Myspace was one of the first well-known social media platforms launched in 2003, allowing users to connect with friends, post blogs and photos, and listen to music. It grew rapidly to become the most visited website by 2005. However, Myspace struggled to keep up with changes in social media, and the launch of Facebook in 2008 took many of Myspace's users. Several ownership changes and staff cuts reduced Myspace's role, though it still has 50 million users as of 2013 and has introduced new features like redesigns and sections for news, portfolios, and activity insights in an effort to boost productivity.
