1 INTRODUCTION
According to information online, it is possible to renew a passport within six (6) months before its
expiration. Also, a new passport can be collected if the old one was lost. The workers at Nigeria embassy
at Sweden are friendly, hardworking and cooperative, thus every passport applicant should be optimistic
about their application. However there may be delay if you do not prepare ahead before going to the
embassy. It is necessary to do every necessary preparation; this will be explained in the next section.

And the phone number is +468246390, it is better to call between 10 AM to 12 Noon and it is advisable
to call before going to the embassy.
The general processes for the passport application are

2 BEFORE GOING TO THE EMBASSY
The preparation before going to the embassy is very important because it consists of the main tasks for
the application. The tasks that should be done before going to the embassy are






Filling of the application
Payment for the application
Payment for the administrative fee
Printing of those three document
Having a passport photograph
Calling the embassy
2.1 Filling of the application
The
application
form
is
available
at
the
Nigeria
immigration
website;
https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/epassport
The application form is about the bio data of the applicant. And an active email account such as Yahoo
mail and Gmail etcetera is necessary for the registration.

Choose the passport type: standard e-passport and the processing country: Sweden. As shown in figure
2 above
Then click on start application at the bottom.

Thereafter is the login in section as shown below. You can Login with any of the emails tools or social
media tools that you have.

After filling a similar form shown above, submit the application and proceed to the payment page.
PLS, kindly print out the application form
2.2 Payment for the application
After filling the application, pay the application fee online using any of the credit cards. The amount is 65
dollars.

2.3 Payment for the administrative fee
After printing the application form, the 65 dollars receipts page, and then pay the administrative fee for
the embassy from your bank account or at any banks in Europe.
The fee is 350SEK; convert this to your local currency. Pay only the E-passport administrative fee for
passport re-issue.

PLS, print out the receipt page from your net banking or duplicate of the bank teller. This is the only
means to prove that that you have paid the fee. The embassy does not means of confirming it for you.
2.4 Printing of those three document
At this point, you would have generated three printout documents;

2.5 Having a passport photograph and old passport photocopy
Kindly have a passport photograph and a photocopy of your old (about to expires, expired) passport
page.
2.6 Calling the embassy
It is important to inform the embassy ahead. This is necessary so that you can be well inform of any
other new development such as passport machine breakdown, public holiday in Sweden, any latest
requirement that would have happened after the written of this document.
3 GOING TO THE EMBASSY
Kindly prepare ahead. The embassy address is
TYRGATAN 8
114 27 Stockholm
Sweden.
It is like five (5) min from the Stockholm central train station by metro. The best option is to go by metro
for cost saving. Also, it is necessary to arrive at the embassy before 10 AM. As it is “first come, first
serve”.
For the resident in Finland, the ship cruise might be the cheapest means, however, consider the arrival
and departure time before making your decision.
The option I would have suggested is travelling by air. You can leave with the first flight in the morning
and return with the last flight in the night. If you are using Arlanda airport in Sweden, it is like 50
minutes drives to the center by bus. You can buy a day ticket from the tourist center. With this ticket
you can go to Stockholm center and also use it for the metro to the embassy. And the ticket is valid for
24 hour on any route in Stockholm.
From where you will drop from the metro, the embassy is like 3 min walk.

4 AT THE EMBASSY

After, entering the embassy, ask further instruction from the receptionist. It is likely that you will be
given a paper, containing a numeric number. It is with this number that you will be called in Turn by turn
for the biometric exercise.
The biometric exercise involves taking of your picture, finger prints and presenting those four
documents which has been mentioned in the previous section.

Also, you will write an application letter which main objective is to apply for a passport re-issue.
However, a sample of the letter will be shown to you. But you can write the letter ahead to make the
process faster.

CONCLUSION
The process of applying for passport re-issue is quite simple and straight forward and you do not need to
pay any agent or person to do so for you. Also, the staffs at Nigeria embassy at Stockholm are
welcoming, willing to help and supportive provided you have the necessary document. Therefore I will
advise that you get all necessary documents and information before going to the embassy. By the
matter of fact, the staffs at the passport section are hardworking people. They can go the extra mile for
an applicant to get its passport. Also it is important to state that there is no corruption at the embassy
and you do not need to pay any illegal fee to anybody. Just walk in, pick a number, go in for biometric,
wait for few minute and collect your passport. It is a simple process provided you make the necessary
