Objective: To study the viability of
soybean oil as an alternative source
for diesel to reserve fossil fuels.
EngineeringAgriculture
Business
Conclusion: As we run low on fossil fuels,
an alternative solution will be necessary for
energy. Biofuels are expensive, and
currently unrealistic. As the need for fuel
grows stronger, soybean oil is one of the
most reliable sources.
• Soybean oil = major feedstock of biodiesel
• Transesterification

• Refining Process-
neutralized, washed,
centrifuged and dried
• Raw soybean oil is NOT a legal motor fuel,
instead the biodiesel is mixed with diesel
