What is Drone ?
• Flying robot that can be remotely
controlled using software-controlled
flight plans in an embedded system with
onboard sensors and a global positioning
system.

Types
a). Multi Rotor Drones
• They have more than one motor.
• Easiest and cheapest.
• Tricopter (3 rotors), Quadcopter
(4 rotors), Hexacopter (6 rotors),
Octocopters (8 rotors), etc.
c). Single Rotor Drones
• A single-rotor has just one rotor,
• one big spinning wing, plus a tail rotor
to stable similar to actual helicopters
• Single-rotor drone types are strong and
durable.
d). Fixed Wing Hybrid
Drones
• Hybrid VTOL drone a fixed-wing &
rotor-based designs allowing it to
hover and take off and land
vertically.
• Example of VTOL is Amazon’s
Prime Air delivery drone.
b). Fixed Wing Drones
• Has one rigid wing look and work
like an airplane, providing lift
rather than vertical lift rotors.
• Hence, needs energy to move
forward and not to hold itself in
the air. This makes it energy-
efficient.

FLIGHT C0NTROLLER & SENSORS
The most important part & the brain of the drone
Flight controller
Gyroscope determine the rate of rotation or
angular velocity
Gyroscope
Determine linear movement along any axis
Accelerometer
Measures air pressure which manage drone altitude
Barometer
Gps provide current position &location to drone.
Ultrasonic sensor measure distance from object around and advice
the sensor
Gps & Ultrasonic sensor
1’st STEP BEFORE FLY
1-Factory Reset.
2-Load motor layout (Quadcopter x mode)
3-ACC Calibration ( Must be done by keeping drone on
flat surface )
4-Check sensors – all ok, if any sensor not ok go for ACC
calibration again , if showing error continuously, Then
sensor is damaged. In such case do not use the FC.
5- Receiver test, make sure receiver and Transmitter is
powered ON and Binding is done properly. Check
transmitter movement direction and values changing, set
the directions accordingly.
6-All other settings in kk 2.1.5 ,like PI edit, self-level
settings, mode settings etc to be done by reading
respective FC manuals.
