poseidon shows a drawing of a horse.)
GODS: (shouting) Squirrel! Dragon! Polar
bear!
POSEIDON: (rolls his eyes offended)
(then Athens shows her drawing)
GODS: Plum! Nut! Cherry!
proverb GODS: Olive Oil!
ATHENS: (nods and circles the tree)
GODS: Olive tree!
ATHENS: (smiles and puts both hands in the
air) Victoooory!
ZEUS: Well done kid, you chose well. Olive
tree will be a symbol of wisdom and victory
of life. Therefore, the village will be named
after you. We will call it Athens!
(the villagers enter the stage celebrating and
singing a song about life and love)
6th
LIBUŠE: All these stories carry their
messages. We no longer have to bother with
the past events. The future has already
begun, and as for the past ... we're not
heading in that direction anyway.
(all actors come to the stage to greet the
audience)

  • 3. INTRODUCTION As it began... Our common work started more then two years ago when we found each other on the portal eTwinning. However, if you want to find the origin of this project, you should go far in the past. The idea of the project was by Neslihan KÖROĞLU from Turkish Elâzığ and Ana-Maria ROTARU from Romanian Bacau, who attended to an in-service-training in Madrid that focused on teaching and learning strategies using games and drama. When the idea was stemmed from this experience, Neslihan contacted teachers from Croatia, the Czech Republic, Greece and Italy, so the collaborative group was collected. Our common aim was to start the project based on creative writing and drama. Before we started to fill a form for our National Agency, we had tried to persuade our surroundings (teachers, headmasters, students, parents) about the meaning and sense of an international project like this. Our school, Gymnázium bratří Čapků a První české soukromé střední odborné učiliště s.r.o., as a relatively young educational institution without experiences with the international projects had the main priority and interest in the partnership with other European schools. As teachers, we believe it’s necessary to develop our students’ creative abilities and intercultural dialogue. Besides, the project based on the activities creative writing and drama has a potential to improve the student’s communication skills. Our form was approved and all schools from the group were involved in the multilateral Comenius project called LET’S MEET UNDER THE SPOTS. Finally, this short booklet is the last product and result of previous years of the project collaboration in the view of students and teachers of our school. This booklet can be seen not only as the leaflet of the educational activities, but as well as a storyteller of the great story of the friendship. In each country of the project schools, we met friendy and warm welcome. Thank you to all of them, we will never forget the experiences with you. We would like to thank to our National Agency which allowed to our school to participate on the project. Bohuslav Rejzl Coordinator from the Czech Republic

  • 6. ΓΕΝΙΚΟ ΛΥΚΕΙΟ ΒΟΝΙΤΣΑΣ / Geniko Lyceio Vonitsas The Liceum of Vonitsa is settled in a small town of Western Greece. Our town is agricultural and far from big cities, so our children are socially excluded from culture events and they have no opportunity to contact with other peers in a creative basis and under a program in a European level. Our school has joint environmental programs and has experience in programs, but never in a European basis. The Comenius program will give them the opportunity and the motive to practice their English, to learn a lot about other countries and their culture. Moreover, they will make friends to other countries and that will gives them the chance to visit or study to one of them, not to mention the sense of European citizenship that is not so vivid in remote and agricultural areas. Liceul cu Program Sportiv Bulevardul Alexandru cel Bun, numărul 43 Sports High School is situated in the Northern-Eastern part of Romania, region of Moldavia, in Bacau city and it comprises a number of about 500 students. Project activities were focused on fairy tales (first year) and folk tales (second year) as they provide a common ground with their similarities and differences in terms of their plots, themes, characters and images. Students should read the fairy tales and folk stories of each partner country and made new text combining elements, characters and plots of the chosen fairy tales. The next step was acting this newly- created text out as a short play. All performances were recorded and uploaded to the website. Finally, after long discussions and votes, we decided to choose well-known fairy tale Zlatovláska (Goldilocks). The original Czech text was translated by the group of students who could very soon recieve translated texts of fairy tales from the other partner schools. This exchange was arranged at the end of October 2011. And here are the titles of the fairy tales chosen by our partners: ROMANIA Greuceanu TURKEY Stone of Patience GREECE The Hare and the Turtle CROATIA Fisherman Palunko ITALY Little John
  • 12. Preface We use the comparative analysis according to specific features of the literary genre of European folk fairy tale. We are inspired with the methodology of Vladimir Propp (The morphology of fairy tales) and literary genology. It is typical for Czech scientists and students to work with Structuralism. The main points of our analysis are: main characters and relations among them; magical creatures and their function; magical artefacts; imagines of setting (country, interiors); imagines of Good and Evil; composition of the narrative; main motives and symbols. 1 Structural analysis of fairy tales 1.1 Romanian fairy tale (The Red Emperor) The topics are heroic acts of brave Greucean and his victory over evil Ogres. The main characters are: the Red Emperor, Ogres, Faur, Greucean and his brother. Heroes are Faur, Greucean, who has one brother. Greucean is brave, smart, purposeful, but his (anonymous) brother is stupid, impulsive and lazy. Faur is wise, smart smith, and he can do miracles. The Orges are the evil beings, making chaos. The magical creatures are Faur and the Orges (they stole the sun and the moon) and Raven who brought Water to Greucean. The magical objects used in narration are: the iron statue in the forge, scarves with tears, and knife. The main settings are the Green forest, The tower, Pear tree, Magic garden, and Crossroads where heroes decide what to do. The collision is typical – the contrast between Good and Evil - between: Smith, Greucean and his brother, Raven – and bad Ogres. 1.2 Croatian fairy tale (The Fisherman and his Wife) The main characters is Palunko , a fisherman, who is not content with his monotonous life and wishes to be rich. His wife, who is never named in the story, is a poor, strong girl that eventually makes Palunko happy by showing him what’s truly important in life. Magical characters are King of the Seas who lives there with beautiful mermaids, and Zora, who is an underwater goddess, also mentioned as The Virgin of Dawn. Palunko’s wife speaks with animals, birds. The first magical object is a big mill-wheel that helps Palunko to get to the King of the Seas. Palunko’s wife plays pipes that have the ability to summon animals which help on her way to find Palunko and their son, and handkerchief that transforms into a sail that helps them get to the seaside. The story is mostly set at sea. The good is shown in the wife. Because of her general graciousness, she is helped by the magical creatures. The evil is represented by Palunko’s greed for material things that only leads him to sadness and loss. The narration skips entire months and years to show that nothing vital to the story has been happening, that things didn't change. 1.3 Turkish fairy tale (Stone and Patience) The aim of this story is that the good overcomes evil. The main heroes are Shahzadah (prince of the land), and beautiful girl and the ugly female slave. The magical bird which refers the magical creature and this one helps to beautiful girl to find her love. In the fairy tale there will come kind of exchange between beautiful girl and the female slave. In the story the magical artefact is the stone of patience which the fake female slave (beautiful girl) wanted from Shahzadah to bring from Jemen. The setting of fairy tale is rich in Orient. The good creature is beautiful girl and bad one is her female slave. 1.4 Greek (fable) The rabbit and the Turtle It is not a fairy tale, but fable – the genre with different origin, composition, and function. We have to use different methodology. We cannot compare it with other texts in our Comenius project. Characters in this fable are: the Rabbit, who is a bit cocky and pretentious, and the Turtle, who is a smart (wise) and self-confident. What can we learn from this fable? The moral advise that we shouldn’t judge others just for being what they are.
  • 13. 2 General analysis FAIRY TALE Good x Evil Heroes & Heroines Magical Creatures Magical artefacts Setting Function, topic ROMANIAN yes Smith Ogres, raven Iron statue knife Countryside, forest Victory of brave and good ones CROATIAN No in the image as in others Palunko (man) and his wife - HEROINE! King of the Seas, marmainds, Zora, animals Wheel, Hankerchief, sorrel Sea Saving of bad one by good one TURKISH Yes Prince, fairy girl and her slave - HEROINE! --- Stone of patience Orient-palace, journey Victory of good over evil GREEK --- Rabbit x Turtle --- --- --- Moral (victory of patient and humble over proud) CZECH yes Jiřík, bad king, Princess -HEROINE! Helping animals Living and dead water Castle journey (forest, lake), castle on the lake Victory of brave and good over evil 3 Conclusion Our humble analysis brings these results: The common features of the fairy tales are victory of good among evil. Except the Romanian one, there is the motif of LOVE between hero and heroine. It is typical that too good heroes love themselves and somebody evil tries to destroy their relation. In one case (Croatian story) the hero is bad, but he is saved with good characters of wife who loved him. The magical creatures (especially animals) and artefacts are used in all of them. The Czech and Turkish one is set to aristocratic setting; the Croatian (most original of our samples!) one to the element of the water (sea). The Croatian is similar to traditional Slavonic fairy tales from Bohemia, Slovakia, and Russia. All of heroes have to absolve some journey – Jiřík, Greucean, Shahzadah, and Palunko´s wife as the act of initiation. Jiřík (Czech hero) and Palunko´s Wife (Croatian hero) understand to animals because of the same reason: they help, they have good hearts, and so they are helped. The specific features are the motif of stolen Sun and Moon by Ogres (Romanian), the symbol of stone of patience (Turkish), the fate of Palunko´s wife who is anonymous (Croatian) and motif of living and dead water (Czech). We think that it is possible to use the function of Greek ancient fable I fairy tales because many of them try to give some moral message: it is better to be patient and humble (Shahzadah, Palunko´s Wife, Turtle) than proud. ROMANIA Greuceanu TURKEY Stone of Patience GREECE The Hare and the Turtle CROATIA Fisherman Palunko ITALY Little John The Czech Rep. Goldilocks New created fairy tale BREAKING OF DESTINY Italian partner school has left the Comenius Project.
  • 14. All students involved in the project started to read, translate and create new text very thoroughly. The texts of stories were divided into larger parts which were assigned to the groups of 2-3 students. Next step was a creation of evaluation form of elements of all six stories. This process of project work lasted four months
  • 15. Sophie Riddell as a storyteller A NEW FAIRY TALE CREATED AND PERFOMED BY CZECH STUDENTS: “BRAKING OF THE DESTINY” Once upon a time, in one kingdom, seven mountains, seven seas and seven rivers, there was a king who had four children: three sons and, the youngest one, a daughter. The oldest son was very brave knight and his name was Gerceanu. The middle son was Shahzadah and he was very clever. And the youngest´s name was Jiřík, and he was humble and he liked hard working. Their little sister was called Zlatovlaska, because her hair was shining like a sun and flame. She was a fairy lady: as gentle as the first spring blossom, as fragile as the snowdrop, as kind as the saint. Her eyes were blue as the evening sky with first star, and when she smiled, it was like morning dew was clinging on the leaves of roses. Everybody must love her: father, brothers, and all the kingdom. If here poor mother lived, she would love her too…But she died in the night when her lovely lady was born. In this night, three Fade Sisters visited her. The first said the prophecy: “You will be as beautiful as your mother, but you will suffer, because she is dying now because of your birth.” The second said: “You will be so kind and brave as your father, but you will suffer in solitude as he will from this night because his beloved wife is dying.” And the third one said: “When you are 17 years old, the prophecy will be fulfilled. But if you cross the widest sea, put the sun on sky and turn the dead man into live, you will break your destination. Here are three gifts: the stone, the hankerchief, and the knife. They will help you, if you use them well and for good things.” The children grew up and the old king got older and older. He started to think: who of his three sons will be the king after him? Gerceanu, Shahzadah, or Jiřík? All of them would be good rules… Tereza Kořínková, Sofie Krusová and Markéta Pondělíčková as three Fade sisters Lukáš Korol as the Old King
  • 16. David Taliján, Bohuslav Rejzl and Luke as the Ogres Petr Brůček as Prince Gerceaunu Finally, the 18th birthday of Zlatovlaska came. She really grew up into the most beautiful and fairest maid in thewhole world! Big party with ball was prepared, great tournament with riders and noblemen on horses, and great men from neighbourhood were invited. Who knows, Zlatovlaska is a girl for a wedding, maybe she will find her husband on the ball. The midnight came, and the clock bell began to chime. Suddenly, during the fireworks, in big thunderstorm the ogres appeared! “You have not invited us to the birthday ball,” one of them cried. “You have not thought we could be husbands for your daughter,” the other screamed. “So you will lose your daughter, and nobody can deliver her, hahahae!” the third shouted, grasped Zlatovlaska into his ugly huge paws and they vanished with her in the cloud of sulphur and stink. The heart of old king was broken. He fell on his knees and began to pray: “Oh help me, oh God, and give me an advice and the power hot to deliver my poor beloved child!” And he remembered the prophecy of Faid Sisters. “Sons! My sons! Where are you?” “Here we are, our father,” three sons said as one man. “What do you want us to do?” “Listen, sons: who delivers Zlatovlaska, he will be the king.” Of course every of the princes wanted to rule, who does not? “I will find my sister,” promised the brave Gerceanu. “I will find my dear sister,” claimed the clever Shahzahad. “I will find her and save her, my dear daddy,” humble Jiřík whispered with tears in his eyes. They packed their haversacks, saddle their horses and set out to find their sister. Meanwhile, Zlatovlaska was prisoned by ogres. Their giant mother wanted her to marry on of their sons, but she refused. She cut her golden hair as the sign of sorrow, the stars in her eyes died out, her smiled got frozen and she stopped talking with anybody. She was only sitting in black stone tower and watching into dark with her blind eyes… Three princes reach the crossroad. They threw their knives into the earth and promised to each other: “Let us meet one year later under this signpost. If somebody of us is not here and there is the rust on his knife, it will be the sigh of his death.” The kissed Barbora Koubová as Zlatovláska /Goldilocks
  • 17. Kristýna Dvořáčková as Turtle Quan Vu An as Prince Shahzadah, Luke as a Hare and blessed themselves and choose their way. Gerceanu, the brave one, rode his black horse on the right side. He travelled through deep valleys and high mountains, and everywhere he asked people, if they saw ogres or if they heard about Zlatovlaska. But nobody gave him an advice. Many days later, he met the Turtle by the seashore. “You are searching for something, I think, aren´t you?” The Turtle asked him slowly, with wisdom in her old eyes. “Yes, I am, Lady Turtle,” Gerceanu agreed with a flash of hope in his eyes. “I wish to find my sister Zlatovlaska, but evil Ogres have kidnapped her and I do not know where.” – “Well, prince, I can help you, if you help me,” the Turtle winked. “Oh really? How?” The Brave prince shouted. “Do you see the island on the skyline? There are my eggs, and evil mermaids wanted them to eat! If you swim over the sea to the island, manage to look after my eggs for three days until little turtles are born, I will tell you how to break the power of ogres.” Gerceanu smiled: “So easy task? Look after my horse, and I am back in three days!” And he sprang into the water and bravely swam to the island. It was easy for him because he was strong, well training. But mermaids came to the shore where he was looking after the eggs: “Come with us, handsome and brave hero, come with us! You will be the king of the whole sea!” And Gerceanu fall in love with the princess of the mermaids… Meanwile Zlatovlaska was feeling she is slowly dying… The middle way was chosen by Shahzadah, the clever prince. He also travelled through valleys, mountains, deserts and plains, but nobody told him anything about Ogres or Zlatovlaska. When he began to be despaired, he met the Hare by the snow plain. “What are you looking for here?”, asked him the Hare. “How do you know that I am looking for something, Mr Hare?” Shahzadah wondered. “I know many things which were, which are, and which could happen, dear clever prince,” the Hare winked, “if you help me, I will help you to find and save Zlatovlaska.” Shahzadah kissed him: “O dear Mr Hare, I am able to do everything to save my dear sister!” – “Do you see the end of the snow plain on the skyline? There are my little hares, and the eagle wants to eat them. If you manage to cross the field and give the evil the riddle Nikola Šedivá, Klára Lampová and Eva Fuxová as Princesses of Mermaids
  • 18. Kristýna Dvořáčková and Václav Holec as Ravens which he could not answer, I will help you to destroy ogres and take Zlatovlaska home.” Shahzadah did not hesitate, let his brown horse by the shire of the plain and carefully went through the field. He managed to find hare´s babies and outmanoeuvre the eagle, but when he wanted to go back, beautiful she-eagles flied to him, changed into fairy maids and promised him: “If you come with us, you will rule to the clouds!” And Shahzadah fall in love with the princess of the eagles… Meanwile Zlatovlaska was feeling she is slowly dying… Jiřík choose the left way on the crossroad. He thought about himself that he is not so brave and so clever like his brothers are, but he did not like anybody more than his sister, neither himself! He remembered the prophecy of Fate Sisters, and he was hoping that it is possible to break the course; in spite of he did not know how. He rode his dapple-grey horse, through the valleys, through the mountains, through the rivers and plains, through the deserts, forests and snow plains, and everywhere he could he helped the people, but nobody helped him how to find Zlatovlaska. After many days, he came to the meadow by the sea, where the old fisherman with his family lived. But he was not only the fisherman: he was the wise man and prophet. “What are you searching for, Jiřík?” He asked, throwing the fishing rod into the water. “You know my name?” Jiřík was upset. “I know many things,” the fisherman was smiling. “If you help me, I will help you, how to find and deliver your sister. Look: there is the black castle on the mountains behind the skyline. You cannot see it well because ogres have stolen the sky, they have thought it will make your sister alive.” – “She is dead?” Jiřík began to cry. “Not yet, but she is going to, the birds have told us,” the fisherman sighed. “Oh how can I save her? Please, I beg you, help me, Mr Fisherman!” – “There is only one way how to save her, and you cannot be alone. With my son Palunko you can manage it. Listen: cross the sea, and you will find ravens on the shore. They promised me the living water, but they do not want to bring me it. If you reach the water of life, I will borrow you my own and beloved son Palunko. He is the fisherman of people: he knows how to reach the truth, the justice, and the real freedom of the heart.” Jiřík kissed fisherman´s hands, let him his horse and swam over the sea to the shore when Michael Hůlka as a 2 nd storyteller Jiří Švic as Prince Jiřík Jakub Demartini as Old Fisherman
  • 19. Jindřich Hubka as Fisherman Palunko Jiřina Turjanská as Princes of Eagles the black castle was built by the Ogres. He was absolutely exhausted when he reached the other shore, but he thanked to God for the chance. Then Ravens flew to him. “We know why are you here,” they cawed, “Zlatovlaska is still alive, but she is dying soon! You can save her, but you will die…” –“It does not matter to me!” Jiřík jumped. “Only if she will live!” “Our children, little ravens, are dying because of hunger, give them your flash. We will bring the living water to old Fisherman, and he will send his son Palunko to save Zlatovlaska. Do not be afraid, your pain will help her. You are the living stone of patience of her gift, you are the handkerchief for her tears and blooding heart, and you are the knife who will kill the evil and who will be the instrument of patience, brave, wisdom and true love.” – “Please tell my sister how much I love her,” Jiřík whispered, and uncovered his chest. The little ravens flew to him and ate his heart. Full of power of life, the raven´s family brought the water of life to Fisherman´s family. Fisherman splattered with the water the grave of his wife, and she rose up as she was only sleeping. Palunko, the fisherman´s son, sat on raven´s back, and flew into the black castle, to the chamber of Zlatovlaska. “The kiss of your brother Jiřík who sacrificed himself to save you,” Polunko said kissing her. – “What has happened with me?” Zlatovlaska whispered and the stars returned back into her eyes. “You are so fairy and I love you,” Polunko told her gently. “We can defeat evil Ogres together. May the sacrifice of your brother is not vain.” Zlatovlaska threw out the veil of her cut golden hair, and it was like the morning has broken. “Let the see go back to the sky, to the glory of God!” she claimed and began to dance, full of joy, power, hope and love. She began to smile and the morning dew fall on the flowers like a blessing. And the sun really was put back on the sky! “Love! True love! Help!” The ogres screamed dying below the power of Zlatovlaska and Palunko. The ravens pecked their eyes off and the castle was being fallen into ruines. The ravens brought Palunko and Zlatovlaska to the Fisherman cottage, put them on Jiřík´s dapple-grey horse, and sent them home. One year was over, and Gerceanu, the king if the sea, and Shahzadah, the king of the air, remembered the meeting on the crossroad. They realized that Jiřík´s knife was rusted-through. They brought home their wife, the Princess of Mermaids and Princess of Eagles, but with a feeling of blame that they have not found their sister. But Palunko and Zlatovlaska got married: the curse was broken because of Jiřík’s sacrifice and Zlatovlaska’s faith
  • 20. and Palunko´s courage. “My father, I have not found your daughter, but I have found a wife for me,” Gerceanu said, bowing his head. “My father, I have not found Zlatovlaska, but I have found a wife for me too,” Shahzadah said, also bowing his head. “My father, Jiřík had to die to save me, and he found me the husband,” Zlatovlaska said, kissing father´s hands and pouring them with tears. “May his soul find his peace,” the old king cried. “Bless you all: you, Gerceanu, and your wife, honourable princess of Mermaids, you, Shahzadah, and your wife, princess of the Eagles. And bless you, Palunko, the new king after me and the husband of Zlatovlaska.” The old king died in peace. Palunko with Zlatovlaska were clever, and good rulers and they lived happily ever after. THE END The performance was taken place in the theatre hall of neighbouring Elementary school of Arts.

The texts were divided into larger parts for the groups of students to read and translate. When they were finished, the texts were exchanged to study the rest of materials in native language. Besides, all groups should suggest the own version of new mosaic text using the elements from the evaluation form. As a great advantage we find the opening of the seminar focused to Comenius activities. Our work became more effective. Athena neither wanted nor could merry Dracula. The Goddess Artemis was on Athena’s side and she besided to her huntress. She asked Vlasta and her girls for help. Dracula asked Delu Dumrul for help, who was even really far away known for his strength, and Ctirad, Vlasta’s enemy. They also asked the Great Jože for help, but he refused and went to cultivate his field on the Doghead hill. During the war, Poseidon gave the army of men horses for help. Athena thought that the whole conflict was pointless, so she ultimately planted olive tree seed to the centre of the field to provoke a desire for peace of the combatants. SCENE ONE THE TOP OF OLYMPUS MOUNTAIN On the top of Olympus there stand gold thrones of the Greece Gods, all being empty, except Athena’s throne. She sits on her throne, deep in her thoughts. Suddenly Dracula comes to Olympus, with his gutsy and rapid steps as a large as rolling water.
  • 39. Valentýna Horáčková as Athena; Ondřej Hrdlička as the Count Dracula Michaela Fojtů as a storyteller The Goddess, angry that Dracula disturbed her meditation, rises from her throne. Athena: How can a mortal like you believe that he can only compete to marry a goddess? Dracula: I’m not a mere mortal; I am the Count Dracula, wise and powerful monarch, whose people are the most honest. Athena (disdainfully): That is so, but only under threat of death. Dracula: The main thing is that it works. Athena: Even if you were the wisest of the wisest, and the most powerful of the most powerful, I would never married you. Not only because your cruelty is disgusting me, but I also have taken an oath that I will never marry any god or man ever. Dracula: I don’t care about your oath! (raising his voice) I am the Count Dracula and your oath means nothing to me. I am offering you a marriage, so take it! Suddenly a Goddess Artemis appears beside Athena. Artemis: How dare you, you worm! Perhaps you didn’t hear. Athena sworn and she will obey it! Do you want me to send my huntress on you? (threatening him) Dracula: I fear nothing and no one! Your huntress will be a breeze for me! Arteis: (nearly red by anger, screaming at Dracula) As you want, this means war! My warriors will be not fighting with you alone. Get some fighters and after two days we will meet at the foot of the Acropolis, where we will crush you. Dracula: (proudly) Well than, we have a deal! After he said it, he was quickly walking away. Athena and Artemis are just staying there alone. Athena: Did you lose your mind? You don’t have enough hunters to defeat him. There is no way we can beat them. (Athena was really worried)
  • 40. Magdaléna Horáčková as Artemis Kristýna Dvořáčková as Coachman Artemis: Dear Athena, you are really wise, but I probably know something that you don’t. Far away, in the Bohemian lands, there is a maidens’ war happening right now; a war between men and women. I think that the women leader Vlasta could help us. We just have to convince her. Athena: But how can you convince her to join this war, when she has a lot of her own problems? Artemis: (smiling and disappearing) Trust me, let me do it on my own. SCENE TWO SOMEWHERE ON THE OLYMPUS Dracula, indignant because of the rejection, he is leaving and wondering who should ask him for help. He is coming down to the carriage, which is waiting for him. Near the carriage, there is a coachman standing by his horses. Coachman: Where is the bride, sir? Dracula is still mad, looking at the driver and sighing Dracula: There will be no wedding, but a war instead. It means I have to find some good warriors. Coachman: And what about your army sir? You have hundreds of soldiers and brave warriors. Isn’t that enough? Dracula: No! I need something better if I want to fight back for my honour! I need something special. Coachman: And what about the brave and courageous hero Delu Dumrul? I heard he is enormously strong, there is also a rumour about some great Jože. That is something special. And also a man called Ctirad could help you, he is in war now, but I am sure he will have enough of time for you. Dracula was surprised how much the driver knew and he also liked the fighter that he had been informed about.
  • 41. Michaela Fojtů as Vlasta Dracula: How do you know so much? Where did you learn this? Coachman: You know, always when I’m waiting for you I am reading newspapers and I always learn something interesting. Dracula was surprised. He never heard of newspapers and what he just heard fascinated him. Dracula: So newspapers you say? And do you know where can I find those men? Coachman: Oh! Sure thing! Get in the carriage and I will take you to Delu Dumrul. (Dracula is hopping on carriage and coachman is urging the horses) Coachman: You know he has this bridge… (drives voice was lost in the distance) SCENE THREE NEAR THE FORTRESS DĚVÍN (MAIDENSBERG) Around the wooden fortress Devin is everything quiet, you can hear almost nothing but the soft rustle of the wind and the occasional groan of a slowly dying men. Vlasta, standing with one foot on body of the dead man, is cleaning her sword from blood and watching how men are escaping on the horizon. Or at least what's left of them. Vlasta: Yeah! Another battle won! Perhaps they will know that they have no chance against us, and they will finally give up. I’m tired of fighting all the time with those same cowards. Suddenly goddess Artemis appears beside Vlasta. Artemis: That’s good to hear, brave Vlasta. Vlasta: (surprised, staring on the goddess) Who are you? Živa? Lada? Baba jaga? Goddess? Fairy? Ghost? And what is good to hear? Artemis: I’m the virgin goddess Artemis and I want to offer you and your girls a chance to co-work with my hunter in the fight against one unbearable man. You help us, and then we will help you with your final battle against men. Vlasta thought for a moment, looked around the dead bodies and hid her, now glittering sword back into its sheath.
  • 42. Yuriy Marina as Delu Dumrul Magdaléna Hartová as second storyteller Vlasta: It is true that we have this struggle almost in our pockets, and a little cheer up somewhere else would help us. I just wanted to know who is the awful man, and then we will know what we can expect from him. Artemis: To be honest, I do not know myself. It's a Count Dracula. He thinks about himself that he is terribly clever and powerful, maybe he is, but I want to show him that he cannot have everything he wants. I want to cash his army and I need your help, if you join us. Vlasta: I crash men to dust. I’d love to help you. Where and when will the fight be? We can go anytime. Artemis: Leave traveling on me, nothing is impossible for the goddess of hunting! (clapping her hands, and with Vlasta and all her girls is disappearing) SCENE FOUR THE DELU DUMRUL’S BRIDGE Above the dry riverbed stands a stone bridge. At its centre sits a man on a stool, counting gold in the bag. Suddenly some decorated carriage is arriving to the bridge. Count Dracula is hopping of the carriage and going to the man. Dracula: (imperiously) Are you Delu Dumrul? Delu: Yes I am, and you should give me 33 akchas. Dracula: (surprised) What? Delu: You are crossing my bridge, so you have to give me 33 akchas. Otherwise I will beat you and I will take 40 akchas. Dracula: (loughing) I like your attitude. But I'm not going to go across your bridge. I am coming to ask you, if you join my army in a battle. Delu: (surprised) Really?
  • 43. Lukáš Korol as Veli Jože Dracula: Yes, I have heard that you are a great and strong hero. I think that we have to fight together. Delu: I want to go with you, but if I do not guard the bridge, who will be collecting 33 akchas from everyone who wants to cross the bridge? Dracula: Oh, do not worry, come with us, after we win, I will give you 3333 akchas! Delu: 3333! Well, good deal, ok than. I'm with you. Dracula and Delu Dumrul are shaking their right hands, and together they are hopping on the carriage. Dracula: Hey, coachman! Take us to that giant. (Dracula is doing the order and carriage is slowly moving off) SCENE FIVE DOGHEAD HILL Carriage is driving slowly up the Doghead hill, but the hill doesn´t look like a dog's head, it looks like a normal hill. Dracula and Delu Dumrul are slowly leavingthe carriage and walking up the hill. On the hill they are seeing a giant, working on his field. Dracula is coming to him and shaking with him, so the giant can hear him. Dracula: Hey, Giant! Hey, could you stop working for a while; I would like to talk with you. Giant Jože: What do you want me to do and why are you yelling, I'm not deaf man! Dracula: Giant, I would like you to join me in a fight. Giant Jože: Why would I fight with you? I do not need to fight against anyone. I can make it on my own with my field. Dracula: I'll pay you a lot of gold, Giant. Giant Jože: I do not want your gold, it’s useless for me, and my name is not Giant, but Jože, my name is Jože! Dracula: What about your friends? Those wouldn’t go to war with us?
  • 44. Jože: No! Fight your own war, little sir, we'll stay here at the Doghead. We are fed up with human deals. Working for people, fighting for people, dying for people – do not bother us anymore! Dracula: Little sir? Small sir? I am Count Dracula, not a small man! As you want, I just wanted to help you. Do as you think. (Indignantly left) Such a rude man, if he was in my country he would no longer have his head on his neck. Dracula rejected by Jože told the coachman to take him to Ctirad. His carriage is driving towards the Bohemian lands. SCENE SIX AROUND THE DĚVÍN FORTRESS Around the fortress Devin is complete silence. Everywhere are lying bodies of killed men but they do not groan anymore. Ctirad and his men are looking over the battlefield in astonishment and wondering what has happened to their rivals. Suddenly a carriage is coming. Dracula and Delu are hopping of the carriage, coming to Ctirad, who is staying between them and his men. Dracula: Are you Ctirad? (looking around) I have thought that you are fighting in the war. Ctirad: Me too. But It seems like our rivals have disappeared. Dracula: Well, that's wonderful! (rejoicing and clapping hands happily) So that means that you can go with us; you will be able follow us into a battle. Come on! Get on board. Ctirad: To what? Fight? And why we should help you? Moreover, I have no idea who you are. Dracula: I am Romanian Count Dracula and you will come with me, because I have said so. So let’s go, time is running out. We have to go to Greece. Ctirad: Romania? Greece? Where is it? And I still do not think that anything you have said is a good reason for us to go with you. Dracula had to think for a moment: he needs Ctirad to join him. Finally, he decided that he will simply give him money. Dracula: How about this, if you take your men and join us, I will give you as much gold, as you weigh with all your armour. Jiří Švic as Ctirad
  • 45. Andrea Limberská as 3 rd storyteller Ctirad: Well that sounds good, and moreover we have nothing to do since the maidens and women have gone. (shouting) All right then, let's go to Greece! Ctirad is hopping on the carriage with Dracula and Delu Dumrul and his men are running behind them. SCENE SEVEN THE FOOT OF THE ACROPOLIS The time to fight has come. Artemis huntress with Vlasta and her maidens are staying in full armour on one side, on the other side is slowly arriving Dracula's carriage, pulled by donkeys, and running Ctirad’s men behind it, along with Dracula’s army. Athena is watching it all with disgust. Dracula, Delu Dumrul, and Ctirad are hopping of the carriage and seizing their weapons. Suddenly Poseidon appears among the men. He is coming because he was mad at Athena, because Zeus decided that Erectheo’s village will be named after her. He is coming to Dracula with the intention to give him a gift. Poseidon: Count Dracula, here I am offering you a gift: a horse. So you never have to ride on a donkey. Perhaps he will serve well in combat. (is giving the Count a bridle which has beautiful white horse at its end.) Poseidon is disappearing. Dracula is getting on a horse and wants to go into battle. On the other side, while the girls are honing swords and knives, Vlasta is acquainting with the tactics of the fight. Athena cannot look how they all are going to this absurd war, and so she is deciding to stop it. She is coming to the battlefield. When she reaches the middle, she is trusting a hole in the ground and throwing small seed in it and enveloping it with soil. Then she is moving away. Suddenly from out of the ground is growing a little sprout, changing into a beautiful tall tree with a strong trunk. Athena: Look! (Nobly crying) this is Olive. I have planted it here to remind you peace; and that this conflict is totally unnecessary. Look at this tree, and fold your weapons before someone gets hurt!
  • 46. Everyone is staring at the tree, its thick trunk and on the leaves, which beautifully reflect sunlight. Suddenly everybody feels like they do not want to fight anymore, they want peace. And so they put down their weapons. Count Dracula is drinking with bliss, sending his soldiers home, giving Ctirad as much gold as he can carry. Ctirad with his men are going back to Bohemia in front of fortress Děvín. Dracula is giving Delu Dumrul promised 3333 akchas and even is adding extra one. Artemis is going to say farewell to Vlasta. Artemis: Vlasta, I thank you that you have joined us. As thanks to you, I'll send one of my huntress, whose name is Šárka, perhaps she will be useful in your war. Vlasta then with her girls and Šárka is returning back home. Athena: (powerfully) Goodbye, Dracula! Dracula: I promise you that I will never return to Greece. Look, I have a wonderful idea: to look more after my own country, to give everyone order and law. Thank you for meeting with your prudence. When all go away, Athena returns to Olympus, sits down on her throne, continuing with the meditations. ►THE END◄ This theatre performance was recorded in one of classrooms of our school. It was arranged within the Seminar of Comenius activities.

  • 54. Libuše, a character that leads us through the plot and announces every scene and what happens in that scene walks onto the stage. She introduces herself to the audience and walks to the desk where she finds a laptop and a glass of juice. LIBUŠE: Hi people! I'm Libuše. People often ask me: ''Are you Krok's little girl?'' And I answer: ''Yes, he's my old man.'' And I've got this amazing ability (points at laptop): I can see far in the past, and even further in the future. And when I see where this world is going, I feel like giving up on this power. Considering the things that are happenning nowadays, this future is approaching us fast. Have you heard what happened in the Czech Republic? Here come boys and girls to tell you about it themselves. 1st SCENE (the Czech Republic) (3 boys and 3 girls walk onto the stage) BOY No1: What's up babe? What's that duckface image on your profile picture? ŠARKA: My profile picture is better than your girlfriend's. Oh, wait, you don't have a girlfriend. (giggling) VLASTA: Anyway, who would want him lookin' like that? (laughs mockingly) BOY No2: What are you talkin' about? He can have any girl he wants. And how many guys have you had? (asks while looking at Šarka) ŠARKA: That's none of your business. BOY No3: So, none. (boys are laughing, Šarka is embarrassed and bows her head) GIRL No3: Why are you listening to him at all? We all know he's just a… VLASTA: (interrupts the girl) …fool. (knocks the BOY No1 on the head) ŠARKA: But I like that fool. (flicks her fingers) BOY No1: Sorry babe, I was just kidding. You're okay. (touches her shoulder and winks) ŠARKA: Hahaha, I can't believe you fell for that. (claps several times) (boys and girls are leaving, but only BOY No1 and ŠARKA stay) BOY No1: So, maybe we could grab a coffee once? ŠARKA: Are you asking me out? BOY No1: Not like a date, just hanging out, you know. ŠARKA: Oh, too bad, I thought you like me. (bows her head) BOY No1: (speaks like he wants to apologize) It's not that I don't like you, it's just… ŠARKA: (interrupts him) Oh please, you're acting like a girl, I'm just kidding you. Let's grab a coffee, I'm buyin'. (leaving the stage) LIBUŠE: (sitting on a chair with a laptop in her lap) I'm just reading news from Croatia. The Croatians are celebrating the Independence day, the day they became a free, independent nation. Can you imagine how valuable it is to a person?! 2nd SCENE (Croatia) (2 veterans meet on the stage, Ilija and Jože. Ilija is dragging his leg because he got shot in the leg during war. The scene takes place on a square in one Croatian city. Not far from them is a cafe called BALTAZAR) JOŽE: Ilija, is that you? ILIJA: Am I seeing who I think am seeing? Are my eyes deceiving me? JOŽE: Ilija, my good old friend. I haven't seen you in years! (they hug)
  • 55. ILIJA: Where are you going wearing those army clothes? JOŽE: I was at church, there was a mass to celebrate the Independence Day. Where have you been? ILIJA: At the Independence Day ceremony. Do you have some time? Let's go to that cafe and have something to drink. JOŽE: I'm not really in for coffee, I'll have some good wine. ILIJA: Oh Jože! You haven't changed a bit. You can’t go without some wine. (they enter BALTAZAR cafe, sit at the table, order drinks and coffee and get served) ILIJA: How's life been treating you? How are your wife and children? JOŽE: I'm getting old, my friend…My wife is fine and the kids are growing up…asking for more and more. I can't pay for everything they need with one pension. ILIJA: We shouldn't be unsatisfied despite the crisis. My pension feeds me and my wife. JOŽE: It might be better if I had no problem with this leg. ILIJA: You should be glad that you're alive. Do you remember what it was like when you got wounded in the war? How I dragged you to the car…and then through the woods…to the hospital… You were lucky. JOŽE: Yes, yes… I remember everything like it was yesterday. We were ready to give our lives for freedom. ILIJA: Well, it's all behind us now. It's nice to be alive and free. It's good that I ran into you. Are you farming that land and those vineyards of yours? JOŽE: No, my friend. Everything is covered in weeds. The two of us could redo it and then we would have wine to drink and to sell. That's a great idea. (Ilija's phone rings, he answers it) ILIJA: Hello! Oh, it’s you? …I'm not at the doctor's, but at BALTAZAR’s. Guess who I ran into, you won’t believe this – Jože… Yeah, yeah… Okay, okay… (speaks to Jože) Listen, my wife invited you over to have lunch with us. She has just finished cooking. (Jože hesitates, but accepts) Then, let's go. We can discuss the vineyards in peace, then ask for subvention and roll up our sleeves… (they pay for their drinks and leave the stage talking) LIBUŠE: (browsing the net) And now let me see the latest news. What a scandal in Turkey! (reads) Imagine! One twenty-year- old man named Delu Dumrul was earning money by charging the visitors admission to enter the old town. But "What goes around, comes around" is not said in vain - the newspaper said. After discovering the fraud, an unidentified group of young men beat him up. 3rd SCENE (TURKEY) on stage: Delu Dumrul, Azrail, the Dumrul’s father, mother and a girlfriend (the walls of the old town can be seen in the background) DELU DUMRUL: (looks at the bruise on his eye in the mirror) Oh mirror, mirror, my eye is blue-purplish color. AZRAIL: Well, my friend, I told you not to do that. You are paid too well for greeting two or three tourists who come to see the remains of the old city. DELU DUMRUL: When they come on a tour of the old town, then there are two or three of them. Yesterday when they came to beat me up, there were six of them. AZRAIL: You were lucky. But how will you go to work with that black eye? DELOS DUMRUL: Don't ask. Don't know. (Delu Dumrul walks to his father) DELU DUMRUL: Hey paps, I need a favor. FATHER: I don't have any money. DELU DUMRUL: It's not about that. Tomorrow someone needs to give a tour of the old town, and I, with this bruise, am not the prettiest sight.
  • 56. FATHER: And you think that I can do your work and mine? DELU DUMRUL: Don't blame me for asking. FATHER: I am not, but ask someone else. (Delu Dumrul goes to his mother) MOTHER: (gets scared by Delu Dumrul) Dear Allah, you scare me every time I see you. (takes a closer look at the bruise) DELU DUMRUL: Yap, yap, my eye will change all the rainbow colours till it's gone. I wanted to ask you something. MOTHER: I don't have any money. DELU DUMRUL: It's not about that. Tomorrow someone has to welcome the tourists and give them a tour of the old town, and I can't go with this bruise, I'll scare them off. MOTHER: You realize that I have to go to work tomorrow? DELU DUMRUL: Interesting. Whenever I want some privacy, you're home, and when I need a favor, you're not. MOTHER: You have a girlfriend, right? (Delu Dumrul goes to his girlfriend) DELU DUMRUL: Babe, you're my last hope. If tomorrow someone doesn't replace me, I'll lose my job. GIRLFRIEND: Oh my love, you should've thought about that sooner. DELU DUMRUL: So, you won't help me. GIRLFRIEND: Oh okay, I will. But if I get beaten too, it'll be your fault. DELU DUMRUL: Yeeeey! I have the best girl ever! (they hug) GIRLFRIEND: (towards the audience) And what should I do with him? (leaves the stage) DELU DUMRUL: (towards the audience) However, when this bruise is gone, I should find a real job. (leaves the stage) LIBUŠE: (drinks some juice and browses the net again) What do we have here? In Bacau in Romania, the traditional festival is to begin to celebrate the Day of the city. Although it has been famous for a long while, this year will be specially marked with a wide selection of drinks and food. Mayor Dracula will open the celebration. So let's see what it's going to be like. 4th SCENE (Romania) (takes place on the main square, on the stage there are: Dracula, a girl, a young man, 2 thieves, 2 police officers and a few citizens) (on the opening Dracula first gives a toast) DRACULA: Listen, folks! I have arranged free food and drinks for this festival again this year because our city is rich and you deserve it. Let's all make a toast to this important day! Cheers! (everyone raises their glasses and the party continues) (There comes a young man with a bicycle and parks it on the side. He approaches one girl and they visit the stalls. After that, they come forward on the stage, closer to the audience) YOUNG MAN: Have you ever been on those wine, cheese and dried food products tastings? I end up with my stomack full every year. GIRL: You mean you walk from a stall to stall and eat everything that they offer? (laughs) YOUNG MAN: Let me take a picture of you! (tries to take a photo of her) GIRL: No, my hair's a mess! (While they're talking, a thief comes along and steals the bike. Two citizens notice that and point at the thief, whispering something. The young man also notices that his bike is gone.) YOUNG MAN: Where's my bicycle? Who took it? GIRL: Let's report this to Dracula. (they complain about the theft to Dracula) DRACULA: Citizens, listen to me! There's been a theft, someone stole this young man's bicycle! Whoever saw anything, may come here and report it!
  • 57. (two citizens approach Dracula and tell what they had seen) DRACULA: (addresses the officers) Now bring me that geek who dares to steal before my very eyes. (police officers leave and soon come back with two thieves) THIEF: I didn't want to steal it. He put me up to it. He had promised to give me a cell- phone if I stole that bike and took it to him. DRACULA: ''The thief is also the one holding the ladder.'' – the proverb says. Take them both to jail! (police officers take them to jail and others are leaving) LIBUŠE: (sitting and browsing the net) I’ve got a mail, I’ve got a message from a friend. So let's see what it says. "This is a story about the wisdom of the Greek gods, the skill and confidence needed to achieve each goal. Send this email to 20 friends, but do not interrupt the chain. Send me back If you like me. " 5th SCENE (Greece) (coming to the stage: Zeus carries his throne – the chair and sets it in the middle, Mars, Aphrodite, Athena, Poseidon and some other gods...) ZEUS: People, at the today's session of Parliament we will finally name that village. MARS: Well, it's about time. APHRODITE: And how will we choose the name? GODS: (talking to each other) We have no idea! ZEUS: Well, here's the idea. Two Gods will draw on their desks. The one who makes a better drawing will name the village. GODS: Good idea. Who's going to draw? ZEUS: Let it be Athena and Poseidon. They draw the best, it'll be interesting to watch them. (Gods prepar chart paper on two desks. As they draw, other gods walk and observe. Poseidon shows a drawing of a horse.) GODS: (shouting) Squirrel! Dragon! Polar bear! POSEIDON: (rolls his eyes offended) (then Athens shows her drawing) GODS: Plum! Nut! Cherry! proverb GODS: Olive Oil! ATHENS: (nods and circles the tree) GODS: Olive tree! ATHENS: (smiles and puts both hands in the air) Victoooory! ZEUS: Well done kid, you chose well. Olive tree will be a symbol of wisdom and victory of life. Therefore, the village will be named after you. We will call it Athens! (the villagers enter the stage celebrating and singing a song about life and love) 6th LIBUŠE: All these stories carry their messages. We no longer have to bother with the past events. The future has already begun, and as for the past ... we're not heading in that direction anyway. (all actors come to the stage to greet the audience)
