“If your actions inspire others to dream more,
learn more, do more and become more, you
are a leader.” —John Quincy Adams
Demonstrating your belief into action and
setting the right example for others to follow
enhances your credibility as a leader.
When you lead by example, you make it easy
for others to follow. “If he can do it, I can do

The Entrepreneurial Leader
Entrepreneurial Leadership Model:
Scaling a Startup to an Enterprise and an
Entrepreneur evolving to an Entrepreneurial Leader
are two sides of the same coin. This is the
Entrepreneurial Leadership model. Once, the Startup
matures into an Enterprise, the EL moves on to the
next Startup. The core belief with the ELs, however
does not change. That is, solving a problem to create
a better world.
Paradox:
Scaling a Startup to an Enterprise and sustaining it
requires the very structure of the Institutions that
inhibit the Entrepreneurial attributes of its
stakeholders. Remember, the ecosystem that spawns
Startups resides outside the walls of the Enterprise

Traf – O – Data is the first venture of Bill Gates that failed
Edison is perhaps best known for inventing the first long-lasting, commercially practical incandescent light bulb.
In 1800, Humphry Davy, an English scientist, created the first light bulb. It was improved in 1879 by Thomas Edison, who discovered that a certain type of carbon filament, when placed in bulb without oxygen, could glow for 40 hours. Later on, Edison would create a bulb that could last for over 1,500 hours—a tremendous advancement in our ability as a society to be able to do things even after the sun has set.
The purpose, the why connects the Entrepreneur to the world and is related to how they see the world to be – a better place, solving one of the problems for its people. The same purpose and why permeates into the culture, the product and the team
Step out of comfort zone. Strong desire to challenge the status quo
Stay calm in case of adversity, strict deadlines
Not afraid to try, experiment.
Surrounded by smart people
32 hour work week to attract talent
Do away with emails to improve communication
Samuel Pierpont Langley was resourceful, talented but lacked vision. That is why he could not build the first manned flight.
It’s a combination of all the five attributes that makes a successful entrepreneur
Communication engenders a culture of trust and transparency. Information flows freely laterally and longitudinally across the organization. This allows feedback to be acted upon. This also improve employee morale, organization climate and thereby Business results
There are always market forces, regulations, technology at play which are steering the industry in direction outside your radar.
You may know everything that has happened until now but you may not know everything that is going to happen.
Networking is always mutual, symbiotic.
Nothing beats experience. Learn from people who have been there, done that. Learn from their mistakes.
Connections lead to other connections.
Generate high quality referrals, opportunities for yourself and your business
Helps build your eminence
Your net worth is only as good as your network.
Tom Farley, president of the NYSE, “I owe every job I’ve ever had to networking”
Be honest and ethical in everything you do. Have strong values. Live what you are preaching.“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” —John Quincy AdamsWork hard alongside your team. Make sure the employees see you there and working with them. No one likes to work hard for someone who doesn’t work hard him or herself, especially early on. Be the first to arrive and the last to leave, whenever possible.
Demonstrating your belief into action and setting the right example for others to follow enhances your credibility as a leader.
Your actions set the unspoken standard about what is appropriate and what is not.
Do as I do, not Do as I say.
When you lead by example, you make it easy for others to follow. “If he can do it, I can do it”.
“You are who you choose to be”
Your decisions eventually decide the fate of yourself, your employees and your organization.
Be decisive and quick and detailed. Spend time on making a decision not in analysis paralysis.
Once a decision has been made, spend all your time, focus and energy on executing the decision.
Always, communicate the thought process behind your decisions to your team. If a decision cannot be explained it cannot be embraced by the team. You will not get their commitment and engagement to make the implementation successful.
Involve your team in decision making process, if it is not a crisis or not of confidential nature. That increases their engagement and commitment levels to execute the decision.
Defining the problem removes the noise that distracts the decision making process. Consult an expert if the problem is outside your area of expertise.
Improves efficiency, employee engagement.
Decentralize, lower the center of gravity, form self directed teams that can take decision impacting client success.
The decision should support he Organization’s mission, vision, goals, objectives and help towards it growth.
The outcome of decision making may be risky or uncertain. It requires unique and innovative approaches to manage risk and uncertainty.
