2. Who is the client?
Canon. The client canon Is an imaging company famous for making digital cameras and
other Imaging products for photography and film through their products, their focus is
on driving advanced technologies and celebrating innovation, the company’s philosophy
is known as the kyosei philosophy which is a Japanese concept meaning living and
working together for the common good.
What is the name of the campaign?
The name of the campaign is the journeys campaign
3. What it’s the purpose of the company
Canon’s purpose is to produce, market and sell imaging products, like cameras for photography
and video cameras, as well as printers and accessories for cameras, worldwide companies like
canon are responsible for making digital cameras used to make tv shows and movies as well as
images used for advertising certain products, they are responsible for making them products for
people wanting to buy them and to meet demand for those wanting to buy the products
4. What do they want from you?
They want me to create an advertisement to go with journey’s campaign that fits the theme of
the campaign and that is tailored to the demographic that will buy these products, that means
focusing on the age of the demographic as well as photographers or film makers as canon
makes a wide range of different digital cameras
5. What issues do you have to consider with regards
to your client?
The products they make as to fit the same theme as the campaign and the client’s
business/products or services as well as the client’s main demographic of customers as to make
the advertisement more suited to what they would buy to make it relevant and more aimed
towards the community after said products
6. Target audience:
Who is the target audience?
Include demographics and social grade, possibly psychographics: the target audience would be
those looking to purchase a camera or other imaging equipment, the target audience is also
going to be those that afford to buy Canon’s cameras as they are expensive ranging in prices
from £4000 to £200.
The target audience is most likely going to be an audience that is between young adults and
adults who will know how to use digital cameras and other more modern imaging
devices/equipment as technology is getting more and more advanced
7. How do you know who the target audience is? Use the
brief and your research to support your opinion.
The brief tells us that the target audience is between the ages of 15-25. The aim is to encourage
young people to form a brand allegiance to Canon equipment and services. The younger
audience is a perfect target audience with technology getting more advance and more modern,
cameras today are easier to use and offer a variety of different ways to capture videos and
photos, the more interesting and more advanced technology will not only be easier to use but
also more convenient to use with cameras being more compact. These cameras will benefit the
younger audience as studies show that younger people are lazier and prefer convenience, so
cameras being easier to use will mean Canon can bring in the younger audience easier.
8. Are there any issues you have to consider for your target
audience? Such as what does your demographic face, what
journeys doe they take, metaphorically and in their day-to-day
life?
The target audience are younger which means they probably have less money than an older
audience probably do, this means Canon’s products will probably have to be made cheaper to
appeal to this audience, because if Canon’s products are too expensive it’ll turn away the
audience to another company/brand that is a cheaper more affordable price
9. Research
Can you find any written articles about ‘journeys’ for your demographic
My inspiration is video games and how its evolved and how I’ve grown up and changed with them

Targeted to a more younger
audience as a younger

likely to take pictures while
they’re out
Brightly lit, colourful yet

13. Reflection of the person
taking a picture in the
eye, showing the
product in a unique
way, making the advert
itself stand out
Shows the creative
pictures that can
be taken with this
camera
This advert could appeal
to professional
photographers, not for a
younger audience
14. Ideas for the advert
My ideas for the print advert is to take
images using night photography to mix
darkness with lights to create a really eye-
catching advert using a canon print
advert as Inspiration for my idea
15. This image shows the light mixed into the light of the city in the
background, the city in the distance is out of focus but in focus on
the screen of the camera giving a cool image in an image effect,
could be used to showcase a camera as it’s the main focus of the
image
16. Who is the target audience?
The target audience are those from 16-25 not only because they are the most likely to buy this
product but because my ad will be more targeted towards them
17. What research can you present to justify who
your target audience is?
Most people aged 16-25 tend to go out and have a night life which is perfect for my topic which is
to do with night photography
18. Why is a print advert a good idea for this campaign?
A print advert is a good idea because it can be made to be eye
catching and people can see it while out doing their day to day
things meaning it could possibly be seen by more people
19. Ideas on fonts, colour scheme, images and layout. You
should demonstrate that you have a variety of ideas
and how you have narrowed down that list to what
you think is the best idea
Ideas on fonts, colour scheme, images and layout. You

The colours would have to be bright and eye catching to
match with the advertisement as the advertisement will
be dark with lights to make it colourful. The font could
match up with the font used with the canon logo
20. Why do you think this would be
a successful print advert, what's
its USP
I think this would be a successful print advert
because the night photography with the dark
and lights could be eye-catching as well as
matching with the demographic as most
people aged 15-25 go out at night
21. How do you think your print
advert is idea is right for the
client and their needs?
I think my print advert is right for the client
and their needs as it shows travel/journeys at
night which matches up with the target
audience as they are more likely to go out at
night
