Models of CSR
Ackerman Model (1976)
This model has emphasized on the internal policy goals & their relation into the CSR.
Four stages involved in this model of CSR:
1. Awareness (Find a social problem) - Manager/Executive get to know the most
common social problem & then express a willingness to take a particular project
which will solve some social problems.
2. Planning (Study the problem) - Intensive study of the problem by hiring experts &
getting their suggestions to make it operational.
3. Implementation (Work on it) - Managers take up the project actively & work hard.
4. Evaluation - Evaluation of the project by addressing the issues.
Carroll Model (1991)
● Carroll’s CSR Pyramid is a simple framework that helps to argue how and
why organizations should meet their social responsibilities.
● Four main responsibilities of an organization’s CSR program: Economic,
Legal, Ethical and Philanthropic.
Environmental Integrity & Community Health Model
Environmental integrity has also been defined as the sustenance of important
biophysical processes which support plant and animal life and which must be
allowed to continue without significant change.
● The model was developed by Redman.
● Many corporate adopted this model towards environmental integrity & human
health.
● Through which there is greater expansion of opportunities.
● Healthy people can work more & earn more.
● CSR in particular form is welcome and Csr is beneficial for corporate
companies
Stockholder and Stakeholder Model
What is a Stake?
A Stake is an interest in decision or a share in an undertaking.
Types of Stake
1)Interest
2)Right
3)Ownership
The Difference Between Stockholder And Stakeholder
A stockholder or shareholder is the owner of shares of a corporation's common or
preferred stock. The stockholder theory posited in the 20th century by economist
Milton Friedman.
An example of an organization that does not have stockholders is a state
university. Even though it does not have stockholders, the university will have the
following stakeholders: students, students' families, alumni, professors,
administrators, businesses, state taxpayers, the local community, the state
community, society in general, custodians, suppliers, etc
A stakeholder is anyone that has an interest or is affected by a corporation or
other organization. In other words, a stockholder isn't the only party having a stake
in the corporation. Eg. The stakeholders in a corporation include its: stockholders,
creditors, employees, families of the employees, suppliers, customers, community,
and others.
Corporate Citizenship Model
●Corporate citizenship refers to a company’s responsibilities toward society.
●Corporate citizenship is growing increasingly important as both individual and
institutional investors begin to seek out companies that have socially responsible
orientations such as their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices.
●The goal is to produce higher standards of living and quality of life for the
communities that surround them and still maintain profitability for stakeholders.
