A Gene is a basic physical and
functional unit of heredity. Genes
which are made up of DNA act as
institutions to molecule called protein
CLONING
Cloning is the process of generating an
identical copy of cell or an organism.
Clones are that organism that have
identical gene
GENE CLONING
Gene cloning is a genetic engineering
techniques in which a gene of interest
is fused into a plasmid and introduce
into a suitable host,self replicate and
generate a large number of identical
copies of the particular gene
STEPS INVOLVED IN GENE CLONING
 Generation of foreign DNA molecule
 Selection suitable vector
 Insertion of foreign DNA into vector
 Recombinant DNA introduce into a host cell
 Selection and screening of recombinant clones
