The telegraph, the telephone, the radio, and the computer were all invented at the same time, paving the way for this unparalleled integration of skills. The Internet is a global broadcasting capability, an information distribution tool, and even a medium enabling collaboration and interaction between persons and their computers, regardless of physical location. The Internet is one of the most effective instances of the benefits of long-term investment and commitment to information infrastructure research and development.
  3. 3. Access to Internet People utilize the internet for a variety of purposes, including video conferencing, email, social networking, instant messaging, and work. For many, it's been the only way to communicate with others, the only way to earn money, and the only way to safely and securely obtain the numerous products we require to thrive. All of this has resulted in some significant changes in how we use the internet in the years leading up to 2020. The COVID-19 epidemic only accelerated an already-existing tendency.
  4. 4. Digital devices used by audiences The mobile phone is the technological item that 73 % of the 37,000 respondents say they use the most, according to the study. The desktop PC is the second-most-used gadget, according to 58%, while printers are the third-most-used item, according to 56%. Smartphones and unlimited data plans are most common among consumers, offering the tools needed to dominate in mobile Internet adoption.

In 2020, 1 out of every 2 individuals on the planet owned a smartphone. YouTube and Facebook videos are seen by 50% of the population. Males aged 18 to 24 make up the largest demographic on YouTube, accounting for 35% of all channels. 2 out of every 3 people use videos to learn a new interest or skill. Instead of texting, one out of every 6 persons looks for a video on their phone.

Consumer trends • We can use technology to work, shop, communicate, and access critical services. • Many firms and commercial groups have had a work-from-home culture since the global breakout of the COVID-19 pandemic. Distance learning among students and teachers has increased thanks to technological advancements. Many institutions began delivering online classes through Google or Zoom-based platforms. • Telehealth is a technology-enabled method of providing important primary care to patients. The doctors can diagnose patients based on the information they provide in the chat box or by video conferencing using their smartphone, PC, or laptop, and provide real-time advice on what should be done or avoided.

Summary • Technology has an impact on every part of our life, including our internet access, the number of devices we use, the search engines we use, what we can buy online, and how much information we consume across all of these channels. • Technology has enriched our lives by allowing us to connect and communicate with people from all over the world; businesses use technology to improve their operations, saving time and money; students can study wherever and whenever they want thanks to the power of technology; the process continues on and on. • From the preceding discussion, it is obvious that technical innovation during the COVID-19 era has had a considerable impact on individuals' actions and states in a few countries.
