BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
PROCEDURE IN CPR
• SCENE IS SAFE. I HAVE ONE VICTIM LYING ON THE FLOOR. I AM (STATE YOUR NAME), A TRAINED
FIRST AIDER, CAN I HELP?
• ACTIVATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND REPORT BACK TO ME WHILE I’LL DO PRIMARY
ASSESSMENT OF THE VICTIM.
– 1. Hey sir, hey sir, are you okay? (Repeat 2X)
– 2. Victim is unresponsive!
– 3. Open the airway & check the mouth for any obstruction. (Maximum head tilt)
– 4. Mouth & nose are clear!
– 5. Check breathing for 5 sec using Look, Listen, Feel (LLF)
• 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005
– 6. Victim is breathless!
– 7. Give 2 initial Ventilatory Maneuver (IVM) or initial breaths.
– 8. Check breathing & pulse for 10 sec using LLF.
• Adult & Child- carotid pulse
• Infant- brachial pulse
• 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005, 1006, 1007, 1008, 1009, 10010
– 9. Victim is breathless & no pulse!
– 10. Follow up medical assistance & report back to me while I’ll perform CPR
– 11. Adult/Child/Infant: 2 minute CPR
• 30 ECC: 2 Breaths
• 5 Cycles
– 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 1 – 2 breaths
– 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 2 – 2 breaths

PROCEDURE IN FOREIGN BODY AIRWAY
OBSTRUCTION (FBAO) MANAGEMENT

• ACTIVATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND REPORT BACK TO ME WHILE I’LL DO PRIMARY
ASSESSMENT OF THE VICTIM.

– 8. Follow up medical assistance & report back to me while I’ll perform FBAO Management
– 9. Adult & Child victims-30 chest compressions
– Infant victims – 5 back blows and 5 chest thrusts
– 10. Open the airway and check the mouth for any obstruction.
– If foreign body is visible, perform tongue jaw lift & remove the obstruction.
– 11. Give 2 Initial Ventilatory Maneuver (IVM) or Initial Breaths

– 12. Check breathing & pulse for 10 sec using LLF

  • 2. PROCEDURE IN CPR • SCENE IS SAFE. I HAVE ONE VICTIM LYING ON THE FLOOR. I AM (STATE YOUR NAME), A TRAINED FIRST AIDER, CAN I HELP? • ACTIVATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND REPORT BACK TO ME WHILE I’LL DO PRIMARY ASSESSMENT OF THE VICTIM. – 1. Hey sir, hey sir, are you okay? (Repeat 2X) – 2. Victim is unresponsive! – 3. Open the airway & check the mouth for any obstruction. (Maximum head tilt) – 4. Mouth & nose are clear! – 5. Check breathing for 5 sec using Look, Listen, Feel (LLF) • 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005 – 6. Victim is breathless! – 7. Give 2 initial Ventilatory Maneuver (IVM) or initial breaths. – 8. Check breathing & pulse for 10 sec using LLF. • Adult & Child- carotid pulse • Infant- brachial pulse • 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005, 1006, 1007, 1008, 1009, 10010 – 9. Victim is breathless & no pulse! – 10. Follow up medical assistance & report back to me while I’ll perform CPR – 11. I AM (STATE YOUR NAME), A TRAINED FIRST AIDER, CAN I HELP? • ACTIVATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND REPORT BACK TO ME WHILE I’LL DO PRIMARY ASSESSMENT OF THE VICTIM. – 1. Hey sir, hey sir, are you okay? (Repeat 2X) – 2. Victim is unresponsive! – 3. Open the airway & check the mouth for any obstruction. (Maximum head tilt) – 4. Mouth & nose are clear! – 5. Follow up medical assistance & report back to me while I’ll perform FBAO Management – 9. Adult & Child victims-30 chest compressions – Infant victims – 5 back blows and 5 chest thrusts – 10. Open the airway and check the mouth for any obstruction. – If foreign body is visible, perform tongue jaw lift & remove the obstruction. – 11. Give 2 Initial Ventilatory Maneuver (IVM) or Initial Breaths • 1st Breath – Chest Rises • 2nd Breath – Chest Rises – 12. Check breathing & pulse for 10 sec using LLF – Adult & Child – carotid pulse – Infant – Brachial pulse • 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005, 1006, 1007, 1008, 1009, 10010 – 13. Victim is revived! – 14. Put the victim in recovery position.

Open the airway and check the mouth for any obstruction. – If foreign body is visible, perform tongue jaw lift & remove the obstruction.
