KencoCo recycles coconut waste into charcoal briquettes as a safer, cleaner fuel alternative. They have identified a large potential market of 300,000 households in their area that currently use biomass for cooking. KencoCo aims to gain a 10% market share in 2017. Their charcoal briquettes burn longer and cleaner than traditional wood charcoal. KencoCo employs 15 people directly and supports many others indirectly through their supply chain and distribution network. They are seeking a $6 million convertible loan to expand their production capacity and transportation.
