• Education is considered as one of the most important
social services
• Educational outcome need to be evaluated w/ the
purpose of improving the teaching learning process
• As one of the teachers primary roles , evaluation should
utilize
• appropriate
• Valid
• Reliable instrument
• That can gather sufficient data so they can make a
decision such as
• 1. to reteach the lesson taught or
proceed to the next lesson
• 2. to provide for certification purposes
• 3. to determine the students ‘
weaknesses in order to provide
remedial instruction
4. To determine where the teacher
should begin or start teaching
•There are three domains of
learning namely :
• COGNITIVE
• AFFECTIVE
•
PSYCHOMOTOR
• The cognitive domains includes knowledge
,comprehension , application , analysis, and
evaluation
• AFFECTIVE
• The affective domain comprises receiving ,
responding, valuing, organization and
characterization
• PSYCHOMOTOR
• The psychomotor domain consist of
observing ,imitating ,practicing and
• Assessment and evaluation . As integral parts of the
teaching and learning process, should not only document
what students know and can do , but also those that
affect their learning and motivation

ASSESSMENT
• Most of pre instructional assessment is
done though informal teacher observation .
The result of these assessment provides
information about lacking competencies
such as knowledge and skills . Then , the
teacher makes a decision to start the
content and materials that are not too
difficult for the students . If students do well
in such activities , then the teacher decides
to move on to the next higher level of
• The teachers monitors student learning
and set his teaching at a level that
challenges students metacognitive thinking
or higher level thinking . Assessment at
this stage detects which students would
require more attention . In this assessment
, the teacher observes whether students
are moving toward the achievement of
instructional objectives ; any deviation
made can be redirected toward its proper
• Monitors whether the students have
mastered the basic contents
,knowledge and skills required for the
learning activity .this assessment is
done to make decisions whether to
proceed to the next lesson or reteach
the lesson taught . This assessment
also gives information whether to give
a passing or failing grade to students
Teachers evaluate because they want
to make a decisions before, during
and after instruction . When teachers
decide not to make decisions because
of insufficient information right there
and then , he is making a decisions all
classroom decisions should be
supported by empirical evidence .

• Evaluation focuses on determining where
the student are– their prior knowledge . If
the teacher knows where his students are,
he can design educational activities that
utilize students ‘ prior knowledge as
foundation of his present teaching
• EVALUATION focuses on the
comparison of the instructional
outcome with that of the preset
standard . This preset standard is
implicitly stated as part of the
objectives in the teachers lesson plan
• Implies that evaluation is used to
determine students’ weaknesses are
identified the addressed properly ,
then the teacher has accomplished
his task of helping students cope with
their weaknesses
• Evaluation ensures that there is holistic
mastery of the lesson plan from the
beginning to the end of instruction . This
assessment summarizes the development
of learners at a given period of time w/ the
ultimate purpose of giving a mark of grade
.

  • 3. • Education is considered as one of the most important social services • Educational outcome need to be evaluated w/ the purpose of improving the teaching learning process • As one of the teachers primary roles , evaluation should utilize • appropriate • Valid • Reliable instrument • That can gather sufficient data so they can make a decision such as
  • 4. • 1. to reteach the lesson taught or proceed to the next lesson • 2. to provide for certification purposes • 3. to determine the students ‘ weaknesses in order to provide remedial instruction 4. To determine where the teacher should begin or start teaching

  • 12. • Most of pre instructional assessment is done though informal teacher observation . The result of these assessment provides information about lacking competencies such as knowledge and skills . Then , the teacher makes a decision to start the content and materials that are not too difficult for the students . If students do well in such activities , then the teacher decides to move on to the next higher level of
  • 13. • The teachers monitors student learning and set his teaching at a level that challenges students metacognitive thinking or higher level thinking . Assessment at this stage detects which students would require more attention . In this assessment , the teacher observes whether students are moving toward the achievement of instructional objectives ; any deviation made can be redirected toward its proper
  • 14. • Monitors whether the students have mastered the basic contents ,knowledge and skills required for the learning activity .this assessment is done to make decisions whether to proceed to the next lesson or reteach the lesson taught . This assessment also gives information whether to give a passing or failing grade to students
  • 15. Teachers evaluate because they want to make a decisions before, during and after instruction . When teachers decide not to make decisions because of insufficient information right there and then , he is making a decisions all classroom decisions should be supported by empirical evidence . These evidence are obtained through valid and reliable evaluation

  • 18. • EVALUATION focuses on the comparison of the instructional outcome with that of the preset standard . This preset standard is implicitly stated as part of the objectives in the teachers lesson plan
  • 19. • Implies that evaluation is used to determine students’ weaknesses are identified the addressed properly , then the teacher has accomplished his task of helping students cope with their weaknesses
  • 20. • Evaluation ensures that there is holistic mastery of the lesson plan from the beginning to the end of instruction . This assessment summarizes the development of learners at a given period of time w/ the ultimate purpose of giving a mark of grade .
