We are currently looking for a qualified Jr. Web Developer to join the team in our growing
Information Technology Department. Kernow Capital Corporation, a leader in ATA Carnets,
customs guarantee, surety bonding and marine insurance, is expanding within our specialized
niche. We are actively searching for additional IT Resources to be a part of our expansion. Our
professional but relaxed headquarters offices is located near downtown Barrington, IL.
The Jr. web developer’s responsibilities include creating, maintaining and documenting
applications, data structures, state of the art customer portals and ETL processes in support of
our mission critical business processes. The role also supports the Helpdesk function and
provides internal support to application users, on-premises and remote
Technical Skills Required
• 1-3 years of experience developing web applications on Microsoft platforms (IIS on
Windows) using ASP. NET, VB.NET, C#, bootstrap,
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, SQL Server Enterprise Manager/Query
Analyzer
• Front end development skills (CSS, Javascript, JQuery, HTML, Ajax, Browser
compatibility)
• Application development and deployment experience with cloud services (e.g. Azure,
AWS, GCP)
• SQL Server 2008 and above development experience (T-SQL, SSIS), SSIS
deployment.
• Experience with Graphic Design tools like Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator.
• Familiarity with 3rd party tools (Telerik), Power BI and Crystal Reports a plus
• Familiarity with CRM’s like SalesForce, Goldmine is a plus
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance and security
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred. Associate degree in Computer
Science considered.
General Skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot code, SQL,
IIS
• Ability to quickly become familiar with and maintain existing applications and
produce finished applications in a rapid development environment under deadline
• Experience generating and maintaining technical documentation
• Ability to accurately estimate level-of-effort based on requirements/specifications
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to learn quickly and multi-task when necessary
• Extremely Detail oriented, strong Work Ethic and excellent communication required
• SharePoint development a big plus

2. Job Description Junior Web Developer 3-8-2019
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30
a.m. to 5 p.m.

Compensation including salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and education.
Relocation services or compensation are not available. Independent contractors are not being
