1,300+ product lines and 25,000+ SKUs. Several issues revolving around product data began
to emerge including redundant product entries, scattered data across four different ERP and
PLM Systems, multiple data management policies (one for each system) inconsistent product
information and disparate descriptions.

data management (MDM) solution and after
evaluating the leading providers, they chose
Riversand’s MDMCenter. MDM serves as a single

Our client made the strategic decision to invest in Riversand’s MDMCenter for a superior data
management experience and to complement this solution with an integrated MAM system
which significantly cut down the time required to create, correct and publish digital assets.
Riversand’s core MDMCenter provides manufacturing companies with the necessary tools,
processes, and data governance policies to create a central data pool from where the
information flows as needed. This powerful data hub can also be accompanied by Riversand’s
Media Asset Management (MAM) add-on for creating and exporting digital assets. This
fully-integrated software within the MDMCenter’s database draws on cleansed master data
and automatically deploys rich data sheets and product catalogs, across a diverse set of
channels, according to the needs and specifications of each individual business unit.
During the initial stages of the project, Riversand cleaned up all the product data and
identified the correct source of master data where conflicting attributes were found.
Afterward, Riversand’s MDMCenter and Media Asset Manager (MAM) were immediately
implemented to prevent data from slowly deteriorating. The MDMCenter replaced all the
redundant legacy systems and saved the company more than $100,000 in additional
operating costs per year.
The marketing efforts also became less labor intensive when utilizing a central data pool for
all the product lines. Different business departments across the globe used to write their own
product descriptions for identical products. MDM substantially streamlined this process: a
single product description is now loaded into the digital Center and shared across the globe
along with the language translations. Marketing claims also stayed consistent across different
channels and regions; this has enabled a reduction in marketing expenses of approximately
$500,000 per year.
The company’s Marketing Executive noted, “Riversand’s solution enables us to easily access

images are stored and tagged by country along with supporting text in 23 languages so we can
