Give awareness & help to the uneducated sector of society about various government schemes which they actually can get benefitted. OUR PROJECTS: LATUR is unfortunately known for badly Drought affected areas of Maharashtra in India & the world came to know about water crisis of this area after Water sent by Railway Trains. On initial stage we started to supply water tankers to rural & tribal areas where the SOS situations were generated. But we realized that its need a permanent solution because whenever the water tankers will be stopped the situation will be the same from next day. 1. TAVARJA RIVER REJUNEVATION PROJECT- Tavarja is one of the main rivers of latur which connects to 70+ villages & having stretch of Approx 35 kms. Since so many years the river got silted & level of black soil increased by time. We planned to rejuvenate the 13 kms. Stretch of River & connecting Nalas, Which was totally blocked by silt which not allowing water to go under the ground level & was not in natural shape.
  3. 3. How it’s done - Physical survey - Technical survey - Meeting & Discussion with villagers - Formed Internal committees to run the project smoothly - Documentation with Gram Panchayat & Farmers - Permissions & advice from Govt. officials. On 24th may 2016 we started the work, in that we removed the silt & made recharge pits near the wells & Soil dams at various distance & by 23rd June 2016, successfully reached to our targeted spot within 30 days. 2. UMBADGA BK & KH VILLAGE PROJECT: Approx 8.50 Kms. Of River was rejuvenated in this village, where every farmer having very less area of farming like 1-2 acres, which comes into low income category, their main earning source is farming only & they were totally dependent on water. 3. HASEGAON VILLAGE PROJECT: meanwhile we started to connect & does similar river rejuvenation project in rural & tribal village which are only dependent on that natural water resources, Hasegaon was one of them, where we done 4 kms. River rejuvenation work. 4. HIPPARSOGA VILLAGE PROJECT: a very underprivileged village in Ausa Taluka of Latur district, done 2 kms. River rejuvenation project, which connecting to the main Tavarja River. Projects at a glance Project Name Total Length (In Km.) Volume of Water Stored (In Ltr.) Benefitting Villages (In Nos.) 4. 4. IMPACTS - Approx 360 Crore Liters water stored in river which is enough throughout year for the irrigation. - All nearby Wells & bores recharged, Thus the drinking water problem solved. - Underground Water table raised up to its higher level. - Cattles also got enough water to survive. - Better Crop generation, resulting in increased capita income of Farmer. - Indirectly will stop ratio of farmer suicide cases due to bad financial conditions. UPCOMING PROJECTS: WATER CONSERVATION: after successfully implement the projects; we got 145+ new approaches from farmers of various drought affected districts of Maharashtra. So to succeed in our mission of “Drought Free Maharashtra” permanently, we planned to continue the similar projects in other Drought affected villages of Maharashtra after ending of monsoon, Which will includes some more advance technologies like Recharge Pits, Check dams, Soil Dams..Etc. MISSION AAA: We believe that the periodic biological process of every mature female is a core issue related to her health and gender sensitivity in the society at large, because biological process is unique to them which entails many other health problems. A large female population is either ignorant or negligent which causes periodic social isolation which, in turn is a cause of many other socio- economic problems and backwardness in the society. This issue has always been surrounded by taboos and myths that exclude women from many aspects of social, cultural and economic life. Survey report shows that only 12% of the women across India use sanitary napkins. Females in India use an old cloth which is often reused; further 88 % of the women in India sometimes resort to using ashes, newspapers, dried leaves and husk sand to aid absorption. Promote Gender Sensitivity and ensuring modesty of Women specifically to address the issue of Healthcare & Hygiene at large by spreading awareness about the usage of Sanitary Napkins. We have taken a unique initiative along with CSR Research Foundation under its Mission AAA which is  A- Awareness  A- Availability  A- Affordability Of Sanitary pad for females at the time of their need, in this regard we are setting up Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines in particular areas.
  5. 5. MAGIC PIT- A Hassle Free Method for Household Waste Water Management Also known as a soak or leach pit is a covered, porous walled chamber that allows water to slowly soak into the ground. Pre-settled effluent from a collection is discharged to the underground chamber from which it infiltrates into the surrounding soil. This pit can be made at every household especially in Rural & Tribal areas. Major Benefits: • Drainage free villages. • Mosquito free villages. • Recharging groundwater bodies. • Zero Water Waste • Low Maintenance • Long term permanent solution of water recycling These Magic Pits are planned to construct along with Toilets & Bathrooms wherever Required. We initiated the Concept with taking one step ahead to the vision of our Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modiji under “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat Abhiyan” ( व छभारत- व थभारत) WOMEN EMPOWERMENT WITH SKILL DEVELOPMENT: In every rural village of Maharashtra the females are always suppressed & neglected by Male dominated society, in this regard, we are implementing A Unique Program called “STITCH & EARN” which as follows: • Survey in the villages to select the particular females who wants to get trained. • Motivate the selected females to achieve their future goals. • Setup of Training Centre Cum Manufacturing Unit with All required equipments. • Give training of Various Fashion Designing & Stitching Courses by good expertise. • Provide raw material from wholesale industries in lower cost. • Coordinate with them to Make finish Products like dresses, uniforms..Etc. • Connect directly with the particular industries to sell the same finished products. • Provide good competitive market rates for their work. • Engage Women’s in Income generation activities & make them financially independent. • It will make a self sustained Model for their growth & to boost their self confidence. Thus the whole idea is not only to train them, but even to give them stability forever.
  6. 6. SOLAR ENERGY – Still there are so many villages which are getting only 2-8 hrs. Electricity per day, we are planning to set up solar energy plant to make a Model village with 24x7 electricity as follows: • Survey of Power consumption in each household. • Survey of Water pumps used by farmers. • Check the feasibility of setup for solar energy plant. • Estimate of whole project with Maintenance & Warranty. • Implement the project on ground level. • Train & educate the villagers/farmers to Use & Maintain the setup. • Coordinate/Inspect/Troubleshoot time to time the setup. • This will make the villages Eco-friendly & lead towards Green, Clean & Renewable Energy. • It will help to Save Environment Directly/Indirectly. Hoping for better support from you to make us successful in our Mission. SUNFLOWER WELFARE FOUNDATION (SWF) Regd. Office Mumbai: 6, Federation house, 24/30 A.P.
