RYAN HUTCHINSON 2 Luggie Grove Kirkintilloch Glasgow G66 3AP Mob: 07402 310640 Email: r.hutchinson1995@gmail.com OBJECTIVE My career goal is to progress through the ranks as an Engineering Officer of the Watch and obtain Chief Engineer status within the next 15 years. EXPERIENCE Nov - Dec 2016 Marine Electrical Installations LTD. Working with MEI, I took part in the replacement of the fire detection system on board P&O’s MV Oriana, whilst in dry dock for a refit in Hamburg, Germany. As part of a team, we worked alongside Consilium Marine to install the new system, which consisted of over 3000 detectors. Taking part in this project, as a contractor, has shown me a different aspect of the shipping industry and has further increased my understanding and appreciation of the grand scale of the preparation a vessel must undergo before being put back into operation. Aug 2013 – Jul 2016 Bibby Ship Management Position: Marine Engineering Cadet I completed my cadetship with Wilhelmsen Lines Car Carriers through Bibby Ship Management. During this period of time I achieved a Professional Diploma in Marine Engineering at City of Glasgow College as well as obtaining the required eight months sea time experience on board deep sea going vessels. Throughout my sea time, I sailed with multinational crews, overcoming language barriers on a daily basis as we worked as a team to complete maintenance tasks and repairs on onboard machinery. From my time as a cadet at sea as well as at college, I have developed a knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of an Engineering Officer of the
