2. There are many things that must change for every citizen to benefit from
our democracy, not just a few. That is why I vote, and I urge younger
people to vote it is important to do your part in the change that you want
to see.

• Stop police brutality among minorities
• Stronger gun control
3. I’ve learned quite a bit in this class this semester. If anything this class
helped refresh my memory on federal government, considering I
haven’t taken a government class in about 4 years.
• Laws on Veto power
• Appellate and Supreme court cases
• Separation of powers
4. Gun Control
As you have witnessed in recent news. Gun control should be on the
forefront of reform policies. It is ridiculous that parents are burying
their children after sending to places that are deemed safe! When will
it stop, and how will it stop?
Stronger gun control is essential for the future and for the youth of
America. We can not keep sending prayers and thoughts regarding a
topic that can easily be handled by action.

5. 1st Amendment
I believe the first amendment is the most important because it
outlines the basic principles of a civil democracy. The amendments
that follow would not be possible if the 1st amendment didn’t protect
your basic freedoms as a citizen. The 1st amendment also allows us to
take an active role in reform and change that we want to see.
6. Lessons learned
• Social Media is a new way to campaign: I’ve learned recently that a
lot of political campaigns now are taking advantage of the massive
social media trend that is occurring. Many candidates are engaging
with younger people via these platforms and getting them to go out
and vote.
• Also learned that media biases do exist, and that we have to
ultimately decided our stance on a particular topic.
• In the end, it up to us to make change. We are the future of
American, and we have to start taking initiative to see change
happen.
